Video recorders sort of stuffed it for people like paul daniels who just hid cards up their long sleeves. Playback in slow motion, mystery (if there ever was one) revealed. Daniels refusing to do card tricks in short sleeves was comparable to uri fraud geller refusing to bend spoons that he had never seen before and hadn't had a chance to 'help'. Metal fatigue isn't hard to understand...
