@Zukhov1945 Mao Tse-Tung was one of the best Chinese leaders for leading them into a new age. He helped shape them from a struggling country that kept getting raped by Western powers into a Super power to rival America. Stalin helped the USSR form again into a super power to once again rival America. Gheghis Khan is seen as a mass murderer in some countries and Napoleon is sometimes seen as an anti-christ. so why not have Mao and Stalin? Lenin might be a better choice. It depends on their impact
@PotatoNirvash I don't think its threatening, though I never expected to hear the battle hymn of the republic in a minor key. I like it more when it'd be played more cheerfully
This game came out when I was in Kindergarten. Good thing I didn't start on the Civ craze until Civ II in middle school; I might have cried upon seeing a lowly phalanx destroy a mighty battleship. That would be like Ewoks destroying AT-STs. Hey, wait...
the one of russia is so... extremely russian... xD no idea why, however I like that of the romans, the egyptians, the indians because they are still being used xD
i never played this game (i've only played civ 2 and civ 4) but i like the 8-bit music. in fact, this game sounds like it has a better soundtrack than civ 2.
Abraham Lincoln the pedophile, Alexander the homosexual, Stalin the pimp, and Montezuma the Beverly Hills resident (the plastic surgery signals he's from there).
The reason that it plays the Turkish March as opposed to Goldberg Variation 4 like in all other versions is a mistake.Originally, instead of the Germans, there were to be the Ottomans-but they were replaced at the last minute. The music still exists in the files of all versions, and the amiga version just plays it instead of Fredrick's theme.
I'm not sure it was really a mistake though. They had 2 occasions to choose the 'correct' file (A500 and A1200 versions), and yet they still chose Turkish March. I reckon they decided that regardless of the name, the music sounded better.
I don't get why Mao and Stalin keep showing in Civ games, this is recent history and for sure these are NOT the heroes of China and Russia.
