Mate, that is brilliant - well done. I've been trying to do this sort of thing - you do it much better! Also, you just helped me make my 'next mic' decision - b57
great mute work in there man! Keep it up! I also like tongue work around 1:45 hadnt really seen much of that in many of your other videos. But i like it. Give us more!!!
some of my friends and i would love to do this, with french horn tuba and trombone, so if you still have it and want to send me the sheet music i would be eternally indebted to you. we're also looking at your arrangement of your office theme song, so that would be helpful too, if you wanted to send it to me
Your right, whats to argue about, Theres low G below the staff middle G on 2nd line high G on top of the staff and double high G above that. However I could see how the argument could be made that doubles start on F# above the staff.
How's the Shure SM57 for trumpet? Do you think I should get one too because I'm not "shure"(get it :D) if I should get it, I just started recording and I don't know what I should get to record trumpet.
@TheBig5Brass i just got the sm57, and im having a little trouble with sound quality. How do you hook up your mic to the computer (what cables or adapters do u use)? or do u do something different?
love the vid one suggestion though...u should play louder with the piccolo trumpet so it can pierce through the ensemble but other than that you did very well
Thanks for the comment and suggestion...The volumes you hear don't reflect my playing. I mixed this afterwords and adjusted volume as I saw fit, I felt that the piccolo wasn't always the most important thing so I mixed it way down in certain parts. That's just my take on the arrangement.
Actually the piccolo is the second trumpet part and only for a section. Also piccolo trumpet doesn't make you play any higher, it just opens the intervals up like in the lower register.
I thought the same thing...lip-wise there is no difference between the two. It's just as hard to play high on both Bb and piccolo trumpet. The difference is the intervals the higher you go the closer the intervals are. This creates the problem of missing notes on fast passages and cracking notes etc....piccolo trumpet combats this by being half the amount of tubing (on the Bb lead pipe) so the intervals are the same as on octave lower on a Bb trumpet. So your highest note on a trumpet is
Hey this one is sick. I like that piccolo stuff. sooo tight. you must have worked so hard on perfecting that classical section. But sounds tight. You should try the You Never Give Me Your Money. That would be tight. Well, Keep 'em coming.
All he did was "half-valving." It's pretty self explanatory, but you just hold the valves down half way and kinda just "gliss" up or down to the note.
wow. i like this setting better then the white screen (:
OR you could use the white screen hang-up-thing to put up a bluescreen, so that you could paste yourself in a fancy jazzbar or something like that xD (:
I love the trumpet, but I just got my braces on, so now it's nearly impossible to play, because it hurts too much :(

May I ask what that technique at 2:36 was? It was almost like you hummed into your trumpet for it, but it seemed to smooth for that.

All he did was "half-valving." It's pretty self explanatory, but you just hold the valves down half way and kinda just "gliss" up or down to the note.

All I did was pushed my valves down half way and buzzed a low g, then slid up two octaves as I put in the new valve combination. Thanks for watching!
