Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
This is classic 70s music, heard a remix about 2 months ago, gave me the idea to chekc out on YouTube. Patsy singing her heart out, as if her life depended on it, I'll always remember her for it in any event
my mom said that this song is really an older french song written by a Quebec singer Gilles Vigneault - so i looked it up. the song is really called Mon Pays ce nest pas un pays c'est l'hiver. check it out (btw - it means, my country is not a country - it's winter)
Hey Essex. I totally agree in one sense. My childhood memories. Music now doesn't hold up now at all and is all on auto tune. And I don't think people realize how much it is all on autotune right now. But you gotta remember -- how lightweight this song was even then and at the very end of of the disco era when disco was getting really bad . And cruise ships and warm up act in Vegas kind of cement this fact.
Was the b side 'Angie'? A Patsy Gallant single was bought for me, for Valentines day in the 70's, because the bside was 'Angie' lol ......young love lmao
This particular song was somewhat controversial in her native Canada. The melody is from "Mon Pays", which is a much more serious and poetic song, as well as having great... sentimental... value to many in Quebec.
I first heard this at a bar in detroit and loved so much I drove to a record store in Canada to buy it on a 45 and I still have that old 45 record today. Hot disco song
I remember dancing to this song in NY discos in the mid 70's. I recall Patsy Gallant and the song were both very hot in NY at that time. In my book, this is qualifies as a disco classic.
@plan9area51 I think it transcends "disco", since EVERYBODY had disco-tinged songs at the time, and the lyrics are a bit deeper than the typical disco song, which usually either exhorted people to "get up and boogie" or called women things like "disco lady" or "Lady Bump"
@castiroth You can SORT of consider yourself lucky, not having to feather your hair and burn your ears with the curling iron (women AND men had the 'feathered' look) or deal with "After School Specials" and Christy McNichol.
Hi Wookie, thank you -- it is indeed, and when I talked to my sister about what happened many years ago, she said too who knows her now and where is she today -- not a star that's for sure. I had to google the song to recall her name.
I think differently about it now of course, through adult eyes, but as a kid at 14, it was devastating. I got over it though -- way back then. Thanks for writing me.
Patsy Gallant came to Canada's capital (Ottawa) about 30 years ago, and I was 14 when I ran into her downtown. I was a kid, and she wouldn't stop to say hello or anything. I kept running behind her trying to say hi (I was a kid) and finally caught up and said "are you Patsy Gallant"? She said "YES" and walked away -- it was crushing at the time. Wasn't very nice. She could have been kinder and certainly more grateful for her fame; I never forgot how she snubbed a young girl.
This brings back memories ... newtown hotel in the early 90's .. remember being so happy "we" found her vinyl and being told off by our entomology professor for not concentrating during our prac
I first heard this on Paul O'Grady's program this Sunday (I'm in the States), and I was caught by how well Patsy can belt out this number. It brings back the one day we got to visit Studio 54. We couldn't hear a thing!
I heard this in the car today for the first time in about 25 years! I was instantly back in school in the 70s. Such a simple song, but totally unforgetable and easy to sing along too. They don't make songs like this anymore :-(
Boy does this take me back...I think I was about 15 or i6....But it was a good dance song played more in Canada then in America....Thanks for sharing & sending
Probably the old UK system. When you went to secondary school at 11 your started in year 1. That meant that you were 15 in the 5th form. All changed now.
i remember this such a great track from them days nows gone this brings it all flooding back quiet starter into an upbeat tempo such a get up and dance track thanks
great voice and catchy tune love it

@heyman29323
The fact that's cemented heyman is that around 35 years after the release of this song, the ARTISTE IS STILL PERFORMING.
Vegas doesn't book crap acts - period. Doubt it? TRY IT.
Patsy Gallant is still out there - current day 'stars' are the 'nobodies' of tomorrow - you won't need to look much further than Cheryl Cole!

Classic 70's Disco Song ............. why can't we have music in our charts like this anymore - instead of the pathetic little wonnabe gangster rap.
I believe Patsy Gallant is still working - on cruise ships and a warm up act in Vegas!
Quality is timeless!!
