Hey everyone, I too am an opiate addict. I was using IV heroin everyday for over 4 years. I got on suboxone at first without insurance and had to pay $7 per pill for 90 pills per month plus Dr. fees, which cost a lot per month just to stay clean. I've since gotten great insurance which allows me to get all my suboxone for free and I have a lot of extra suboxone scripts left over. I am willing to help anybody out who wants to get clean but doesn't have the funds to do it. Msg me, thankks.

BTW methadone doesn't cause tooth decay, it's from not taking care of your teeth while being an "active" addict. Another thing is you get intense sugar cravings from the methadone so that doesn't help either, but if it wasn't for methadone I'd be in trouble and I'd still be spending 3,000/mo. So let your dad have his methadone it's a hell of a lot better than heroin.

Methadone will not cure you, it's not a cure, it's an option to use a more socially acceptive drug, to be human again, to be able to go to work, to have a family, to see what you were loosing all those years. I wish all addicts out there to find their way out of this, and it's hard, and it wont happen from the first time, but you can do it, and i am sure of it, even after being an addict for half of your life you still can stop that shit.

Methadone is a problem but is NOTHING compared to H. If you stick with the program you can suffer occasionaly and reduce your dose. My Brother in-law has been on Methadone for 10 years, following a 25+ year Heroin habit. He's fully functional and Methadone doesn't appear to have adversely affected his health. Of course he'd be better off "clean", but realistically Methadone's his only option. He clings to it like a security blanket but he's alive and healthy on a relatively low dose.

the methadon detox is even harder than the heroin detox.of course its better for them to get them off the streets and that methadon is 100% pure no dirt in it like

street smack.but the best thing for heavy users would be substitution with diamorphin. i know it sounds strange to many but :100pure heroin given in a therapy center supervised by doctors is the best way to keep them off street and later on they have better chances for the total detox

I've counseled people with various drug addictions. Meth is the hardest/worst on a LOT of levels. Opiates (Heroin, Oxy, Morphine, etc.) can be kicked with Methadone. After time you gotta quit the methadone though. Every addict's story is different. I've seen wealthy, educated people with outrageous addictions. NEVER judge "addicts"! Someone close to you that you would never dream of could become a serious drug addict in a very short time. You might be shocked to know that YOU could be next..

@randy109 every addicts story is different, then why would you say Meth is the worst? Meth is the harshest on your body if you shoot it up. Heroin is the worst drug out right now. I am an EX Meth, Heroin/Opiate, Methadone addict/ victim. Oh and just to educate you a little more, Methadone is the hardest drug to come off of, your withdrawls can last months. Meth has no withdrawls except that you go fucking insane without it.

Do you understand addiction, you should not judge.Addiction and alcoholism are a disease just like diabetes, no one asks for a lifelong disease but some people are predisposed addiction is no different than any other disease, it requires treatment. what if no one cared about you if you had high blood pressure. How would you feel? Substances affect addicts differently than someone who is not an addict do they ask for or is it their fault, do people with colitis ask for it DOUBT IT...

i'm also a heroin addict, I'm now on methadone so that I can keep my family together. I'm a graduate from Indiana University and now work for a fortune 500 company in the IT dept. The reason heroin addicts look so bad is because that's where the drug took them, they didn't start out that way. I got started on pain pills after i had surgery on my arm and it lead to heroin. It is our "fault" that we become heroin addicts but no one thinks they're gonna end up as bad off as they do.
