I love all of these kids. They were my friends and I miss them terribly. It is ridiculous that Disney ignores them. Why hasn't this show been release to DVD. If Disney doesn't want them. I would happily take them off their hands. But to keep them from their adoring fans is terrible. Disney embodies all that is wrong with Corporate America.
I was there at least 5 or 6 times that summer and watched every performance of every show...4 x's a day!! GREAT fun and lots of Great memories!! I even danced with them at the SPACE STAGE Disco they used to have after dark..and occasionally rode on rides with them as well!! AHHH Youth!
I watched the show everyday after school, and it was great. I thought all the kids were very talented, and I would dream that I was one of them. They're my age! lol I'm just a big kid at heart, and I still love Kelly!
@Sheri451 Yes, Billy "Pop" Atmore was on the episode with Joe Namath and the episode where Ken Berry and his wife, who lived in the neighborhood, adopted 3 kids. One of them was Pop. Another one was Todd Lookinland (Mike's younger brother) and another kid.
I've never been to disneyland, but I was 8 years old when the NMMC debuted on tv in 1977. The problem was that the local station aired it about 2pm in the afternoon on the weekdays and school didnt let out until 3pm. So the only way I could see an episode here and there was if I was sick, on vacation, or cut out of school early. I think the ratings would have improved if they only aired it at a better time when we kids could see it. And I had the maddest crush on Kelly!!! (who didnt?)
Wow that is funny, I thought I was the only one who had the hots for Kelly! I was about 10 when this aired, but I was in Houston and it came on after school. My best friend says he liked Lisa the best and doesn't remember Kelly.
You may not recognize her because she had a curly perm that summer. She's in blue jacket/shorts and later in blue dress on bass guitar. She's also the old lady carrying the "Ban the Boogie" sign.
I notice that the boys are all wearing Sgt Pepper uniforms at 3:15 ...Were they performing a medley of Beatle tunes from the movie that came out that summer?
The two different live shows were Show A and Show B. This particular production was Show A. The kids sang songs from the 40s through the 70s. For the 1960's, they did the Beatles Sgt. Pepper, With a Little Help and When Im 64.
