  • @seekah1 'Hell Awaits' was released in April 1985, I think you might be confusing it with 'Haunting the Chapel' which was released in September of 1984.

  • @idf666 Cool. Do you remember for fun what the ticket fee was back then?

  • @barath4545 For local shows there was no fee. Not out here in Northern California anyhow, would expect the same in SoCal.

  • holy shit slayer too! damn so many bands have played at the reseda county club (which now is some sort of like christain church revenue or something like that) i would have never thought slayer and megadeth had performed there. my school is like right in front of this place! What a trip!

  • @mar123x321 A lot of bands played there. Metallica, Death, Carcass, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Coroner, Kreator and a bunch more. It was a major metal place. And yeah, that place being of ANY thing holy is a joke. It needs to be exorcised first haha.

  • @nervouswreck75 lol ya man. I got introduced to slayer in 1987 (9th grade) by the same guy who I had gotten suspended from school for fighting with the year before (he also sold me my first joint for 95 cents). The 80's were crazy times man. Kids nowadays don't know how fucked up the 80's were for us metalheads.

  • @thirty2ncountin try being a metalhead now

  • @dstncowles I would much rather be a metalhead in the 80's back when there was no shitty metalcore/deathcore

  • This is at the Reseda Country Club which is 2 miles down the road from me. It's now some kind of Mexican church or something. I use to drive down Sherman Way and see the country club advertising bands like Forbidden, Carcass, Death, Kreator, Megadeth, Anthrax and a bunch more playing there. I remember at night you'd drive by and see a bunch of leather jackets, long hair and people throwing up the horns. Sadly I was too young to see those shows.

  • they gathered a freakin giant crowd in just a few short months of playing, check out the videos of their first few performances

  • All Hail. $layer!!!!!! Can't wait to see them live in San francisco ,Cal American slaughter tour2010!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is mental!! effin brilliant. the kings of thrash at their peak.

  • That guy at the beginning looked like Axel Rose xD

  • Does this whole show exist on video???

  • this IS really good music! I pressed the pause button and it wouldnt pause! LOL! its as if the computer was saying to me 'Wat the hell are u doing! ur listening 2 slayer! Dont pause it!'

  • @rhdj98 thas because NOTHING waits for slayer!

  • holy shit mike muir!! that was his voice alright. DAMN SOMEONE PROBABly died at that show. if suicidal and slayer played. sick

  • they should have a VH1 classic about '' when SLAYER '' ruled the world !!!!!!

  • These fuckers didn't know what hit 'em!

  • suicidal tendencies + slayer would ve been bad ass back in 84

  • Before Kerry King was fat, bald & ugly.

  • @p4horror

Can't blame him for the bald part but the fat part yes..

  • FUCKIN' SLAYER!!!!

  • i miss the san fernando valley

  • this was done at the country club in reseda right? i used to see bands at the country club for free about 20 years ago. I heard they started doing boxing matches and quit putting on bands. is that right?

  • AUGUST 14th........

  • Suicidal <3

  • I love the way this song starts and gets progressively greater and greater. I don't think there is a better song buildup in the history of music.

(Not just the history of metal. The history of fucking MUSIC!)

I wish they opened all their shows with Hell Awaits.

  • @siamois71 yeha but the price for the coolest intro goes to south of heaven

  • @siamois71 I agree all the way with you.

  • @siamois71 indeed its the most fucking amazing momentum-building epic song ever :O

  • @siamois71 Indeed that intro has to be the fucking best!!

  • Mike reminds of Jason from Power Rangers, so anyway, Slayer & ST Kick Ass!!!!!

  • What was Axl Rose doing there in the begining! haha xD

  • @AlcohollifuckincA It's Suicidal Tendencies vocalist, you asshole

  • why in the hell slayer play in reseda

  • EPICO!...simplemente memorable

  • This is onw of SLAYER's best albums ever. This live version is so much more fun though!

    \m/

  • I like the flashing upside down crosses.

  • Tom really makes you think he's going to end his stage banter with something more along the lines of "Well...HELLLLL NO LONNNGER....AWAAAAIIITS!"

  • heaviest song in 1984?!

  • lmao i thought King was Hetfield at first xD Just look at him go at 3:20, and then look at any video of Metallica playing live in 1986. Their styles of playing and headbanging are like, completely identical! Anyway, FUCKIN METAL!

  • is that Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies at the beginning?

  • FUCK , WHO ELSE COULD IT BE?

  • @crieff405

YEAHH DUUUUDE!!! TAKE A LOOK AT "Institutionalized" VIDEO, IS TOM at 0:30 i think

  • @crieff405 yes

  • yes it is

  • @crieff405 i think and hope it was!

  • @crieff405 ST!

  • @crieff405 Sure looks like it. I always thought it was cool when I found out he was part of the Dogtown scene, which I didn't catch back in the day, being more thrash (music) obsessed than skate obsessed. Of course after the Z-Boys documentary, I was less ignorant. ;)

  • @crieff405 yes he is!

  • @crieff405 : Yep...

  • @crieff405

    wondering the same thing.

vato'd out with a blue bandana and flannel, id say yes it is.

  • @thanape I'm thinking the same Dude...Because I think I see Tom wearing an "ST" shirt!!! And Yes...FUCKING EPIC!!! Heavy T.O Metal Fest in Toronto in 3 more days!!! Slayer on Sunday!!!!

  • i still wished they played in small cities like that

  • Now heres a bad ass video

  • slayer is so awesome

  • The crowd kicks ass too!

  • tom araya? fingers? can sumone explain?

  • he used to play with his fingers, idk why he stopped, i think he stopped playing bass with his fingers after reign in blood, i think he uses a pick on south of heaven, idk, but i no for sure that he has used a pick ever since seasons in the abyss

  • Wait now i know!! He said in a interview that he switched to pick because he wanted to match the speed of the guitars

  • he found it more comfortable since the songs were getting faster

  • was daniel son at this show? karate kid is based in 1984 reseda, ca!

  • then i hope he used his wax on wax off technique in the pit....

  • haha

  • no, that looked like the singer for suicidal tendencies

  • was that fuckin mike muire

  • yeah...tom araya is in the "institutionalized" video if you look closely hehe...he shoves mike

  • ahhh the crowd is so nice in ths video

  • lol at the headbangers right on front of the stage.

  • i guess that makes sense...since tom aray is in the "institutionalized" video...interesting.

  • I'm not making a statement, just my opinion, because I respect all those who post about Slayer and there are more experts than me. Shit back in 84 I was 20 and I listened to Rush, Dio, Sabbath, Van Halen, etc. I never knew about extream music until my late 30's. Only after the shit storm of life hits you that I needed extream music. The Education started with Slayer, Testament, Exodus, old Megdeth. But the true portal to extream music is & will always be SLAYER!!!!

  • I've never seen anyone who could pull off the bandanna like mike miur. I will be drinking my beer with slayer in hell. See you guys there.

  • That'd suck bro, the beer would be hot.

  • Is Kerry using an Explorer? Nice!

  • nice intro from cyco myko! and this is the type of energy slayer needs nowadays.

  • suicidal tendencies teloneros d slayer? estos muchachos si saben d quienes ser teloneros

  • mike miur= creator of crossover tbh

  • and D.R.I

  • BENEATH THE WHEEL!

  • slayer was opening for them.

Of course it was, Who else would it have been!!!!!!!!

    Suicidal Tendencies and Slayer.

    Wow.

What a great Era of music creation.

    God Hates Me, and

All I wanted was a pepsi.

  • Hahaha well said!

  • the upside down cross lights are the shit

  • How the fuck does Tom sing so fast?

  • Doesn't everybody wonder that? Haha.

  • it is rather mad

  • did mike muir introduce them?

  • I was just thinking the same thing!! Sure looked like him.

  • Yeah, that's Cyco allright.

And about the 666 I used to be just TheUnholyCross but I got deleted and just added that to my new name I'm trying to act hard satanic or whatever you wanna call it. Your not even worth my time coz your dumbass ignorant self didnt even kno suicidal tendencies were around '84 lmao00o0 learn your shit first bitch then if you wanna talk shit ill be here

Your a disgrace to Heavy Metal its sad

  • hahaha dude i love how you think your all tough and metalhead just cause you have that stupid description on your profile where you call yourself a metalhead (haha what true metalhead does that?) and wrote "i use to have the best metal channel on youtube". hahaha your so fuckin metal dude!! you scare me, ive never seen anyone that metal. not even james hetfield's youtube channel was better than yours. thats how metal you are. dude i got nothing against thrash, in fact, i love it. YOU ARE A POSER

I wonder wut tht wud look like anyway..... prolly have master of muppets all over it =D

  • yeah...if you look closely in the "institutionalized" video tom shoves muir hehe

  • The Country Club. I saw every Slayer show there. Dark Angel, Motorhead, Metallica, Raven. So many great bands played there.

  • too bad Pantera was wearing makeup and spandez in the mid 80s

  • lol. True, but i reckon they made their best songs back then too. Idno, a matter of taste I guess :P
