Thanks great video. I just want to know as a foreigner English speaking individual ( from England), what cultural aspect you have to keep in mind when applying for a job in Philippines, in terms of understanding/speaking the native Philippines language , religion and also finding accommodation (cost etc). And also what kind of attitude do the employers show towards foreigner workers thanks
@ramiz1116 It's tough for foreigners to find 'work' here. Most of the non-filipinos I know that live here full time have their own companies. It's really the only way to make the kind of money that we're used to back 'home.
However, I also know a handful of people that are making good salaries working for local companies as highly paid consultants and things like that. I guess that it depends on your background and experience level - plus, is there a NEED for what you bring to the table...
I'm a filipino, yes our country is safe, I agree its safe and just do common sense :-D.
Even mindanao has areas majority as safe. There were just major province that are in conflict.
But in news abroad you would hear that philippines is caotic or full confilct etc. thats not true.
As long as your in good deeds, your safe, as long as you dont to bad your safe, just like other countries. I agree to you ChrisDucker :-D. ........... I hope you understand my bad english :-D Peace .
just want to say this to you that I admire you. those people saying bad things about the Philippines specially Filipino. that doesn't look back where they came from are worse than a rotten fish. I live here in the US but I really want to comeback home. If I only have a good job there that can support my family and provide a house I would comeback in a hearth beat.
Thanks for your comments...you're lifting the moral of all Filipinos working abroad. We Filipinos like to welcome those foreigner who have good instentions in staying in our country. Mabuhay ka....
Owesome video!, this difinitely help my retired vet friend who wish to retire in the Philippines, thanks Chris for posting this video. Very informative and inspiring.
If you were not their employer would you have been given such a warm welcome? If you've fallen in love with any of the women you surely are expected to be the savior of her family.
A very safe country you say???????????? he he he he he he what a joke maker you are. I work with older Filipinas in the United States who are frightened at the prospect of retiring in the Philippines. I think sir, you have your head in the sand. The Philippines is a very, very violent country.
@lancer89032 The people I went to stay with were not my employees. They were just friends of friends. The Philippines can be a dangerous country sometimes. However, no more dangerous than the UK, the USA or anywhere else for that matter. This video was to focus on the good things, like the way Filipino people make foreigners, like myself, feel when we visit and work here, not to mention the 'bad' things...
The Philippines is a great country with lots to offer...
Hello Mr.Ducker, I would like to know how can a foreigner migrate to the Philippines, what are the requirements and processes that needs to be done? Looking forward to your answers. Thank you.. =)
Just thought I'd drop this by to your viewers..from all my intense research I've done the Phillipines have the most strict extradition law in the world. So if shall I say your past is a little shady and you have some cash it's harder to be forced to go back to the U.S. from here than any other country in the world.
Nice talk my wife is Philippine I wanted to move there and work but she said no to that. That it would be to hard for me to find work, Im a qualified music sound engineer and management and promotion, and a qualified deep-sea fisherman, and many certificates in a number of trades. I work for my self at the moment, its good. salamat. ako ay Dualta.
If you are going to psycho-analyse about the Filipino hospitality it is all rooted in the word "shame" or " Hiya". Almost every individual is expected to be loyal to his/her family through out your life. " Nakaka-hiya tayo" or "we would be shameful if we treat them bad " .....that kind of mentality is always infused into the Filipino attitude towards others. The "honor " of the family is very important and so by doing good deeds to others you honor the family.
@KuyaArdyPoE2 well not really.what u mean is delicadeza.i think its different. but yes its one essential factor for the pinoys. the other one is Gratitude or utang na loob. i i think pinoys strongly believe in KARMA.like getting back what u do to others and it comes in 3folds.Chris can you discuss how you find fiipinos when it comes to religion and food and talent?:)
I travelled in the Philippines in 2006 and 2008. My experience has all been positive. I was treated extremely well wherever I went. Manila, Cebu, Subic, Iligan and Zamboanga....everyone was fantastic. Always felt safe everywhere. I especially loved Mindanao.
Happy to have found your vid. I have been to the Phils 5 times and would love to settle in the Phils with my Filipino wife. Everything said here in your vid is so true. The Phils is not without problems, but it's the people who make it the best place in the world to be. Filipinos are the best people anyone can ever hope to meet. I Love the Phils and the people.
very well said. i can see that you are an open-minded, nice person, very flexible and you can adapt to any culture. that's a wonderful character. I salute you for that.
Everything you said about the Philippines is very true. hearing that from a person who was not born and raised in the Philippines should make all Pinoys be proud of themselves- ourselves I should say. You can be a governor of good-will. God bless you.

I love this video. I will show this to my American husband so he will understand why I let his father sleep on our nice masters bedroom while we both sleep on our baby's bedroom for a week. Because thats how we filipinos are. We want our visitors feel comfortable and so special. I cant afford to see his Dad sleep n the couch. I am sure this video will give him understanding of our culture. And also will help him understand why I want him to build a bathroom on our guestroom at the basement.
ya im married a pinay and shes the light of my life ; and filipinos have a special spot in my heart im going home well i call it my home my second home in march i love it there im a magician so soon ill perform there ya so love the people much love to you pinoys!!!
Interesting. Well I totally agree with you about the fil people. They are caring and giving more than we know. I have spent a small time living over there and would hope one day to return there for good.
I'm a 41 year old businessman from Scotland. Like you Chris I discovered the Philippines about 10 years ago and it completely changed my life, the Filipino has taught me the true value of Family, I am now seven years married to a Filipino Lady who has been a true Wife to me and Mother to our Son, I must be the most happy Man alive! hehe To me the Filipino have a lot to teach the World about the important things in life. I wish you continued success Chris.. JOHN WHITE
VERY good explanation of the Philippine culture. You really could not have pegged it any more perfectly. My wife who I meet in the USA, Oregon is from the philippines and is a very very hard worker. and she alone has paid for 7 brothers and sister and cousins to go to college.
It absolute amazes me...we have talked many times about moving to the Philippines but to be honest it scares me to move to such a far away place so unsure....that's why I thought to check out your video. thank you
what you said was all true, the reason why we filipino can give up everything, everytime we have a visitors in our house, even we only have 1 room in our house,or even we only have meat once a month, clean the room, make it comfortable for them, serve a nice food, coz thats our way of showing them that they are Welcome to our house.

I am in a Commerce Bachelor Degree program for a couple more years. I have never actually been to the Philippines, but for whatever reason I feel a draw to that country. I hope to travel there next year.
hi mr chrisducker,,,,nice informative video...what business u do here in the phil? IT sector? its nice of you to share your thoughts bout our country...
@ chrisducker..thanks for the nice words about filipinos.i think foreigners like you are the best to speak for our behalf.there's so many videos in youtube saying negative remarks about the philippines, these people are ducking the filipinos without even knowing or visiting the philippines.yes filipinos have negative attributes we're not perfect and we keep on trying to improve ourselves.we only have to have a good leader to lead us on the right track and we will be great nation again.
Thank you very much, Chris. I am on my way to Davao City Philippines. Yes I will be getting a house soon. And I am getting a learning experience in purchasing a home. Also I will be setting up a business and, I do have a business partner. Our business will consist of small Grocery store, in which we have a Mini van for deliveries, and transportation for family. Peanut Butter will be one of the product we are interested in doing. You are right as to partnership w/Filipino who I know very well.
