Because it's much easier to see a predator than it is to see him cloaked. Even if you know his general location, it's difficult to judge exact distance and elevation.

This can be used to lure and distract marines. Cloaking also makes it incredibly hard for marines to judge what kind of opening you are using. Should he prepare for a long range pounce to avoid being knocked down? Should he prepare for a close range heavy/light combo? Predators can use the radars to their advantage.

I think this game is worth a 30$ price tag, the 60$ is just too much especially for a short adventure story. I like this game and am buying it after its price lowers. Like I waited for AC2 to lower but didnt realize a huge price cut it has recieved from GS 32$

@Ghostbloodman027 Yes the Yautja (predators) do respect their high tech weapons. but if you read through the comics and story of them, killing their prey with their bare hands / wrist blades or spears brings them a lot more honor from their clan. Whereas a kill from a Plasma caster is just seen as a kill. Why else do you think that in the movies they try to kill their prey up close and not just kill everything fro afar?

i find the predators to be really cheap and for noobs to be honest... all they reallly do is steal kills, and do a ton of cheap shots, and if they are being shot at they run.. i've noticed the people playing aliens usually charge in instead of running when being shot

It only restores health. You do have devices to restore you health however. The default is H on the computer.

A weak plasma cannon shot, or any other weapon that can stun/knockdown

A counter-attack after blocking a melee

A heavy attack

an option to trophy kill should then appear

Plasma is a bad choice - it drains all the energy in few shots. Energy is better for healing. The mines drains rapidly too, so I use only 1 or 2 max to mine a weapon - the SmartGun or the Disc if the other Predator is hostile (I'm always open to team up with fellow Predator).

The weapon of choice is the Disc - it can kill 2-3 enemies in one throw and even kill on the way back to you.

And finaly - I never play with normal vision. Why playing like a blind mole marine when you have visions. :D

i dont mean to be mean or anything but very bad predator gameplay srry. The reason they have ther cool gear is to use it... My preferedcombo is the plasma caster and mines.. put down some mines to form a perimeter then go cloak and jump through the game usin the plasma caster. I know everyone has ther own playstyles but with the predator killstreaks r importan u shud be able to kill like 5 guys before u get killed u kno not jump down and do a stealth kill in the middle of a fight

Oh no doubt. You have to realize this was my FIRST TIME EVER playing the predator in the demo. I had no idea where most of the weapons were at the time. I prefer mines, disc and spear. Spear is much more subtle, while the disc is insanely deadly in the hallways.

I will be working on a killstreak predator video next after I finish my next challenge.

Well theres three different visions that the Predator has.One is normal vision,second is heat vision,and the last one is for aliens only,aliens will look green.You switch visions by pressing the B button.

@ toggsuk in my opinon i think pred is the easyest to play, alien is probly is the hardest you only have light and havy attacks, human has his gun and pick ups but many his 1 gun, but pred has a light and havy (witch are yeser 2 use then alien) lots of gear mines, throwing spiny thing, spear and his shoulder gun witch is 1 hit kill ( and yes it is easy 2 get power) and all of the classes need a bit of play round befor you get the hang but in order of easy to hard i would say alien,human,pred

my problems with the demo: predator does not have enough health, aliens dont run fast enough or jump far enough, and I feel this game would be better suited to choosing and customizing loadouts rather then having to pick up weapons. But it is just a demo, we will have to see the real game before passing too much judgement
