The book The Genesis Flood gives you the creationist interpretation of geologic structures. The books you talk about probably use the evolutionist/uniformitarian interpretation. The facts are the same, the interpretation, based on the authors presuppositions, is different.

That's an excellent point. So where did the material for the big bang come from? There had to be a first cause. Material did not just pop into existence. Gravity does not have to do with magnetism directly. Ultimately Force = mg = GMm/r^2 = qvBsin<. The gravitational constant (gravity on earth) is represented by g, whereas B represents magnetism. As you can see here gravity is relatable to magnetism, but both influence each other by altering the total force. Therefore the force of gravity from the earth on the moon = the force of gravity from the moon on the earth. Newton's third law.
I have a problem with the sun and its supposed gravitational pull on planets. It's approximated that the sun is made up of about 98 % helium & hydrogen. Only a small fraction of 2% is iron. So in reality, the sun is pretty puny. What we see is the highly flammable hydrogen (actually it doesn't burn - it explodes!) and the highly unflammable helium, both of these are gasses. I have a hard time imagining that helium and hydrogen can have a gravitional pull when earth barely can keep these gases.
When gases coalesce as they have in the sun, they form a plasma, which is a superheated gas that behaves as a fluid. You are assuming that gases have no mass, but when you have as much hydrogen and helium as the sun does (600 million tons of hydrogen to 595 tons of helium per second) this is a tremendous amount of mass. Gravity depends on the amount of mass and the distance from the centers of the large body to small body (radius), not at all on the composition of the two.

@gregrutz No actually no evolutionary scientist use the fossil record as proof. There are to many variables and incomplete fossil records to do that. Read a book sometime.
@gregrutz Actually no it hasn't because the theory changes periodically. The use genomes and chromosome counts to prove evolution. When you find fossils it is not like opening a casket. A lot of the bones are often missing or crushed. Also fossils get mixed up if more than one animals remains where found in the fossil site.

@gregrutz All layers with fossils in them were formed very fast. Why? If they layers do not removed oxygen and scavengers, there will be nothing to fossilise. Fossils are evidence for quick formation of layers. So, if you have many layers on top of each other, all with fossils in them, you can say the sequence of layers was formed in relatively short time.

Geologists hundreds of years ago made assumption of rate of deposits, based on observation of the day, and did their calculations. If rates were different in the past, results will be wrong.

The geologic column exposed in the Grand Canyon or anywhere is not complete, no one says it should be. There are many unconformities. some layers were laid down by wind, some over a long period of time, some a short period.
Uniformitarianism says the PROCESS are the same, in other words the law of nature don't change. Not slow and gradual or uniform

The Big Bang merely suggests everything came from nothing. The atheistic scientists say the Universe created itself from nothing. On the other hand the Theists say God created the Universe from nothing. That the Universe came from nothing as suggested by the Big Bang is accepted both by atheists and theists. However the difference is in the "How." The first says "spontaneous creation from nothing by itself" while the other say, Creation by God from nothing (Creatio ex nihilo).

The book The Genesis Flood gives you the creationist interpretation of geologic structures. The books you talk about probably use the evolutionist/uniformitarian interpretation. The facts are the same, the interpretation, based on the authors presuppositions, is different.

Yea but you assume all creationist are 'retards', not just this guy. True, there are conspiracy theory ideas at work here, but equally true- how much of what he says is 'left out' is in-accurate? Are alot of these things not decent basis for debate? I think they are. There is a pretty decent argument for a younger earth, people just don't want to hear it. So much of science rests on the idea that the earth is billions of years old that it would be a serious shake up for it to proven otherwise.

That's an excellent point. So where did the material for the big bang come from? There had to be a first cause. Material did not just pop into existence. You guys can no more explain how 'something' came to exist than we can. Your logic of pre-existing materials would not apply to a being such as God, who works outside of the known laws of physics. That argument is incredibly simplistic and if I may say so, quite niave. You assume a being capable of creating the universe would not be able to generate and manipulate raw energy. Christians (proper ones) don't make stuff up either. There is plenty of evidence for a young Earth, yes, Scientific evidence. God exists outside our laws of physics, the same way a computer programmer exists outside of the laws that govern the parameters of a PC's capabilities

There will always be problems/questions about our universe which will need to addressed and which will challenge scientists, some of which will NEVER be answered. What this bonehead doesn't mention are all the problems which HAVE been explained via science, but which once were deep mysteries. OF COURSE there will be exceptions to the models which the scientists use, that's why they are called models.

There are so many problems with his arguments. First the Yoyo, if something is travelling at 2 kph on the out most ring of a gas ring forming a star. It does not travel faster as it reaches the center but appears so because as it gets closer its orbit gets smaller. Just drive a car in a circle at 10 kph and do large then small circles to gain a better understanding what this is.

who ever said that the sun was supposed to be brighter at one point? the sun's luminosity is constant until it runs out of hydrogen to fuse into helium. This guy has no right to be educating people on this topic he got a B.S. in electrical engineering not astrophysics and did "some" graduate work. Additionally, I have a problem understanding how earth's gravity can retain the moon, when you graph out how small and far apart they really are. If gravity has to do with magnetism of some sort it's more reasonable that the Van Allen belts are holding the moon in place. Right?

Gravity does not have to do with magnetism directly. Ultimately Force = mg = GMm/r^2 = qvBsin<. The gravitational constant (gravity on earth) is represented by g, whereas B represents magnetism. As you can see here gravity is relatable to magnetism, but both influence each other by altering the total force. Therefore the force of gravity from the earth on the moon = the force of gravity from the moon on the earth. Newton's third law.

I have a problem with the sun and its supposed gravitational pull on planets. It's approximated that the sun is made up of about 98 % helium & hydrogen. Only a small fraction of 2% is iron. So in reality, the sun is pretty puny. What we see is the highly flammable hydrogen (actually it doesn't burn - it explodes!) and the highly unflammable helium, both of these are gasses. I have a hard time imagining that helium and hydrogen can have a gravitional pull when earth barely can keep these gases.

When gases coalesce as they have in the sun, they form a plasma, which is a superheated gas that behaves as a fluid. You are assuming that gases have no mass, but when you have as much hydrogen and helium as the sun does (600 million tons of hydrogen to 595 tons of helium per second) this is a tremendous amount of mass. Gravity depends on the amount of mass and the distance from the centers of the large body to small body (radius), not at all on the composition of the two.

@gregrutz Actually no it hasn't because the theory changes periodically. The use genomes and chromosome counts to prove evolution. When you find fossils it is not like opening a casket. A lot of the bones are often missing or crushed. Also fossils get mixed up if more than one animals remains where found in the fossil site.

Fossils are evidence for quick formation of layers. So, if you have many layers on top of each other, all with fossils in them, you can say the sequence of layers was formed in relatively short time.

@gregrutz You refer to the geological column. The only place you find a complete geological column is in the text book. Are you aware of one single where fossilized human remains are found, and when you keep diggin, you find ancient marine life and anything else in between you claim is there?
Geologists hundreds of years ago made assumption of rate of deposits, based on observation of the day, and did their calculations. If rates were different in the past, results will be wrong.

The geologic column exposed in the Grand Canyon or anywhere is not complete, no one says it should be. There are many unconformities. some layers were laid down by wind, some over a long period of time, some a short period.
Uniformitarianism says the PROCESS are the same, in other words the law of nature don't change. Not slow and gradual or uniform

All life shows a double nested hierarchy that molecular biology and comparative anatomy confirms. The fossil record confirms this with new transitional fossils being discovered every year. This would not be true if God had poofed all life forms into existence in a few days.
