what do these yellow things like in 6:01 do? im pretty new in creating music and just started 2 months ago so i dont know everything, would be nice if someone could explain me what they do
@stevovimy well...when you follow all the steps you start to understand how it works, so you can make your own presets, that's why i watch tutorials, not to copy but to understand
@stevovimy Luke kind of nailed it on the head. It's not really about recreating a sound that's already being used a billion times in every dubstep song, it's about understanding the process used to reach those sounds. At least for anyone who is really interested in learning Massive and not just imitating for the sake of imitating. A lot of new Massive users don't realize the kind of sounds you can really get, they're practically infinite.
@halonone Isnt part of being a producer or whatever you lot think you are being original and finding your own ways to create music instead of copying something thats total shit to start off with. Try being different instead of trying to recreate a sound thats not going to last long as it is (skrillex will get bored and jump on another bandwagon soon enough).
@stevovimy Of course a producer wants to create his or her own unique sound, but you have to find roots somewhere. Not every guitarist likes "Smoke on the Water" but a lot of them end up playing it anyway because it's just somewhere to start. It gets you moving your hands and developing ideas. I'm not talking about the guys who turn their knobs straight to these specific settings and try to write a song with it. That's ridiculous, but we won't be seeing any albums from those guys either, hah
@NizmoTutorials I agree with Xadanar, I'm not getting anywhere near the same sound aswell. The sound to start with (when I choose "New sound...") is not even the same as the one you started with...
@Xadanar sumthin that helped me when i tried it was making sure that i made a "new sound" rather than just opening up massive n goin. took me a few minutes to realize i didnt do that one thing :p
@Xadanar nononono if you legally got it then the problem is likely that you do not have it greatly amplified. You only hear this the way it sounds here if you add a limiter or such a thing. well or you downloaded it of their website or you screwed with you routing

May I ask why you add the .06?
Stannie7 4 months ago 2
@Stannie7 It detunes it a little. Giving the sound a bit of fuzzyness. Great for droney kind of sounds! Try .13 and .07 aswell.

what do you use to play your massive sounds? like when you testing them? cause i cant listen to mine unless i save them, then open them in FL studio.
MDayy137 6 months ago
@MDayy137 You cant hear them because in massive (the standalone version) you need to set your audio output to your headphones etc.

Why not let people make their own music? Instead of helping them make some more unoriginal, cheesy, shitty 'music'.
