@johna6968 I never had any handling problems man and i like the wider look better anyways. It really all depends on if it was put on the right way, but of course its not like this bike has ever seen track days lol
put a jet kit on asap........I installed a k and n filter and didn’t put the jet kit in and the bike is not starting. Too much oxygen gets in the carburetors.
@joey9317 lol only trouble i ever had from police about my pipe was on a college campus, said if i revved it one more time i was gonna get a ticket lol
k so my bike is the exact same from the exhaust to the front light, i want to know were you got the signal bulbs for your front lights though, mine are the same but one of the bulbs went out and i cant find it anywere...
@MR3pic1 lol that sucks man and anyways the bulbs on my bike came with the aftermarket turning signals i bought, but just take a bulb out of one of yours and bring it to a hardware store...im sure they will have what your looking for
@hebeb394 yea... i took my bike everywere and showed them the bulbs, but because the little nub things on the side of the bulbs are offset they cant find one that works, i found one bulb that kind of works but when the bike turns on the first filiment lights up. the second light up when i signal, but its a weak signal
@hebeb394 yea... i took my bike everywere and showed them the bulbs, but because the little nub things on the side of the bulbs are offset they cant find one that works, i found one bulb that kind of works but when the bike turns on the first filiment lights up. the second light up when i signal, but its a weak signal
@PseudomortalityR1 hey man not all of us can afford an r1 as there starter bike lol and yes this bike is slow its only a 600 so thanks for stating the obvious man lol
just a quick question should i buy this bike or a different 600 class such as zx6r r6 etc. for about 500 dollars more im looking for performance, handling and reliability any advice?
dont buy this bike.....down the road you'll hbave many problems with the transmission and its kinda slow comparing it to the "R" series 600 class. Go with something fuel injected and race ready, this bike will end up pissing you off in the long run....it did me, its going to cost me around 2500 or more to get my transmission fixed ugh so HELL NO to this bike, i recommend r6, cbr600rr, zx6r no gsxr600 but thats my preference hope it helped
@hebeb394 Not sure if you are an exceptionally hard rider or not but I once owned a 98 spec YZF600R. Put over 20,000 miles on it without a peep of trouble from the engine or transmission. And I did'nt exactly ride like an old lady all the time. One of the most trouble free bikes I've ever owned. Didn't have trouble keeping pace with the middleweights of that era either.Their power was mostly top end. This bike was more mid-range with a respectable top.
@SR71BBFLYER lol no this bike was ridden like a sport bike, you know wheelies stoppies, burnouts etc lol but this bike was also takin care off...it wasnt balls to the wall 24/7, and yeah this bike does have great midrange......for a 600 lol after gearing it down a bit it also got better lol
i cut that shit man lol right under the blinker holders and all the way across and i just screwed in the license plate to the top of what plastic was left an ditched the hideous excuse what yamaha called blinkers lol new carbonfiber ones where like 30 bucks so i bought em and had them to this day man, cleaned everything up without breakin my wallet on a kit
ive never heard that happen before but thats sure as hell some bad luck whoever that happened to lol it atleast helps your rngine breath better and works better to keep hesitation away on carbourated bikes when you gas it cause your intake flow keeps up better with your exhaust flow, by no means would you feel power from it though lol
well you really cant feel the difference in acceleration or anything but the bike feels like it runs better and more gas milage not that you would need it but its a perk lol but all in all its a nice little touch
well lets see first off thanks for the comment man, second i tought my sister how to drive on this bike and shes like 5'5 i think and she didnt have a problem. this bike is a touring sport which means the erganomics are more relaxed instead of feeling like your leaning forward so much on a regular r6 or so, the seats on touring sports are a little bit lower then regular crotch rockets so one of these types most likely. just sit on the bike before you buy it for sure to feel for the height:)
Yea Gangsta, Hebeb is right. The YZF600R are good bikes all around, Comfort, speed, Looks, Handling, ETC. Not that tall of a bike, and i think it's the best starter or just good bike that you can get. Way better then a zzr600
lol i raced a zzr and i pulled him by like 4 car lengths by the time i hit mid to high 3rd gear lol the only thing that sucks about the yzf600r is the damn transmission lol 2nd gear is notoruiously known for goin out lol
lets see i had a conversation with someonw who had the same problem 3 times and he said...."1200 if you bring them the bike and 800 if you bring them the engine" was talkin about a bike shop in Louisiana and that was only to split the engine and change the shifting fork for 2nd gear and put everything back together so im lookin forward to spending some money on mine here soon lol hoped that helped
yea dont sleep on the yzf600r, in real world conditions this bike is more than capable in holding its on. my two homboys have bikes (2005 zx10 and i think a 2001 honda blackbird 1100). i stay up with them like its nothing. on a track i am sure they would eat me but on the streets with traffic and etc i am right with em.
yeah but even though the new line up of litre bikes just keep getting better and better every year lol but whats sad is that the big 4 cant even keep up with the german engineers in the same class lol sad huh ....what i mean is that bmw just produced a litre bike that wipes the other four main competitors off the drawin board, it makes 193 hp at the crank and is almost as light as the new cbr1000s which is just....FTW lol or in other words an afordable adrenaline missle on two wheels lol
im thinking of getting one of these in the next coupla weeks, and i was just wondering, what does it top out at pretty much stock? it has new slipon exhaust, and power commander. : / im just wondering, the guy im getting it from said he hasnt ever had it over 110
lets see i had mine up to 175 on the speedometer or atleast thats what it said lol then i geared my bike down for wheelies and now it tops out at around 155 lol im sure the speedometer is off a little though
95% Percent of teens would have a breakdown if miley cyrus was standing on the edge of a tower ready to jump, copy and paste if your a part of the 5% yelling "Jump Bitch!" :D
Oh why you're very welcome. lol I just did that to annoy hebeb394 (we know each other in real life, and he probably has the same outlook on those 2 "musical" groups that I do)
very nice. i am almost finished repairing after i laid the bike down. seems like a good time to start my upgrades. Where did you order the slipon from? more important, what model was it? Stock pipe is gonna get me killed.
thanks and i got the pipe from ebay its the loudest pipe i could find for this bike, this particular model is an 07 but the pipes will fit 97 to 06 or to 07 its all stated online at ebay lol if your looking for more acceleration then i would recommend you gear your bike down.....i went with a -1+2 combo and it really does make alot of difference lol especially if your trying wheelies cause i hard time pulling the bike up in 1st gear when it was stock now i can pull it up in 2nd with ease lol
i am curious. i have heard this from a few others aswell on stock... after you geared the bike down were you still having trouble shifting into first when not stopped? on mine and a few people that i have talked to shifting into 1st over 15 mph will grind or hit in hard. does your bike still do this (if ever)?
actually these bikes are natoriuoslu known to bend the shifting forks from first to second gear and they are also know to strip second gear out....i know this for a fact because my bike wont stay in second gear anymore when i try to wheelie or accelerate fast which really pisses me off....word of advice wait til you stop to downshift man and try not to dog it cause the grinding were the first problem i had before my second gear fucked up. my bike did it while it was stock too.
i will definately keep that in mind. my 1st gear is really starting to piss me off. at about 3 mph i cannot go from neut to 1st. wont click into the gear. pedal moves just fine... the thing just wont seat. very annoying because i dont like to put my foot down.
I have been looking over ebay and a few bike store sites... i cant seem to find anything that lists the upgrade type (like -1+2) Then again i may be looking in the wrong place. (never really done any upgrades yet). Am i missing something?
dang that sucks man lol when i say -1+2 i meant 1 tooth down on the front sprocket and up 2 teeth on the rear main sprocket man, go to your local motorcycle dealer and ask them about it, i got the sunstar sprockets cause they are cheap but still durable....both of them together are only about 75 bucks but i believe its worth it, best place to get them are at your local dealer hope you fix your problem with you 1st gear
The K&N filter was like $50 and it helped the midrange a good bit. The bike is alot faster than stock and will pull a good bit of the 600s on the market.
I do have the same bike (2007), same slip DD, it's loud :D but it makes riding safer during rush hours, drivers usually can hear me from far haha (and they just move out of my way, if not I just pass em).
180 rear tyre fks up the handling no end.... Stick with stock.. Them Japanese guys know their sh1t..
