  • never had a head for #s but when you toss those figures forcefully with take charge rhymes & a beat it makes me want to stand w/my unlimited on franklin-in front of the trio of bag-checking cops & ask folks if they could use a swipe. i'd be probably be tossed in the tombs for loitering but if you haven't been to jail for justice then what are you doing w/ yourself these days?

  • take it to the man! this is what the MTA deserves!

  • Power to the people!

  • I was going to say this is EXTREMELY ILLEGAL & Should not be done. But you are right about the SELLing of MetroCard Swipes. but then you said it's illegal to sell but to offer it for free is a totally different thing. Plus I've been "saved" by this happening when the turnstile just took 2$ of my mom's card and this dude just swiped her in.

Be happy you don't live in Paris, they check if you paid randomly.

  • this is a great idea! Everybody should share those 'all you can ride' cards!!! It would be great to get a massive swap operation going...

to the folks who made the video: it's got style, but def. could be slowed down a bit to facilitate our viewing comprehension-- esp the math part. ;)

  • So, your plan is to rip off the MTA off even more, so they have even less revenue, so they're forced to raise the price of that pass even more for honest people who are willing to pay for it?

Why don't you do something more productive, like rally your community to stop the fare hikes? There was a plan to stop the fare hikes in Albany, but Senators from some of NYC's poorest districts opposed it. Why? Because they think the poor don't matter. Prove them wrong!

  • if you did not know the MTA had a serf plus of 1 billion dollars in 2007 and half of that money came from people that work hard, where all the money go. There was an article in the NY POST that said that the MTA is going to cut weekend services even if the get money from the govt, what do you think about that? Dont talk down the work that we are doing with out doing some real research and understanding what they are doing.

  • how can u rip something off that has been ripping u off from the start? in nyc everyone who made over 30k a year had a personal income tax of 6.85% whether u made 31k a year or 1Million a year! the elite in manhattan are the ones who profit from being able to transport all the people into their borough to do everything around them. WE the WORKING PEOPLE do all the work and you PARASITES who pay NO taxes profit from it all. the MTA should be completely free and extremely efficient, why the F not?

  • Last Wednesday they past their hikes is going to be 2.50 for one ride and 103 for the monthly card and is going to take affect june 1st.

So please do your research and the come out support the people. Dont talk with out knowing. Please we are not going to ask the senators to help us when they should be spending that money that you are talking about on our education and our youth. Get it right.

  • Wait, what kind of "real research" did you do? That surplus was in 2005, and it didn't just disappear. It went toward capital projects and the discount the MTA gave us during the holidays that year.

The plan to save the MTA would take no money from education or any other public program, because it would charge a toll on East River bridges for cars that clog the bridges, pollute our air and poison our youth, raising asthma rates across the city.

  • this are the last words i'm going to spend on you, this is not about the MTA is about the conditions poor and underfunded communities have to endure. If you think that rallying is going to make a difference you do that, but the reality for us the people that know the struggle; we know that no one is going to do what we can do for our selfs. All the problems you listed has been going on way before you and i where born, they rather build a brand new stadium in the bronx and not spend on education.

  • Fine, if you don't want to take the time to face reality, I won't waste my time, either.

I just hope you learn that what you're doing, ultimately, hurts New York's poor communities more than it helps. Ripping off the MTA will force fares even higher and will force even more service cuts, offering them less access to good schools and good jobs.

Think about the consequences of your actions. Just because it's been going for decades doesn't mean we can't change it with a movement.

  • And trust me the MTA depends on us as much as we depend on them. They had two sets of books and no one knows how they spend their money, our money, our taxes, we pay for everything in this city and we dont get nothing back, we just bad education, no health care, immigration laws that make our people suffer in many different levels, and the food is horrible. Homelessness is become more and more serious, and they are building all this high class apt, that no one can paid for and they are just

  • empty with no one leaving in them. So i dont care what u think about what we are doing, there is people, wealthy people that dont care how they make their money, if they have to keep a hole community down to make a profit they will do it with out a care. So go block mvmt and lets make all this companies pay for the fuck up shit they are doing to us especially the MTA that is a public entity. I'm out. do your work in the east village and trust thye need help with the harassment gays endure. FU

  • You know, if you ever think you're going to have a chance to start any sort of movement like this, you're going to have to learn to debate people without just ending your argument with "FU."

    Really mature.

  • oh damn. this is amazing. let me work on your videos too. i want to help in any way i can.

  • yo let me do your next video, i love to interview people

  • I love these guys! They have a fabulous analysis, a terrific plan for direct action, and great math skills! Every teacher I know will receive a copy of this so they can develop a math lesson around it. (Well, they'll have to put a bleep in for one word....
