So im looking to buy one of these for my friends kid, hes ganna be anakin for halloween and really digs star wars, i also wanted to get one for myself.
ive spent hours looking around but really cant find anything for sure, i noticed you have multiple sabers so i was hoping to get your opinion.
are the ultra sabers any good? i hear a lot about them but i still dont know for sure, they seem really durable but as far as light quality and sound accuracy how are they?
I consider the ANH Luke saber to be among the best, if not the best because of its 1:1 design and screen accuracy. A long way from when they were first doing the FX sabers. The Obi Wan and Luke ROTJ NEED improvement! Those necks are too thick, and the ignition sound is not screen accurate on the ROTJ Luke version.
You cant compare the size of the two Hilts from the FX Sabers, as the ESB luke is a bit bigger than the actual prop in the film to accomedate the eletronics as its an older saber.
They are atcually the same idental size in the films as its the same same saber and both movie hilts come from a Graflex flash gun from old camras
The power section is actually the part where the rubber grips are. Another thing I like about Luke's Fx saber is the working ring tuning flange(clamp like device) above the glass eye. The ESB version has that function as well. The area you called the power section is actually where the crystals are and right above that part are the circuits.
I read that when MR first made the Luke Ep5 and Vader Ep4 sabers, they were made a little bigger than they really should be to make all the electronics fit.
By the time they did the Anakin Ep3 and then Luke Ep4, they were able to make them pretty much exactly the right scale to the movie props.
It's a shame they didn't reissue the Luke Ep5 in the more accurate scale like they did with the Vader Ep4. It's just too big to really dig.
The Luke Ep4 is totally groovy though, and i love it loads :)

you know Luke's lightsaber from ANH is actually Anakins broken (fixed when Obi-wan gave it to luke) lightsaber, because when Obi-wan gave the saber to anikan he said it was "his old friend's"
SabianBlack thanks for such informative videos on the MR lightsabers. I was debating of whether I was gonna get Luke's ANH or ESB lightsaber. I ended up getting the ANH lightsaber first and then followed up with the ESB lightsaber for a lucky steal of $100 and shipping. Although Luke's ANH is more brighter and louder, I'm happy with Luke's ESB lightsaber too because although it's less noisy and bright, it sticks to the dark tone of ESB and plus the ESB lightsaber has the best activation switch!

Ya i actually got lucky and found a place near my hometown where a guy was selling them. Google flea markets in your area and check ebay regularly. That's all the advice i can give you. They are becoming harder to find every day.

Yes but when it says "ships in 2 to 3 days" that means from the time AFTER your order is put through. Because they have so many orders they are extremely backed up, so your 'order' is placed behind everyone elses. Once they actually get to your order and SHIP it, THEN it will take around 2 to 3 days to get to you THROUGH THE MAIL. That's what they mean when they say 'arrives in 2 to 3 days".
Is luke skywalkers ANH/ESB light saber suppose to be his father's old one? Since the hilts look identical I figure that the it is

it is a longer blade but the hilt are the same length. The d-ring on the ESb makes it sit higher when standing on the bottom of the Saber

Either it is a little bit taller, or the blade sits higher in the hilt. Not sure cause I can't take out the blades.

The blades are actually the same length. The ESB saber only looks longer because the hilt is.

yes its pretty much the same saber, but the hasbro is a little smaller in size (width). Also the MR may be a little brighter but all around the same.
