Did you know that Sadowsky basses are nothing more than PARTS basses with his name on them? YEP! He does NOT construct anything other than assembling the parts. Isn't this little fact amazing? I will NEVER purchase a Sadowsky and pay those over-priced fees for his name!
how do these 4 string Sadowsky's compare with the MM Jazz 4 string cost wise? Hey if you are in the big time making the big coin..buy the Sadowsky.. If you are like most of us, the .MM Fender jazz is a real fine instrument you can be proud to bring on stage. Trust me, the MM bass delivers also!!
@Pastorius333 Thank you so much for clearing that up as clearly Marcus plays with soul and doesn't need to get to technical to get his point across while playing. The guy's a pocket player....I hate it when people judge other's skill based on how many notes that can fill an opening. Respect to all due to the fact that all have to take time to master their craft.
@kwkillion Actually there was a song called "Act Like You Know" by Fat Larry's band and that was out with this exact bassline years before this or that Jaheim song came out. That's where it came from. When I first seen this video I knew I heard it from somewhere before since my pops was always playing old school and I looked it up since I always knew they shouted "Act-Like-You-Know," in the song. Check it out. It's in a different key though.
@clipzngunz I think the cable had a shielded connection on one end, and Marcus (or whoever plugged it in for him) did not realise this when they set it up.
@turbanwarriorz Yeah I couldn't tell the difference either. I tried to turn the volume up to hear it but I couldn't. Could you go into a lil' more detail.
I have a few Fenders and a few Sadowsky..and they feel different, although it's in the ball park...most Sadowsky have a smaller body and it makes a big difference in feel. I love both and the Sadowsky is like a modern Fender..2 of the best ever made.
The guy petting Marcus is actually Mr. Roger Sadowski himself.. he had a pretty big hand in creating the "Miller tone" by putting that preamp into Marcus´s Jazz..
@araknonet Not to many people go for soul. It's Victor triplets here and there. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE ME SOME VIC, but when I wanna groove, I go to Mr. Miller 24-7.
@gticat1 THANK YOUUUU!!!!!! People keep saying that it's a Jaheim song and even though his song has that bassline.....it's not Jaheim's. Plus, I thought it was from Fat Larry's Band? Or did they do a cover of it from Luther?
What is the name of the song that Marcus played during the second half of the video? Someone posted the name of the song a while ago but I forgot to save it, lol. So if someone could tell me what it is I would really appreciate it. If not....it's cool.
All these builders trying to get MM to drop that Fender..... Don't do it Marcus.

@lclaughton Check out Sadowsky Metros. They're a bit easier on the wallet, but still around $1k more than a USA Fender.

@JazzBass7 I don't think anyone will be able to hear the difference - that is why he laughed, he was joking that he noticed a significant difference.
The shielding won't make it sound better/different, it just reduces the amount of noise picked up from the signal. From what I understand anyway.
