  • I love this!

    Highlights for me:

Delta Flyer class shuttle seen going through the shields. A minor thing, but makes so much sense.

The Defiants' deployed weaponry. So, so useful.

Upgraded Voyager just sitting there with a 'Yes? And?' attitude whilst the Klingon ships try to batter her shields down, then swats them aside like they're not even worth her time.

A minor quibble/suggestion - would have been nice to have the Voyager theme kick in when she showed up. Other than that, stunning work.

  • I loved it. Esp the armor detail, thx for sharing and please dont stop being creative ;)

  • nice job

  • Most amazing star trek video on youtube. ThAT was awesome, your skills are excellent. Keep it up please :)

  • I would love to see the enterprise e with the armour plating it would be one very hard ship.

  • not to nit-pick but it was good other than the lack of plot and a musical score, things tend to get a little boring without them. there is great talant in the animation and im sure that anything he has made today is even better, keep up the good work dude!

  • C'mon people! You all know the creator of this video has some SERIOUS talent. I am a die hard Star Trek fan and I just love the battle sequences he has put in. the Defiant dropping a smart missle and the concussion mine were strokes of genius!

And all the ships de cloaked first before firing their weapons, which is accurate Star Trek cannon or Star Trek scenario. Anyone else who berates his work is just a HATER, jealous of someone elses work. Keep up the great work!

  • Great CGI work!!!!!!! Very Impressive!!!!!

  • this is one of my all time favorites.

I don't know why anyone would complain about laser color, this was a wonderful animation with just enough original imagined elements to it.

    great job.

  • good - animation, i've used 3Ds max quite a bit at uni and i know how complicated and draining it can be on your pc - only thing i would say is you need music on it, help pass the time or the audiance gets bored waiting for something to happen

  • This has to be the most imaginative ST animation I've seen so far. The effects were absolutely outstanding, as was the battle sequence. You should contact the Pentagon about that heat seeking missile launching it's own missiles...that was brilliant!

  • nice effects, a little too much smoothing, the asteroid was losing little pieces of debri but not glowing still great though, great work on the ship and the earth, great highlighting on the earth, well done very well done 5 stars

  • kick ass

    great work

    thanks

  • Being a fellow Max user myself, I must say you did an incredible job on this!

  • Great video very good modeling, texture mapping and the rest even the asteriods where in great detail and enterprise 1476 it does not matter about the fine details He used his IMAGINATION where star trek came from. If that was a real federation ship it should be their flag ship.

  • too lazy to watch the whole thing, and from what i saw, IT WAS AMAZING. i know nothing about Star Trek, but ur vid was AWESOME. u included so many details! Anyone notice the clouds spinning on earth???

  • great video.

  • 4:14 LOL!

  • Bravo! Love the animation. Really well done. Can see u took 9 years on it.

  • Awesome video, all you need now is a good story line and some decent player controls and you get one hell of a good trek game, why can't graphics and play physics be this good? by the so called professionals who made millions off Star trek through crap games like Legacy

  • Very good effects! Let alone for 1999. Well done.

  • Wow, even better the 2nd time round. Definitely deserves a HD upload if you still have the footage.

If anyone that commented actually did any 3D modelling or animation they'd know how ridiculously hard it is and how amazingly good this is.

  • Star Trek: The NASA Generation.

    Very nice work.

  • nice explosion effects. I really like how the ablative armor materilaized. way better than in Endgame. Also I liked the effect when it fired weapons from the phaser bank area. COOL.

  • VERY well done. You have a lot of imagination and talent.

It's annoying that some critics here whine about it being non-canonical or having some other "mistake". This is your work and you can do anything you want! I enjoyed it thoroughly.

  • Wow this was a really great Video! Ive no idea how you did all these effects, but they were great.

The ship models could have been a little bit better though.

In addition you had great ideas, i had to laugh :D

  • Crazy... have seen the asteroid bomb explosion in Star Wars Episode II..

  • Sweet

  • Dude, that's pretty AWESOME! :D

Only thing, like ZeroB4NG said is the canon errors, but still, rlly awesome!

  • some minor canon errors (intrepid shooting torps from phaserbanks, jem'hadar shooting phaser instead of polaron beams) but all in all nice animations ^^

totally worth the youtube time :)

  • Fluid animations, nicely done, looks better than in many computer games ;-)

  • Got some good work there. the models were very impressive. i dont know about the detail to abilitys. I dont know if its true to the series or something you made up because its been a long time since i last watch startreck. but i did enjoy watching this. Well done

  • wtf it stopped at 3:05 for me

  • nice work my friend .... even we were the gods for once! ... hehehee

  • A little low tech for star trek at times, but very cool. very good work.

  • Great animation -love the Intrepid class ship's shields!

  • Oh, I know about some effects: The Ion-Laser-Cannons, the elecric shields, and the big ship is working as a salvage-convetter in the end --- Looks like in 'Homeworld'

  • Really Nice and I love the story

  • not a bad video, although i never knew starfleet commisioned a ship with a cloaking device. i thought that was a luxury only klingon's enjoyed

  • @stanfordsan the romulans also have cloaking devices. after the USS Defiant (which used a romulan cloak after they obtained permission to use it), the federation started commissioning certain ships and refitting a few existing ones with federation built cloaks.

  • @ciscokitty8 indeed. i most continue my studies of star trek lore

  • This was so cool!

  • wow, very nice. good camera control, most people cant operate cgi cameras correctly.

  • good job!!!

  • not bad. its funny, the first thing i can remember modeling and animating was a shot of the sun going past the earth. lol.

  • Thanks I really liked that!

  • Really cool

  • This is long and tedious. Edit this down to about half of the time and then MAYBE it will be bearable to watch. Now I understand you put alot of time into this. And it looks impressive. But seriously. I mean the thing doens't start until 3 minutes in.

this would be awesome at 4 minutes in length.

  • What?? you charging us 250,000 a mile?? OMG why not open a Vortex. Can't do that Cpt..............Are we a there yet?? Shut up!!!!!!!!! Ol'd Macdonald had a farm. Shut up........ Are we there yet??.....That was cool we laid a spacial egg cool huh?? it had a base Guitar effect. from ZZ Top. So thats how we got them Cpt. of Voyager. lol my kid loved that. :) cool video.

  • I would love to see a tutorial on how to get the armor deployment effect in 3DS Max. That is so cool!

  • you forgot one crushal detal yourself shealds and cloacks are not real so i can do what i like with them

  • @warrenborton I beg to differ, what do knights use to defend themselves?

  • awesome video, wish i could do that, tho if i applied myself im sure i could! hehe and to all those with negative things to say need to make their own animations post them here and be ridiculed, because the animations will be awful im sure1

  • nice work ^^ i wish i can do this but i cant : )

  • Good movie, very talented.

  • Please keep in mind that this was made in 1999 as stated by it's creator in the descript. Over a decade ago. How good were any of you back then? I'm sure that today, based solely on the assumption that an individual continues to do that which is most passionate to him/her, the level of skill has grown both exponentially as well as substantially. It is good work and in many ways better than the original shows it was born from. All in all, Great Job! 5/5

  • It's impossible that he created it in 1999:

in this video you can see the armoured voyager, which apperead in "Endgame" in the 2001.

  • dude thats not endgame armor thats my ablative armor

  • @warrenborton that's not ablative armor. Ablative armor was not appearing like that. It was simply an addition to the regular hull. For you info, the defiant has ablative armor. Did you ever see it go through that kind of transition?

  • @Raindarsus This armor should not be confused with the ablative armor used on the USS Defiant and USS Prometheus. Concept drawing of Admiral Janeway's shuttle by Rick Sternbach described the future armor as Nanotech Molecular armor plating.

  • @starfleetcc that's what I was saying.

  • @Raindarsus The Ar or used on voyager uses an Ablative Generator

  • @Raindarsus

    Ablation:

The removal of [something] by melting or evaporation, typically from a glacier or iceberg.

The loss of surface material from a spacecraft or meteorite through evaporation or melting caused by friction with the atmosphere.

    Armor:

(also armor plate) The tough metal layer covering a military vehicle or ship to defend it from attack.

That IS Ablative Armor, just more advanced so it can be removed and replaced with the Generators.

  • @warrenborton 05:29 - No WAY this was made in 99, when Attack of the Clones, the movie where you lifted this effect, was released in 2002. And Startrekking2 is correct. That's gotta be the armored voyager seen in "Endgame," as the "ablative armor" to which you're referring looks completely different. What, you're claiming Voyager took your idea and ran with it?

  • @warrenborton

    It's the same...

  • @Neso906 he didnt make it, their is another one on a site called dailymotion that was uploaded in 07

  • @trimi38

No, I mean about the armour. Ablative armour = the armour used in Endgame.

  • Not really. For all we know, he is a game developer and would have access to that

kind of information years before it came out.

Not hard to believe at all. I really wouldn't

know as I only watch Star Trek and have only

recently become interested in perhaps playing it online as the console versions have all sucked I have sense then not given the online versions a chance. Until now.

  • @startrekking2 "STARTED making", he probably finished it after Voyager ended.

  • @startrekking2 as for the armor I had not even seen endgame when I created my armor and not to blow my own trumpet my armor rocks.

  • @startrekking2 Your logic. Is NOT flawed =)

  • @startrekking2

Read his author's comment. He said he STARTED this creation in 1999 AND it took him a few years to finish it.

My dad when he was alive back in 2001 started work on a 1967 R/S Chevrolet Camaro for me. He finished the car in 2005 then passed away in July of 2006. The video creator never said he finished it in 1999, just started it.

  • You could turn this into a movie if you wanted to! Keep up thr good work.

    -The Boss

  • The movie is cool, but you have a really poor understanding of physics and facts, and camera work. Even with just OK modeling and materials if you have good camera work everything could look amazing. Your camera work made everything look very CGI and fake. You had sudden stops and jerks. I don't really need to explain why you can't see all of the solar system from a single asteroid and how the sun doesn't move that fast. If those had been good, it would of been amazing.

  • you have a gift embrace it

  • I like the Defiant's seismic bombs, even though she never really had any.

  • that was very good

  • Why do ALL ships have cloaking?

  • @snipperbes cus i can

  • wow that was cool

  • Wow, great storyline not to mention animation A+++

  • great video but the federation signed a treaty against using clocking

  • I have a clocking device. I use it to wake me up in the morning.

  • @supressorgrid:correction:I have a clock.I use it to wake me up in the morning

  • @supressorgrid

Now here is a fellow who has used the word "clocking " correctly. Mine too, wakes me up for work.

  • @TheDMpro im not in the federation

  • @TheDMpro

I truly hope you meant to spell the word "cloaking" and NOT clocking. But I have to agree with you on the great video comment, this person has some SERIOUS talent.

  • "not bad for a little ship"

    "little?!"

  • i think he said tough little ship

  • @spacexploder Worf: "Little? Bah!"

  • Clearly you like the defiant.

  • um hello! ships can not have shealds up while cloked! how on earth did you over look that crushal detal!

  • How on Earth did you look over such an obvious spelling mistake like "CRUCIAL"?

  • Jezus fool. Its animation not a movie. And you like FACS ? dont you? try to do this to entrerprise1476 naab. So we can judge

your movies ? warrenborton great movie keep the spirit alive

  • @enterprise1476 what i did was pretend that it all was not real ooh thas right it aint

  • @enterprise1476 scimitar could

  • @enterprise1476

Wow! Do I have to correct YOUR spelling as well? The words you are looking for are cloaked and crutial.

And remember, this is the creator of this video's version of Star Trek, so nobody can fault him. I don't see any of YOUR video here. I myself have 10 videos on U Tube. Just watch my Pro Built USS Enterprise E.

  • how did u make dis?

  • got to love the voyager ship design

  • Great animation, but I did notice that the dominion was firing fed-color phasers, and the federation was firing dom-colored phasers.

  • the scale is all kinds of off...also...Klingons and Dominion...not allies...also, even if they were, the Dominion would not be cool with the Klingons firing on the wormhole.

  • Absolutely Outstanding!

  • lol you used a seismic charger from star wars II am i righy?

  • I don't usually bother with fans' attempts to recreate or mimic the TV show or films, but I have to say this was very very good. Criticisms? Yes, quite a few. And they'e for the posters making negative comments, please can you give us your efforts? If you can find so much fault in this animation, your's must be stunning and I look forward to seeing them. But I'm not holding my breath.

  • How the hell is it possible that each ship has a cloaking device?? I thought only Klingons and Romulans used 'em.

  • the romulans gave the federation one cloak @ the start of the dominion war, the defiant was equiped with it and it was likely reverse engeneered

  • The fizzle at 5:53 is so funny!

  • ha 3:15 they were like oh shit

  • Can I buy this off you for 40 bucks? Lol.

  • I greatly enjoyed this.

If there was any criticism, and if it wasn't too difficult, I would have all the asteroids move constantly.

  • @Eohelm dude i had to remove about 100 asteriods my comp at the time could not handle it

  • too cool

  • ignore the negative comments, this is one of the best I`ve seen (and I`ve seen a few)

Wish I had 10% of your patience and talent

  • i like the music!!

  • so what version of max did you do this in? many of the effects are very impressive.

  • max 4 and combustion

  • i agree with kamalmichael ur very creative

  • that was nice..

  • This was great animation! Enjoyed it, hope to see more.

  • Well done for doing it alone. Totally ripped Jango Fett's depth charge from Star Wars though..

  • WOW! You did this in 1999? I hope you've got some recent stuff up - I can't wait to see what you're doing now!

  • just to clear this up when i said i did this in 1999 i ment i started it in 1999 this took me quite a few years as i was working alone and anyone who has done any of this type of work knows how long it takes

  • I love the use of new technology, great film!

  • you should join the star trek team. ur work

    is good if not better

  • HEEPS GOOD AWESOME

  • why is Jupiter closer to earth than the moon?!

  • It's the inevitable future :)

  • good but in space when you set off you never stop moving Ok !

  • its ok but the sounds wer not that great. the bop and the jem hadar ships never made sounds anything close to what you used. also they didnt have orange phasers. they had purple ones. also the photon torpedos on the klingnon ships are red and not orange. ALSO the little guns on the wings shot green energy beams not orange....

the modles and animations were good. the rest sucked. if i had to rate it id say C- at best

  • do you not understand how hard it is for film companys to do this sort of stuff with 10 or so people working on modeling 10 on textureing 10 on animation 10 on edditing and i did all this myself ,when you have done some cgi work that come anthing close to this please fell qualified to make negative comments

  • I think your video is amazing and it is the only 3D mesh I've seen that has a ablative hull function.

I as wondering if you ever thought about making the ablative hull mesh you used available for download?

  • if i still had it you would have been welcome to it it had over 3000 seperate bits to it but it was along time ago now and my computer has been replaced several time since them it may be on disc some were but dont think so

  • Good video, love the collision armor for Voyager, great work.

  • Amazing work still - and absolutely astonishing that it's from 1999!

  • very cool dude i love it

  • Not a bad video, your attention to detail was pretty good for a fan-made video.

  • love it I enjoyed that, well done m8 awesome work

  • realy good! only.. there is no sound in space, you can't hear something flying over and hear something explode since there is no air xD

  • Oh my dog...

YESSS, you are right. He could have left the whole movie without sound.

And: there are no spaceships and no starfleet. He could have left them also.

Next time especially U may watch 9:34 a planet with a moon. Nothing else.

Physically correct - and really boring.

  • Well, I think he is presuming that perhaps something along the lines of Starfleet may exist at some point; it certainly is feasable (sp?)

But the "sound in space" thing could never physically be possible.

  • 5.55 is brill, the little electric shock thing comes out lmao

  • 99? Brilliant!

  • an excellent job on this. Mr. Roddenbury would be most honored.

  • sorry about that i meant Mr. Roddenberry

  • What? You did a grenade-type thing from SW Ep2, and the armor that Janeway got from the future in Endgame *before* them? So did they steal your ideas, or what?

  • I think your version of ablative armor deployment is way better than the shows.

  • You made this i 1999??? 10 out of 5 then.

  • Holy crap! For 1999 and homemade, I'd say that's pretty darn good!

  • More like 2002 since it has the sonic bomb thing from Attack of the Clones. Still really good though.

  • haha u invented the seismic charge before star wars did the attack of the clones even the sound haha

  • haha looks like 3d movie maker explosions

    really good vid

  • you totally rock your work should have of been in the new ST movie thanks

  • Decent video...dominion and federation phasers were switched at the beginning colorwise otherwise good video

  • muy buena animacion, un comentario. las naves del "dominium" no usan rayos "fasers" lo demas esta ok

  • Didn't realize all the planets of the Solar System were so close together.

Nice presentation, but a little more effort would've made it a that much more enjoyable.

  • I guess no one told the gem hadar the odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field are approximately 3720 to 1.

  • Not to bad IMO

  • Why were the Klingons helping the Jem Hadar?

  • That was outstanding...love the sonic charge device. Would be nice to see more capital ships if you decide to do another one. Keep up the good work.

  • Yay! I loved the Attack of the Clones reference with the sonic charge.

    Very well-done vid.

  • Nicely done. The SFX was great. A nice way of using Voyager again, as well as combining DS9...

  • very well done

  • if I remember, Federation don't have clocking device. and Intrepid class don't have so..hm...strong hull armor :p

    but animation is good :)

  • Yes, Voyager couldn't have had one due to the Treaty of Algeron. The Federation couldn't be in posession of their own cloaking device, but the Defiant had the cloak on loan from the Romulans in exchange for any information they gathered from the Gamma Quadrant. So yes and no to that.

  • Whatever anyone else thinks I thought it was fantastic!!!!!!WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice dude that was a good time when we had trek on. I miss seeing trek on the big and small screen. Let home we dont have a 20 year trek drought like back in the 70's and and 80's b 4 trek was back on TV. Nice Job!!!!

  • Not bad but some Star Trek music'd add alot of tension. :)

  • It's actually from 2003, not 1999.

  • I was thinking that. The Voyager series finale, "Endgame", didn't air until 2001 and that's the episode the armour was featured in.

  • Very nice animation!!

  • very cool!

  • 4:20, lol owned
