Vishveshvarayya International Airport is probably the best way expressing our respect towards the great engineer who studied his degree under oil lamps to give his best to our state and hence to the nation.
We care about the name of the airport. I am not sure if you know this. The first electricity was generated in India was Bangalore from then Kannadiga Egineers. The first Tech education started in Bangalore by Mysore Maharaja with Tatas. The first well played largest dam architecture was done by Kannadiga.The first garden with fountain was planned and done in Bridavan, Mysore By kannadiga Engineers. Hopefully many of which is still not found in your states. Rescpect THE Kannadigas!!!
Yeah, let's get a crowd together to protest the naming of the airport while blocking the traffic flow that'll impede the smooth functioning of the airport itself and be detrimental to its success. When one does that, who cares if the airport is named 'MALLIKA SHERAWAT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT'?
Bangalores importance is specifically due to its English schools and colleges and this resulted in industries and the IT sector setting up shop in this city. Kannada had nothing to do with the greatness of Bangalore, in fact these fanatics have become an extreme source of embarrassment to the whole country. The British were the first to set up camp here due to the good weather when the area had a few mud huts and nothing else!.
