I think it's fuel - air bomb. It carries only fuel and uses air as oxidizer that's why it can be several times more powerful than bomb of similar weight that uses conventional explosives.
Problem is the new chemicals used in the bomb have a very short "shelf life", in lack of a better term. They are a bit more difficult to manufacture due to that problem. Also, all Fuel-Air-Bombs require very specific atmospheric conditions to detonate properly. In short, the MOAB and FOAB were probably just developed as chest pounders. They DO work quite well at what they were made for, but they aren't as practical as conventional bunker busters and carpet bombs.

I think it's fuel - air bomb. It carries only fuel and uses air as oxidizer that's why it can be several times more powerful than bomb of similar weight that uses conventional explosives.

Problem is the new chemicals used in the bomb have a very short "shelf life", in lack of a better term. They are a bit more difficult to manufacture due to that problem. Also, all Fuel-Air-Bombs require very specific atmospheric conditions to detonate properly. In short, the MOAB and FOAB were probably just developed as chest pounders. They DO work quite well at what they were made for, but they aren't as practical as conventional bunker busters and carpet bombs.

@transatlantification TSar was a test nuclear weapon and could never be used in a conflict. It could never be mounted on a warhead and would be shot out the sky long before it reached American soil. Also Children both America nor Russia don't want a nuclear conflict as no one can win it.
