I actually reenacted in this battle once. I was the first union soldier to die. It was funny, no one wanted to die first so we drew straws... I lost. It was very fun to recreate this battle.
The sailor Lee Burdine was talking to actually died recently.
Lee Burdine is easily the best officer I've ever served under in 9 years of reenacting. Yale is always an excellent event to attend, and getting better every year while the Signal Corps guys and the 22nd AK work to improve the site.

Thanks for your reply. That is sad news about the sailor. I'm sorry to hear it.

I always enjoy the Battle of Round Mound in Yale, Oklahoma. I am looking forward to it again in February.
