the reason that i think oasis is better than lota of these other britpop bands is because they went on. most of those guys (besides the verve and a few others) were lucky to make it to 2000. oasis still made great music for he next 15 years and sold out gigs.

I agree a lot with you about Oasis. Yes, they are not original, and do not evolve or move forwards.
But, you have to cast your mind back to the mid 1990s - when Oasis were at their peak - and they had a massive impact: they were a huge band, a people's band, and comparisons with the beatles at the time seemed fair and reasonable based on Oasis's size and success. They never lived up to it, but at that time they were massively inflential in getting guitar rock music big again.
@roejogan8 they brought back what rock was missing so nirvana was great but oasis took it further an bigger than a lot of bands only bands like the beatles or led zep could compete i think
The other thing, is that the artists you mention have their weak spots too. Sinatra had no creativity, but was just a great singer of other people's songs. The same goes for Elvis. Neither were creative forces, but rather good performers. The Beatles - yes - huge in size but a lot of their stuff was very poppy and lightweight (Lennon's stuff was more progressive) and Jackson - had a few good albums but I also think the likes of Dylan, the Stones, Kinks, Roses, Smiths, U2 etc are big too

Love Oasis ,but didnt like tis though boring.Didnt like Andys studenty boring fart attitude GEEK.Didnt like Meighans arse licking NOBBODY.Didnt like Liams stage pressence, didnt like the way it was made.Hate the song Lord Dont Slow me down to bits,i was at 2 gigs at this tour both in Dublin the Marley Park gig was classic the Gallagher family were up at the side of the stage but teres none of that in it.Plus its black and white, and drags.Give me There and Then any day proper Oasis.
