yes, indeed, if the turbo had a malfunction and oil gets in the combustion chamber, the smoke will be blue. altough it's not necessarily the turbo that causes the smoke. blue smoke just means burning oil.

I disagree very much if you say a diesel HAS TO smoke. absolutely not. if a diesel, or any car for that matter, smokes, there's something wrong or badly adjusted. except for white smoke, that's just water vapor

unburnt fuel produces a grey blueish smoke

I agree with you. My TDI has gray smoke if engine is cold. If the water has temperature about 90 degrees i don't have a smoke. Smoke appears also when i have about 4000 rmp

wow...there are like 7 reasons why this is soooo wrong. FIRST of all...a hemi is a gas engine...it doesn't make smoke like a diesel. 2nd...hemi is a CHRYSLER engine, VW wouldn't have. THIRD, I'm pretty sure that tiny ass car doesn't have a 5.7 chillin under the hood.

@5020kid Thought I would chime and give you your answer. If you look at the video that this video is responding to you will see my Jetta TDI with the same mod. You need to Google the Evry Mod and it will tell you everything you need to know. The only things you need from Radio Shack are a switch and a 1k potentiometer, and of course some small speaker wire.

They cannot regenerate properly if they get clogged with soot, this blocks exhaust and makes the engine overheat, it can even happen on a diesel that is driven to slowly (where the cat doesnt get hot enough to work).

If u can remove the bloody thing, waste of time and actually pollute more than non fitted car when cold!
