  • Beautiful pictures of a true matinee idol. He was the handsomest of them all..... and a truly gifted actor as well. Does anyone know story of the ring he wore on his right little finger?

  • A beautiful tribute to the most talented/handsome actor to appear on screen and stage! The music is perfect! There will never be another Tyrone Power and there is no actor to date that can even come close! Tyrone lived during a special time when movies were full of action/adventure/romance! He was born for this time and role . . . .now he is frozen in time!

  • Back in the 1970s when long hair and hippie looks were somewhat fashionable I wanted no part of it. I wanted to be clean cut like Tyrone, plus I felt deprived in that he died when I was 2 years old. Definitly a role model for me

  • The nearest thing we have to Tyrone is his son, Tyrone, Jr. He's almost a carbon copy of his father. Don't know why he never made much of a splash in the industry. He could certainly play his father if they ever did a biopic of Ty's life.

Alain Delon in his youth was a close contender to Ty looks-wise. However, Ty projected warm innocence, while Delon projected a kind of cat-like coldness.

  • I DO NOT THINK GEORGE CLOONEY OR BRAD PITT OR ANY WERE NEAR AS HANDSOME AS TYRONE POWER. I LIKE GEORGE CLOONEY MORE FOR HIS VOICE AND HIS PROJECTION OF STRENGTH IN HIS ROLES NOT FOR HIS LOOKS. BRAD PITT IS NICE LOOKING BUT HE COMES OFF AS JUVENILE IS HIS FILMS EVEN THOUGH HE IS IN HIS 40'S NOW. YOU WILL NEVER CAPTURE THE CLOTHES CLASS OR THE WAY FILMS WERE MADE BACK THEN. TYRONE WAS SUITED FOR THAT TIME PERIOD . HIS LOOKS ARE CLASSIC LIKE A BEAUTIFUL PAINTING

  • @kennopalus Amen!! You are so right...thank you for your great comment!

  • the definition of tall dark and handsome, movie star ,matinee idol,he was head and shoulders above the rest of the so called film lovers of hollywood of the golden age of the 1930s and 40s no one today comes close

  • @elchoya100 In 50 years people will be saying the same thing about Clooney and Pitt

  • te quiero

  • He was so handsome ;)

  • Beautiful!

  • I just saw the movie In Old Chicago last night on TV... HE IS SO HANDSOME.

  • I love this video.......love the music, love the pics....love the man. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • HAY ALGO MAS HERMOSO QUE ESTE HOMBRE???????????

  • Tyrone's son Tyrone 1V looks like him as do his two lovely daughters, singer Romina Power and actress/singer Taryn Power.

  • Tyrone's son Tyrone 1V looks like him as do his two lovely daughters.

  • I will never believe that Tyrone Power was gay. He was, unfortunately, a serial womanizer which is why he could never commit to wife, family and home. I read that he got both Lana Turner and Judy Garland pregnant, which ended in abortions. It must have been his most bitter disappointment when on location in Missouri for Jesse James, he got a local girl pregnant. She told him after she had put the baby (a boy) out for adoption. He tried, but could never find the child.

  • @MsElly1984

Really? Where did you read that Tyrone got a local girl pregnant while filming Jesse James?

  • The information comes from a book titled "Tyrone Power The Last Idol" written by Fred Guiles in 1979, page 61. The author writes an interesting bio of Power, nothing like another author who trashed him. I bought the book at a 2nd hand store, perhaps albris (sp.?) and if you are a fan of Tyrone Power, I would recommend it. I have all of his pictures on DVD and VHS. I, too, am a great admirer of him and his acting.

  • There are no men like that anymore =(

  • THE MALE ELIZABETH TAYLOR. 'NUF SAID!

  • He was such a handsome man, and a master at fencing. That's a dream man :)

  • Fuck he was beautifull!! My dream guy

  • Tyrone Power had a nice gift -his beauty. Nobody has ever had that handsome face. All of us would like to have a perfect face. I hope Tyrone had enjoyed his shape along his very short life. R.I.P.

  • can anyone out there who could tell me the name of a film with tyrone p,in it but he foung a draw in a old desktop,or a old tabble, but in the film he went back in time...So can someone help me,thanks...

  • @ianbradick333501435

  • His studio loaned him out for Marie Antoinette, and he was so gorgeous in that they said they would never loan him out again

  • Great tribute movie! He was a very good actor. :)

I watched him in Alexanders Ragtime Band with Alice Faye, and I plan to see more as we have a lot of movies with him in my house.

  • God he washandsome.

  • Some of my favorite movies of all time starred Tyrone Power. But favorites were The Mark of Zorro and The Black Swan! I was told by my parents that his father, and grandfather were also named Tyrone Power.

  • Ahhhh Tyrone "Power" to bewitch me. Absolute Male Eye Candy!

  • Just watched Marie Antoinette. Anyone who denies his ability to create a powerful screen presence, just check that film out.

  • i have been told that i was born in the wrong generation! but you know what....my goal actually in life is to bring by the styles of the classic film with real good entertainment that doesn't involve sex scenes and just plain dumb plots...i've grown up on the classics and they are my fav....so i wold like to see them back in hollywood and have hollywood return back to what it originally was! =)

  • There is a young actor that reminds me a little of Tyrone Power, his name is Jared Leto...

  • I've never seen Jared Leto. I'll have to check him out. Zac Efron reminds me somewhat of Tyrone Power.

  • @arecibo1964 NO WAY! TYRONE'S ARMPITS WERE BETTER LOOKIN' THAN JARED!

  • Thanks for your comment, music is "We're Losing Him", theme from

1980's movie "Somewhere In Time". Glad you enjoyed.

  • ok I remember now...we did use it for exit music for a fashion show way back when...I also meant to saw what a lovely slide show he sure was a hot man " a man's man" ... does that mean hes so hot a straight man would date him....?in the same show we used music from Out of Africa as well...it was a meloncoly kinda show with real period clothing....hot and heavy I dont know how they could stand it.and so many things to put on it would never happen now

  • So handsome and good actor!

I felt in love with him when I saw him in "The black swan".

  • An unbelievably handsome actor. I loved all his movies and especially his portrayal of Eddy Duchin in the movie, 'The E. Duchin Story". He left us much too soon. I love the beautiful music in the background, from 'Somewhere in Time'.

  • VERY GOOD PICTURES OF THIS BEAUTIFULL PERSON!!!!! ThankYou very much JONROSE44 For the (Somewhere in Time Song)

  • Tyrone Power I love him My Favorite of the Golden age of hollywood he was one in a million what talent a natural actor just Amazing I thought he always looked like royalty a prince i found out there was royal blood in his family one word ffor him MAJESTIC A BIG FAN

  • Even better looking than Valentino ! I f i looked like this guy i would have tons of women..wouldnt even need to be famous !!

  • this guy without doubt, is the most handsome actor ever to come out of Hollywood, even now. Clooney and Pitt aint got nothing on this guy. Roll over, pretenders!

  • Amen!

  • @farookbulsasra I will second that!

  • how did he die? He was such a beautiful man, and i have to mention that majestic profile he has xD

  • He died of a massive heart attack in 1958,while filming in Spain. He was only 44, very sad end for a great man

  • does anyone know if there is any footage of Tyrone Power in his personal life, home movies etc ?

  • There is some of that in the A&E Biography special on him.

  • The picture at 2:10, when was that taken? Was Barbara Stanwyck a good friend of his?

  • This photo is from their appearance together from Lux Radio program, "This Above All" which he did with Barbara. From what I've read they were friends offscreen..but not great friends.

  • Thank you!

  • im a man and im not gay, but tyrone power is easily the best looking man i have ever seen. makes me jealous! It's a shame he died quite young and 50 years ago.god bless you Tyrone

  • Sad that people have to be nasty and ignorant and leave irrelevant comments on youtube and not just enjoy slideshows. Thanks for posting this tribute to a great actor.

  • Thank you for your kinds remarks, I have remove that ugly comment and block that stupid jerk user from posting anything further.

  • very handsome! nice tribute. romina power, his daughter is very beautiful! she has the same glow that her dad had...very sad he never got the chance to see his son..he always wanted a son!

george clooney kind of looks like him...

  • I think George Clooney only wishes he looked a little like Tyrone Power but he doesn't. The only ones who look like Tyrone Power are Tyrone Power IV, and Romina Power and on them it looks great.

  • @sweetangelofpeace astute of you to mention that clooney looks like him. must be the irish blood. Power--impossibly handsome. And I heard he was one of the nicest men in Hollywood.

  • God this is absolutely gorgeous. I only went on this as my husband works in a hotel and some American guests said he looked like Tyrone Power and guess what, he does!!

    Absolutely beautiful score too.

  • Beautiful man.....

  • Great, handsome of the movies!!~ Wish he was still here.Rest iun Peace!!

  • Thank you for this wonderful tribute.

movie "Somewhere In Time". Glad you enjoyed.

  • what a brill actor

my dad looked like him when he was younger but only cause they were related lol

  • thanks for this. i love old hollywood movies.he was a handsome guy

  • I wish I was around in the old days! I would have been one of this actor's groupies! He was so handsome! Who wouldn't want a date with Tyrone Power!

  • This is beautiful. Thank you.

Ty Power was, indeed, the last of the matinée idols. Women loved him extravagantly, newspapers followed every beat of his heart. He was a kind and quiet gentleman and will always be held in my mind as such.

  • The John Wayne movie being referred to, "The Big Trail", actually features Tyrone Power, Sr. (a famous stage - and- sometime screen actor)who was Ty's father. When Ty first started his career at Fox, he was actually billed ss Tyrone Power, Jr. Under any name however, there was no denying the singular, and very special, charm of this man-- male or female, you really couldn't take your eyes off him. He truly represented all that was special under the old studio-system!

  • If you are interested, Tyrone Power is in an early John Wayne movie.

He is I believe a teenager and plays the younger brother of the leading lady.

He is hard to identify as he was a teen in the film and totally ungroomed as an actor. I didn't recognized him at all.

Here is the name of the film.

    The Big Trail

    1930 - William Fox Studio

Main Cast: John Wayne, Marguerite Churchill, El Brendel, Tully Marshall, Tyrone Power. Directed by Raoul Walsh.

  • *swoons* quite easily one of my favorite stars of all time .... thank you for this !!

  • um dos atores mais bonitos, que o cinema já teve.

Até hoje continua insubstituivel, não esqueço-me dele em Melodia Imortal, e que morreu durante as filmagens de /Salomão e a rainha de Sabá, sendo substituido por ...

  • Beautiful tribute to an exquisite man. I know the music but cannot place it. What is it, please?

  • The music is the love theme from the movie "Somewhere in Time" (with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour)

  • Thanks for your comment, music is "We're Losing Him", theme from 80's movie's "Somewhere In Time". Glad you enjoyed.

  • gorgeous, thanks so much

  • He was nearly as good looking as me. lol

Seriously, a damn good actor, one of my mothers's favourites.
