i must say, honest hearts is SOO short, old world blues is piss, i got the yellow light of death before i could finish lonesome road, i would say get:

dead money AND lonesome road,

if not, just get dead money, but make sure you take the gold bars using one of the many methods on the internet. it's best to get all though, so get higher level :)

dead money, but i got yellow light of death, so ONLY JUST started lonesome road, there are some really good armor you can get if you nuke the legion. called "87 tribe armor" it's strongest available, and it look like legate armor.

Also, dead money, IF YOU CAN make it out with all 37 gold bars using youtube tutorial. you can make big money.

@donniehaw i found both Fallout NV DLC to be acquired tastes that at least took time to warm up too. i think its a better approach to deviate from the normal game though and mix it up regardless. Honest Hearts is dull at first because the map is impressively labyrinthine and unpopulated, -but that changes later in the quest dramatically in a way that rewards early albeit mindless exploration.
