i have to say this is the first time ive had to pick up my keyboard to disagree with you. the m1a design came about in the 50's, and is still highly prized to this day for its accuracy and utter reliability. i think its a little unfair to criticize a gun for being "difficult to mount optics on" when the design is 50 years old. lets face it, the m1a is the 1911 of combat rifles. its reliable, its hard hitting, and its damn sexy.

I don't know about the Saiga, although they seem really cool, but the Remington 870 Marine Edition was one of the fastest handling pump guns I've ever shot. If you could find a Marine Edition, go for it.

My LT at the PD has a springfield xd and  as shot about 600 round with it. The gun is not holding up glock is a much better gun.

You can buy an integrally suppressed gun here in the UK no problem. Detachable suppressors are treated about the same as they are in the US.

We can get semi-auto shotguns and .22 rimfires, but not fullbores no. None the less, a lot of people shoot AR15s, Mini-14s, AKs and even AUGs. We remove the gas tubes/piston and add an enlarged cocking handle on the side so they work as straight-pull rifles like the Swiss K31 or Steyr M95 only much quicker. Speed for aimed shots is not much slower than a semi-auto.

I remember in 7th grade a guy brought a Thompson SMG to school to show to the class, it was a full auto version that had its breech plugged so it could not fire. I remember being disappointed at the time since it could not be shot, I guess I was thinking that we could have shot it at recess. I know you think I am lying, but it did happen, I actually held it and worked the action. It was the craziest and coolest thing that ever happened in school. They would call out the national guard now.

Havent heard about the 700 barrels blowing but i have to agree the 870 has a proven track record in the field and in combat, one which exceeds the 590 in my opinion. I used to have a marine magnum 870, traded it for a wasr-1...should have just kept it. Also, the first two guns on the second shelf are CZ-75s the third and fourth from the left are baby eagles.

nice to see another 870 owner...... to many people over-praise the mossberg but if you combined the features of the mossberg with the relyability of the remington, and the speed of the 1300 that would be the perfect pump action shotgun....... but i prefer my Escort Marine Guard more than my remington 870EM or my mossberg 500

not to mention the Remington has had many of its 700 barrels blow...... But the Remington 870 is more reliable and built better than the Mossberg 500 series or the Winchester 1300........ Ask any Police officer or ex Marine...

Actually there was a test done on the XD where they put it through the glock test. It did really well, and I think they even fired more rounds from it than they did in the glock test. Either way good guns, just a matter of preference. Good Vids.

Mistake at 5:58 those are not "AK Variants"

They're CZ 58s...very differnt gun, only cosmetically resembles an AK,,,very different actions, same 7.62 X 39 round though.

The CZs are a lot more reliable and better constructed (milled receivers vs AK stamped metal).

I've fired over 1,000 shells through my Mossberg 500 and it has never jammed on me and still fires perfectly. Ideally, I wouldn't have any plastic parts on my guns and I agree with you in that aspect, but lets get serious, that plastic part you pointed to was the safety. Who cares if that is plastic. Its not like they are being made with plastic triggers and assemblies like a lot of other guns. The Mossberg 500 is a great, cheap shotgun.

XD/Glock is a "holy war" issue. On one hand, owing to the popularity of Glocks, there is a kind of reaction by some people that everyone salivates way too much over them - strikes 'em as groupthink. A lot of those people use and promote XDs.

On the other hand, I've yet to hear anyone complain about XDs. I wouldn't turn one down (though I own a Glock).

I bet in the end it turns out to be 6 of one, half dozen of another. They are more similar than different.
