  • @nordfjellBrandt how many cuda are really required for premiere? they say it only uses 100 cuda cores, ill do some more research, someone actually used gtx 240 that actually has 100 cuda cores but was limited to 3 tracks on GPU rendering, is there a benefit on using more than 100 cuda? how many tracks does your GTX560Ti enable you?

  • Hi guys, i have cs5.5 with 8800gts, planning to go GTX, what would be the cheapest GTX that would be good for HD editing and is supported by the mercury engine! im unfamiliar with the GTX series, b4 gtx, x800 series were considered high end series, how about GTX series, what are considered high end on GTX!

    tnx

  • This CUDA acceleration works on laptop with GeForce GT 525m. Here's an instruction how to enable this on any GeForce card with minimum 768 MB of memory: indiev. org /?p =308

    remove spaces

  • yes... but what? I gotta have a 16-core PC and like a crap-load expensive RAID setup before I get this.. right? :(

  • i got cs5.5 and it wont let me change it....

It says "mercury playback engine software only" BUT ITS WRITTEN IN GREY (NON CLICKABLE)

  • does it play back smooth and real time whit a geforce gts250 card??? can you add ultra key, color correction and it still play back real??? please answer

  • Before you buy this software google amplicate hate cs5. Read what real users have to say.

  • tut for Photoshop cs5 on my channel

  • After Effect question. I have a 8gm of ram on my pc. When i check the preferenceses on memory & multiprocessing after effect it read - Install: 8 GB and for Total After Effect memory usage: 2.4 GB.

Why is it reading usage 2.4 GB when I got 8 GB?

    Thank you

  • @petenicezz

Because you have 8 gigs installed, but the program itself is only using 2.4 gigs (at that time)

  • @petenicezz may be u r using AF CS3 that is 32bits, and this one can not use more than 4 gb. u most upgrade to CS5 to be able to use ur 8gb ram.

  • yeah thats why i love NVIDIA see? GTX 480 FTW *-*

  • Awesome! Can't wait to install it tomorrow!

  • 8 cores, 16 threads.

  • wtf 16 cores, nice

  • @abcLazyTiger122 no "just" 8 cores

  • @abcLazyTiger122 8 Cores but 16 threads :) but still pwnage!

  • Does anyone have a working serial number?

  • does mercury playback engine work with after effect cs5.

  • @petenicezz yes.

  • ATI can do this

  • @Febbre46OnlyForRossi prove it

  • @Febbre46OnlyForRossi no idiot i said PROVE it not DO it. you not proving anything to me since you were the one that made the statement, so i called you out requesting you to prove your statement.

  • @Mathewmartialart I was referring to computing power ... ur offended nvidia fanboy?

  • @Febbre46OnlyForRossi how am i to be offended, you were the one stating ati can do this, so it would be you that needed to prove your point. and just b ecuase im correcting you and calling you out ina sense to prove what you believe are facts does not mean in any situation making me a fanboy of the nvidia product.

  • @Mathewmartialart radeon she could be doing just that is not supported! I mean computing power

    ...understand?

  • @Febbre46OnlyForRossi heck all ive asked is for you prove that ATI can do what nvidia can do since thats what you said . and its not computing power its card gpu power

  • @Mathewmartialart 5870 (554Gflops double) > GTX 480 (168 Gflops double)

  • @Febbre46OnlyForRossi thats corect the quadro fx cards are NOT the most powerful against say evga gtx 480, how ever your comment right at the start was "ATI can do this"

  • @Mathewmartialart ATI can do it physically but is not supported by drivers... I did not want to seem more powerful than they are... only a matter of drivers

  • @SonyNintendoGamer sure its a 64 bit os and the intel core 2 duo procs are 64 bit...but its still not doing anything for you..not like what adobe is doing with premiere on a pc

  • what

  • CS5ORG I would have a couple of questions:

Is this demo realized with GeForce-GTX480 or nVidiaFXQuadro5800?

Are they both CUDA based on?

What's the proper configuration to get that result? beside the VideoCard I mean. Would you specify CPU, Mobo, RAM, others...?

    Thanks in advance.

  • @startakko I can say with 99% certainty that Nvidia would have done this demo on a FX5800

  • good bye final cut.. welcome cuda premiere :)

  • Guys who are using Snow Leopard, be sure to force it into 64 bit mode or your mac won't even see Premiere or After effects. To do this on your mac hold down the 6 and 4 keys at start up. If you're on a Hackintosh use a program called Multibeast and type in -force64

  • Anyone knows how to get Premiere Pro for 32 bit?

  • @jeanorwin You can't get CS5 Premiere Pro in 32 bit. You either need to upgrade your system or stick with CS4.

  • @CaelumProductions

heh, snow leopard got 64bit native, WinVista and 7 has native 64 since 2006 and up.

P.S, don't hate mac's :-) just thought I'd point it out :-P no flame warz pleez

  • @djlobb

There's no need for a flame war. I simply explained to someone who had asked how to get Premiere working on a 32bit system that it wouldn't work after CS4. I know that Snow Leopard and Vista/7 are 64bit. I run Premiere on all three! :)

  • @jeanorwin new Premiere Pro is 64-bit only. Also, all new CPU's and workstations are 64bit anyway, so why do you need it? The good part is, they've optimized it from ground up for 64bits. This means faster processing, better memory usage and responsiveness.

  • @eMentorPL

Yea, might be true. Just wondering may you can use the Mercury thing with a GT325M..

  • @jeanorwin not "might" .. it is :-) Read the press release or system requirements on adobe website. Other main apps in the suite are also 64 bit with only a few exceptions.

  • @eMentorPL :p Still wondering may you can use the Mercury Engine with a GT325M.. I'm thinking about buying a laptop soon, and that one'd be in a laptop of my choice. If it isn't supported, I could take a cheaper one with ATI graphics..

  • Download over 300 video and audio editing tools from one SINGLE ftp for free. Just google for Aries-Films and see how many great video plugins, sound effects and programs out there

  • I have a Nvidia Geforce with Cuda. and i cannot change from software. any help?

  • Or Just get Edius 5.5 and have Real-time full Rez playback no rendering. BTW edius is about 700 bucks.

  • Is a .tod fille a considerd a native avchd file? This may be a dumb question? Just wondering if .tod's will be supported...

  • It really is 8 cores running in hyperthreading making it look like 16 cores in the OS. I run a Dual E5520 Xeon CPU configuration. A PC similar to that of an Apple Workstation. I also run 4 Intel SSD's in Raid 0 for performance and hope to get more power using a GTX480 with CUDA acceleration.

  • Can you guys imagine this with a SSD in your system!

  • It's a sad thing they don't use OpenCL ... this way we are forced to buy a extreme overpriced card to do the same that a game card could do.

  • I don't think it's a magic of cores. I totally believe my "old school" quad core with 8gigs will do just fine. I only hope this will work on high-end "gamer" class GPU's. Quadro is way more expensive, and in reality it's not really faster than gamer class

  • Hmm this video is old.. saw it last year.

  • i'm going to get this then go crazy with fx yeah yeah yeah

  • man.. I'm going to cry.... why can't I have this now!! Seriously though, Nice work guys. Ever since CUDA came out I have been dreaming of this day. I just hope it works on my standard NVIDIA card, instead of a silly priced Quadro card.

  • wtf 16 cores? oO

  • I've got 32 cores ; ]

    just kidding ;p

  • This is freaking MAGIC.....
