This was NOT Martin's fault. IIRC, Mark had finished pitting, picked up speed and was running the bottom. Everyone knew he was in the Chase and had a great car. Mark said Yeley made no customary signal to let everyone know that he was pitting. So, there was never a reason for Mark to slow down or even THINK that Yeley would drive down. What made me PISSED was that Yeley was interviewed when he came off the track and he took NO responsibility, basically saying that it was just 'unfortunate.'

Yeah, I saw it. Martin hasn't got the best of luck as far as Talladega goes. He seems to crash there a lot, despite his efforts to avoid a wreck, but I can't believe he flipped...that's just the way the wind blew though. 2nd is very good in a championship, but Martin has already accomplished that. Johnson has seemed unstoppable lately, so I can't say I'm surprised he finished 6th after all of that madness. But at least Martin took it (or so it seemed) optimistically.

There is a lot of responsibility with the spotter on this deal when ever someone is coming to pit road that's all on the spotter. It's also the dirver responsability to put your hand out the window going down the backstraightaway to let the driver behind you "hey i'm pitting" So i don't know what the spotter did or didn't say for both the 18 and the 6 and even if JJ put his hand out the window. Yeley is a triple crown champion so he's exactly the worst driver in the world

Don't most drivers signal down the back stretch and then get to the bottom getting into the corner? And normally you don't slow down that much until you're on the apron. What I'm seeing is that Yeley either A-had a tire going down or something big time happened. B-Maybe he was looking in his mirror for a second or two and lost his line before he tried to come in, making him cut down real fast. Don't most drivers signal down the back stretch and then get to the bottom getting into the corner? And normally you don't slow down that much until you're on the apron. What I'm seeing is that Yeley either A-had a tire going down or something big time happened. B-Maybe he was looking in his mirror for a second or two and lost his line before he tried to come in, making him cut down real fast. Shit happens, I've been a Martin fan since 1990 and he's been shitted on every year. You get use to it

When Mark Martin won his first All-Star Race in 1998, he'd be the first to tell you he got lucky. When he won his second in 2005, it was because he kicked everyone's butt.

I was there at that race walking on the concourse and it sounded like a bomb went off when Mark hit the wall. It was the worst sound I have ever heard in my life.

hate or love mark martin his respect is deserved....one of the best drivers in the history of nascar and ild say the best to never win a championship...finishing 2nd in the points 2 or 3 times to dale earnhardt....and even if he waved his hand he should be aware that martin is below him like that

I don't pick favorites, but when Mark wrecked (I'm watched the race live), first, I was worried about him because it took him a while to get out and then I was extremely pissed off at Yeley for making such an idiotic move that could have injured Mark or Robby.

Wally was Mark's first teammate when Roush went to a 2 car operation. Wally always speaks of Mark during the broadcasts and always shows him the respect that Mark deserves.

JJ Yeley moved up into the cup series because Bobby Labonte left the cup organization. Yeley was nowhere near experienced enough for cup, and it is showing. Mark, you're a great guy, we admire everything you do!
