  • "And sometimes, 'Mum' roll-on deodorant", hahahahahaha

  • 'I want a dressing room that overlooks the Blue Peter Garden'...Only French and Saunders could lauch at both the Silence of the Lambs and the Beeb at the same time!!!

  • no, no you ate yours

  • You really have to be British or live in England to understand the great humour in this.

  • @joshrules4eva ...Why exactly?

  • This is classic.

  • They even got the black typeface just right in the credits.

  • to get awards. Bafters, trophies I guess.

I never did keep my trophies.

    no, you ate yours.

    lmao.

  • I love the way that every film spoof they do they put

    'starring-

    Raw Sex'

    LMAO XD

  • What do you want me to do, shir?

  • SOTL is one of my favourite movies - this spoof is brilliant; F&S really show how excellent they are here. Lov'em.

  • Well, this is gonna be new: I'm German and I can't live without French&Saunders/ AbFab anymore! :D

  • "He said fandabidosi"

  • Oh god, this had me cracking up :L what a pair of talents! They're so adaptable, they can become anyone! Hilarious :L

  • who were the people in the jail cells?

  • @deathorlove16 - Chris Biggins, The Krankies, Bernie Clifton (forgot his name & had to look it up - he's the one on the ostrich), without watching it over I forget who else is in it.

Seriously I think I chose to be British domiciled in this life just cause of the amount of funny stuff like this I'd have missed out of being able to appreciate otherwise. There's a whole arc through many of their sketches about light entertainment on UK TV.

  • @MannySteinerBleeky thanks^^

  • @deathorlove16 Washed-up comedy acts.

  • why is everyone saying "i'm american and i love this" should you not like british humor if you're american ? I don't think there's a difference, I loved this though.

  • "Good morning. What did the Krankies say to you...?"

    "They said "fandabidozie."

"I see. I'm very sorry" XD

  • I am American and am a HUGE fan of Silence of the Lambs and all I can say about Dawn and Jennifer and this parody is.......... F*****G INCREDIBLE.

Long live French & Saunders and their hilarious and amazing work.

  • You know, as a Brit, I can only cringe reading these comments. Don't you all realise how insecure you're coming across, putting anything British on a pedestal and putting down anything from across the pond. It's not a big competition and the rest of the world thinks we've got a massive chip on our shoulders.

  • I'm an American and think French And Saunders are fuckin brilliant... jennifer is an amazing comedienne...

  • You ate all your awards,

    Yes, with a nice chianti.

    LOL

  • haha I wrote that comment above several months ago and it seems to of cause some stir-ups amongst the ranks. :D

BTW it you love French and Saunders watch Jam and Jerusalem, amazing series comedy drama written by saunders. x

  • Dawnie's hilarious

  • My favourite movie ever is "Silence of the Lambs" and I found this hilarious!

  • Brilliant

  • Thankyou SHIR!!!

  • since I am here in Canada, I don't get to see much of French and Saunders but I think they are funny and Jennifer looks particularly sexy here. I think it's her high cheek bones.

  • "Why do you think they make us do these shows, Jennifer?"

"To...to win awards... Baftars (XD).. trophies, I guess..."

"I never did keep my trophies"

    "No, you ate yours"

    HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God bless Biggins!!!!!

  • "What did the Krankies say to you?" "Fandabbydoshee" HAHA!

  • @austickitty, your a NCIE amrerican! :D

  • so great. hahahahaha. dawn and jen were born to give us the pleasure of laughing. the only way this coulda been better is if anthony was in it as some totally different character.

  • Tritano, Mrsaul, Raw Sex were a spoof band that featured in the show and sang the theme tune. They were in reality a couple of seedy lounge singers with beer cans and a bontempi.

  • brb laughing forever

  • Love these women, too funny. British Comedy Rocks!

  • Who's the guy with the puppet at 4:55?

  • Jennifer Saunders perfomrance here is soooo under-rated! Perfect take on Jodie Fosters role...!!!! Love F&S..!

  • I find Dawn rather evil and scary here! lol especially at 6:35 :S

  • @tombraideress

THANK YOU! I'm not the only one.

  • American humor is nothing compared to British. British comedies are the best.

  • americans call british comedy toilet humour, i dont care what the hell they call it, it's far funnier than them, no offence intended on americans ;)

  • @lpoxton Hmmm... never heard anyone here call it that.

  • @venusboys3 i have, a lot :P

  • british humor is the best it is far more funnier than american

  • English humor is so much better than american. Im american and i love the british. They are sooo funny :)

  • I think this is hilarious but you know just because we share a language doesn't mean our culture is identical. I don't have to agree with your sense of humor my nationality notwithstanding. Obviously there are different sensibilities that warrant humor from certain cues which may not appeal abroad. Don't be so narrow people. And what's so British about this anyway? They're spoofing an American film almost w/o prevarication save a few English actors and a reference to Cheshire and the BBC.

  • did anyone catch the second column of opening credits that start with "Raw Sex"...HILARIOUS!! (and I'm American)

  • @Tritano They do that EVERY time they role credits lol i always try to look out for it...

  • I am probably one of the few Americans that get English humor. I actually prefer it over American humor. Personally, I think it's funnier! This is hilarious!

  • I don't get why this is funny. I just don't see the humour in it.

  • @AuroraMoonWolf Basically they've just applied the film to their careers, putting it in another context. There's also Jennifer's ability to impersonate virtually anyone. I can see why a lot of people wouldn't find this funny though.

  • LOOOOOOOOOL

  • Is this supposed to be funny?

  • omg if i had a huge pussy, i would take saunder & frenchs' hands up my cunt mmmmmmm and squirt all over them

  • @susanboyle55 wtf lol??

  • "What did the crankeys say to you?"

    ... "Fan dabby dosy" HAHAHAHA

  • "Yessh shir" Lol :D

  • thats 8 minutes 34 seconds of my life i will never get back!........so worth it! :D

  • (sorry, was rudely interrupted) stuff with both of them in it "that just isn't that funny!" these two really have produced a few of the funniest things ever. they're sometimes genii.

  • it does help to be english when watching this, i concede- it's a whole massive spoof of themselves & the british light entertainment industry. & it's a startling premise, using a spoof of the Silence of the Lambs to spoof themselves & their industry.

i think their strongest (by that i mean most memorable) sketches are those which blur the lines between what they're spoofing & their own personalities/lives. in their Misery the story was about dawn making jen write stuff 4 both of them "which

  • It's amazing how Jennifer Saunders manages to look exactly like every female actress she plays!

  • @Caradog93: and not just the women: she gets the essence of some of the men she plays very good as well (and sometimes even looks a lot better as a man than the original one: f.e. Brad Pitt in Troy).

  • @Caradog93 omg i KNOW...she is like the "chameleon comic" hehe

  • @Caradog93 omgosh you're so right! I never thought of it before, but you're SO RIGHT!

  • @Caradog93 for real!! if you watch the alien spoof they did she looks just like sigourney weaver

  • french looks like mrs trunchbul at the start

  • @xxWallShowxx

i see it. but then foster did too...

  • Dawn is a true professional!

  • hahahaha they are the best

  • "What did the Krankies say to you?"

    "Fandabidozie"

    "I'm sorry about that"

    Fuckin hilarious

  • @7:02 "No, you ate yours"

There's no telling how many layers of funny that one line was.

  • Dear Auntie Beeb;

bring back French & Saunders, one of the last true comedy double acts left

  • sooooooooooooo funny! love it love it love it

  • In the beginning credits it is listed as someone starring with them as 'Raw Sex'. LOL.

  • Feckin' hilarious! Jen absolutely (no pun intended) nails Jodie Foster!

  • Hey, I'm American and I certainly appreciate French and Saunders. They're a bit of a departure from most British humor that usually refrences farting or tits or the Church of England. Highbrow stuff like that.

  • hahaha she sounds jus like jodie foster

  • I'm American and I think it's hillarious, but you do have to know who these people are. I've been a fan of British comedy, the best in the world, for years.

  • Americans have a stereotype of being fat? Well I can still probably beat up any damn brit.

  • I find them funny and i'm american, but there is no reason to call ujs americans fat, stupid and bad taste.

  • rubbish !

    see here !.

  • LOL!!!!! that is hillarious!

  • She is actually quite good as leckter, give her a serious script and i think she could of pulled it off lol

  • It's more or less the same as what was in the movie

  • to get awards....BAFTers..

    brilliant

  • yes we are just terrible- but we have come to your aid several times, if I am not mistaken.

we do love to beat the crap out of the odd sand nigger and the like- the rest of the world could use a de- lousing as well.

and perhaps one day we can do a bit of genetic engineering and fix those teeth which seem to grow as if they are all headed different directions in the world.

    cheers !

  • I think the british are hilarious- love the way they talk like they have a mouthful of hot marbles rolling around. the women love to be buggered and I love to bugger them so alls well with the western worlds !

  • Anthony hopkins would like this.

  • Sir, your opinion is sterotypical but shows you to be a repressed individal who knows little about the world around you. You have my pitty and sorrow.

    (From a Brit)

  • you do realise that we all despise americans dont you?And by we, i mean the rest of the world.

  • There's a certain element if humour here that only British people will get. I thought it was hilarious

  • French & saunders, not funny? dude you must be american

  • @luckyd0m I'm American and I find them to be hilarious!

  • @luckyd0m haha im american and i think this is hilarious! i adore jennifer saunders and dawn french

  • @luckyd0m I resent your comment....I am an american and I find FnS hilarious.

Not all americans lack a sense of humor...

  • @luckyd0m Hey! I'm American and I think French and Saunders are the most hilarious duo in history!

  • @luckyd0m hey hey hey HEY. i resent that. i've been a french and saunders fan for years and years and years. i also happen to be american. :)

  • @luckyd0m Wow, a nice healthy dose of politically-correct racism... One guy doesn't like French & Saunders, so instead of assuming he's a lone idiot that doesn't have a tasteful sense of humour, you cast aspersions on an entire nation, its people and culture? Why that's not bigoted at all!

  • Comment removed

  • @luckyd0m Hey! I am an American and I absolutely love French and Saunders.

  • @luckyd0m i'm american and love these two thank you very much!

  • @luckyd0m I'm an American, in fact, I'm from Southern California, near L.A., where the world seems to have some stereotype that we all talk like valley girls, and hang out at starbucks. My point is...I'm an American, and I find Dawn French and Jenifer Saunders beyond hilarious(moreso when they're together, but AbFab, and the Vicar of Dibley had their moments), same goes for Catherine Tate, Matt Lucas and David Williams. One doesn't have to be British to have a British sense of humor.

  • @luckyd0m hey. I'm American and I love them. I have always loved Brittish humor and beleive that our american comedians like SNL and other can lern from Brittish humor. Don't judge us all.

  • @luckyd0m That's really a bit rude you know. If someone says something that is slightly less intelligent or contradictory to your opinion, the next logical step is that they must be American. Yeah we have some dumb shits here, but I'm positive that there are dumb shits all over the globe.

  • @luckyd0m hey, I'm american and I think they are hilarious.

  • LOVE this!! Clarice is brill!

  • one has no sense of humour then. As I find it hysterical.

  • And because I don't like spinach, that means one has no sense of taste either, right?

Perhaps one's sense of humour is so refined that he recognizes dull, insipid humour when he sees it.

For a spoof, a couple of light laughs in 8 1/2 minutes is not a good ratio.

I'm not knocking anyone's opinion; however, when most of the video's comments have been so disproportionately gleaming, I expected this to be much funnier.

    Amazing? Brilliant? Hardly.

  • Yeh ok . I found the impression of Jodie foster funny. It wasn't so much the content of the spoof that was brilliant.

You probably don't get the joke.

Anyway go watch something else, if you don't like french and suanders. Not everybody likes it.

  • At :37, read the first name. lol

  • no you ate yours lol

  • Briliant

  • AMAZING! hhahahaha!

  • what did the Krankees say to you?

  • the best spent 8 minutes of my life.

  • "they shed fandabeedoshay"

    she nailed foster here.

  • that was AMAZING!!! dawn french was absolutely perfect as hannibal, loved it sooo much!!!

  • Haahaha, they're brilliant xDDD

  • 6:51 Bafters? X)

  • they are such good impressionists, whoever they are spoofing, it's always right on!

  • no u ate urs...

  • This was great! Silence is one of my all time favorite movies and watching Jen & Dawn spoof it was hilarious -- they are comic geniuses! There's nothing these great talents can't do :)

  • These girls are so dead on it's amazing!!!!

  • 0:35 did u notice raw sex as the name of the people...

  • what do you wantmeto do sher?

    ofcourse sher.

    yes sher.

    lol

  • I used to be shit scared of the real movie as a kid.

This is so funny. I never did keep my trophies.

    No you ate yours. LOL.

But I think the funniest thing was when she, did that really good impression of Jodie Foster. Perhaps you'd... like to lend us your views. LOL

  • hahaha, this is brilliant. it cheered me up! =D

    love french and saunders!

  • haha so funny xxxxxxxxxx

  • SAME clothes .. just like same place but this is not XD AND dialogue is so damn funny ! lol :D

  • lolage they r gr8!

  • .....just great! :)))))) fantastic :)

  • lmfao! "getting all the way to the B B C!" how funny!

  • At 6:50, she sounds so much like Jodie its uncanny. Dawn, though, is just brilliant!

  • Biggins!

  • Oh wow Dawn really does look like a psycho here lol.

These two are pains, my stomach is killing and I head butted my desk all because of them

  • "I never did keep my trophies"

    "no... you ate yours"

    "with a nice chianti."

    my stomache hurts from laughing

  • Brilliant! Everything is so perfect! Down to the last detail!

  • She does a great Jodie Foster :) Is that a little whistle thing under her bottom lip to give her that little 'hiss'? X)

  • I finally got to see Saunders smile and it was wonderful.

  • French's performance here is priceless.

  • Saunders is so cute.. adore her in ab fab! :D

  • lmfao!!!!

  • I don't understand what Jen says after Dawn asks what the other people said to her.

  • fandabadoozy

  • fandabadoozie - the crankies... heh heh you'd have to be british!

  • The Crankies catch phrase is 'fan dabbie dozzy". paul

  • When, French says, I never did keep my trophies Jennifer, and then saunders says, no you ate yours. I couldn't stop laughing. And at the bit where french says, all the way to the B,B, C. This is extremely funny.

  • God the "Perhaps you could lend us your view on these scripts..." line is perfect!

    God bless those two :D

  • This is brilliantly made. Any keen observer of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS can't help but love this. Thanks for posting, great stuff!

  • who is the 2 chaps with the red jackets??

  • Roy Hudd and Christopher Biggins.

For anyone who wants to know:

The other people in jail are The Krankies and Bernie Clifton

The programmes/people featured in the newspaper piece titled "Only the heavens have brighter stars" are(In order) "Just Good Friends","The Generation Game",Les Dawson and Leslie Grantham,"Keeping Up Appearances","Terry and June","Birds of a Feather" and Paul Daniels.

  • Roy Hudd, music hall historian, radio and television comic genius; and Christopher Biggins, one time winner of 'Come dine with me'.

  • Jen's Jodie Foster is unbelievable!! Terrific!!
