Serato is the way to go....Wait till January and the big announcement with Ableton and I'm pretty sure most people wont be comparing any other professional software with this upcoming collaboration
im using 1 turntable and 1 cdj....of course it should be on phono,so that the scope would be circle...but my cdj scope is always square...so on the cdj,the tracking is always red! what am i supposed to do with that???? can any one please help! thanks in advance!
Serato is the industry standard and will always be!! Traktor just lowers prices to try to keep up. Good luck with your purchase. Don't choose wrongly or you'll regret it down the line. :-P ScratchLIVE for life
who actually spins with 4 decks on a continuous basis in clubs? or shows? maybe once in a while ... but not all the time by any means. do you really have 4 turntables all the time at your gigs? Serato has a 24 bank sampler. you can mix with that too!
Right, I do own Serato. And wouldn't have it any other way. Traktor may be cheaper, but it does not perform like Serato. If you wanna take the cheap way out then by all means buy Traktor. You might as well buy some gemini or numark decks to use with it..save money there too.
But for me, and the other industry professionals, we'll continue to rock the 1200's or CDJ's with Serato..
Don't take my word for it though.
Just go to any decent size nightclub and check out what the DJs use..
I own neither yet but as a serato owner ...obviously depending on what and how/where you mix ..but does not havig the four decks that Traktor has not bother you a little ..as i said I own neither ..just hunting for prospectives .. also traktor duo at half the price offering exactly what serato does ..what does that say if you spend more money on the same thing ...just questions from a prospective buyer ...
@djmisplacedmarblesTV If you already have a mixer I would go with Traktor and a Midi controller...just search YouTube for DJ Rafik and click the Traktor vid.
If you haven't bought a mixer yet I would look at the Rane TTM57sl that comes with Serato (kill both the DVS and mixer with one purchase)
@JeffSchre cheers man ,appreciated. am going to be holdin off a while -see what comes from serato/ableton collab, no drama to me really am only doing for my own fun these days .. the rane mxrs are fine...fine...fine.
so if am right you can only add to the music being made.
.I mean once a sample has been added and started it can't be stopped..... and, say... reintroduced later or not at all. one can only continue to add layers, not take away and re add etc ....
The thing is for those waiting on the fence, like me ...Searto being more expensive and offering less in terms of features ...even less decks, by half.
Traktor is looking the better option right in my unbiased, honest opinion.
For two decks I cold go half price of Serato and get Traktor duo or whatever they call it ...
It's going to take something big and soon to make me spend my hard earned on Serato...
@DJCachazo1 if u wanna be a turntablist, get a ttm57. if u have the money and want to spin in clubs, DEFINITELY get the 800

@bomotsot There are dipswitches on the back of the 57SL which need to be set for either vinyl or cd decks....check the manual for the 57SL.
