My great grandfather was part of the Gallipoli Invasion. A member of the Newfoundland Regiment, one of 1000 Newfoundlanders who fought for Britain in the War. It was the first battle they fought, and were nearly wiped out by heavy shelling. He survived though, and served until he died at the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

@smrk3t4 I wouldn't say that. You have a good point, though; but oil is more of a political matter, not so much of a military matter. As for fighting over "peace against terrorists with weapons of mass destruction", do you remember 9/11? We can't just sit back and do nothing about that, England also had terrorist attacks on her as well. We are there to crush the Taliban, Al Qaida, and Hammas. We dont want another "Hiroshima/Nagasaki TRAGEDY" to happen again. Oil is mearly a political buisness.

@aabceacba 9/11 was staged, the USA did that themselves... Watch zeitgeist, they PROVE that in the movie. And in this movie they also clearly tell about wars, how much profit they bring, etc. USA is the most racist country, Americans nearly extinct a whole race, started ALL wars, are braging arround about their weapons (which they should use on themselves, not on civilists in Iran and other places), etc.

It's our stupid government that's the real problem, I'm not racist, I didn't start any war, and I'm not a heartless and greedy person either. It's our screwed up government that's to blame. Most Americans are just like me, they're actually very nice people; so please don't condemn an entire country as a whole. As I said earlier, it's all the government's fault.

@aabceacba i know what you mean . i`m a german woman , 43 years old , and i surely did not fight against anyone in worldwar 2 , nor did my sons , parents , friends ...... . but in foreign countrys all germans are blamed to the " 3 reich " , although most of us didn`t live in this times , or they were little children . most of us are no nazis and most of us think : war : shit ; nazis : shit . there are some exceptions , but exceptions are everywhere (sorry for my english ;-) )

@smrk3t4 I TOTALLY agree! We need a complete government reform (our founding Fathers wanted us to keep out of foreign affairs....but look at it now). It will take time for everyone to wake up, unfortunately. But let's make government reform come sooner....,before they screw everything up.

@smrk3t4 I think this is (more or less) the pattern: a country starts out great, then they turn their back on their own principles, then get surpassed by another country. That was the case with the Greeks, and Romans....and soon to be USA. We started out well... but as time went on, things became more and more corrupt; today, "Uncle Sam" managed to put us $trillions in debt...... in 10 or 20 years, China will be the leading superpower. I'm glad I'm learning Chinese, lol.
