I talked to my dad and his first response was no absolutly not, what gave you that idea. Then he said it would be permitted in only very extreme cases, which this was not. It really is up to the officers on scene and even then if a gun were fired the chances of a miss injuring someone nearby is high. Not to mention the case procedure afterwards to determine if the actions used were justified.

From reading his comments I have gathered that. As to critiquing his politics. The fact that he lifted all abortion bans and will allow gay pople into the military is enough. Both actions are not good for the country. They estimate that with letting gays into the military 10% of out military will leave when their time in is up and more will follow.
