How's the recoil? seems ok...

@panteraattila The recoils is pretty hard. And the butt plate is in steel so it makes the recoil even harder. But it depends very much on what kind of ammo you use. If you use hard loaded hunting ammo it kicks like a mule. But the K98 is a very funny weapon to shoot.

my mauser still have nazi markings on it from when my grandmothers cousin picked it up in WW2 but....they sporterized it :/ damn hard trying to find another stock thats right for it

@koiter20 It's a shame to sporterize a historical weapon, I don't understand why some people do that. I use my Mauser K98 on hunting and it works excellent as it is. One day I maybe put a scope on it, but nothing more.

That's how you shoot a rifle man. By not lifting your head from the stock. It makes it hard because some stocks are sanded down to fit the previous owner, making it impossible for people of larger size with a modded stock with for a shorter person.

@jfkdjfd Naturally some rifles you can do it with and some you can not. And the M91 Mosin Nagant (and any of the later versions) is one of them. The manual also says that you are supposed to bring it down to cycle the bolt. But mauser actions like on 03 sprinfields and definatly with Enfield actions theres no reason to loose your sight picture.

@laksemann Hold on, look at my comment, I never use the word 'waste'. It is a joke on how the price of ammo has taken such a skyrocket. Hell, I do the same thing! I've got a Mosin Nagant, and if I didn't keep all my ammo except like 25 rounds locked up and in-accessible (for the most part) I can and would probably blow like $30 in a single hour.  Bottom line, I do think the $3 was worth it, considering I've done it more times than I can count.

@gavamild 6.5x55mm is not as common or cheap as 8mm Mauser ammo. And I was going by how about much that ammo is on average. As 7.62x54mmR ammo can range from 20 rounds for $25 of match grade, or what I buy, 20 rounds for $8 or/ 100 rounds for $32 of military grade. It also depends on where you look. And I'm really sorry that you have to pay that much for ammo!

@laksemann hehe, hadde skutt en del med .22 salongrifler da jeg var ynge, så da jeg skulle ut å prøve denne her regna jeg med det var noe i samme duren.. Fikk nesten sjokk så kraftig smellet var i forhold til .22 :P kunne høre det mange km unna lett. Skulle og lage film en gang med mauser, noe skoleprosjekt.. jeg sa kameramann skulle gjøre seg klar for det kom til å smelle som pokker. Han sa "jaja", og skvatt så han datt i bakken da jeg skjøyt.

@Dragunov1185 I'm sure it will be possible if the Mosin don't have a "sticky bolt" and the shooter is familiar with it. I have tried a Mosin one time and it had a "sticky bolt". And I am not familiar with the Mosin, only fired 5 shots with one, but it's a great gun.

speed shooting like that may not hit anything but its pretty good for suppressing fire. . . as long as rounds are whizzing around it keeps their heads down so you can have your guys move around or take accurate shots . . . plus sometimes you get lucky and will actually hit something or have your rounds fragment as they ricochet and put some shrapnel into enemy flesh.
