@YAOMTC A lot of trip hop has a different focus than hip hop. The production throughout the music can be quite different but it can be the same. Trip hop can be called hip hop if it has the right lyrical values that hip hop should hold. If the focus of the track is more in the beat manipulation and sound qualities than doesn't it deserve to have its own name as much as it deserves to be related to its mother music?
