That senior editor dude, Art Something, his beady eyed head is just... really.... something. He looks some kind of bland robot dead eyed creation of something else equally bland... no features in his face or voice. He's off putting.
My Thomas Organ - Organ, model Californian 263 is a wonder to behold. Full of TDK inductors, the 262 was introduced in 1973 with it's built in genuine wah pedal ( listen to my post of Harry Wach Californian Here I Come sides A & B) and it is housed in a little metal box and mounted to the left of the organs volume pedal. It's frequency range appears to be broader than my guitar playing wah experiences, but not certain. The wah begins where the volume reaches max vol, but you can adjust. Awesome!
1. The thing I didn't like about the wah pedal was that when you turned it off you lost some tone between your guitar and amp. It really sounded like shit I had an old Morley wah that had one of those fake sounding "Univibe" sounds on it and it had a knob on the side to control the sound.
2. I would take that knob out of the wah pedal and leave it hanging on the side and it took that "lost tone curse" off when I did that. Soimneone FINALLY came up with a "bypass circuit" that cleaned things up. Made me want to get one again.
all you ppl who are saying wheres "favorite guitarist who uses wah and/or some popular person not mention", well maybe the documentors couldnt get them or they were busy did you think of that and to the person who mentioned tom morello....fuck you
I remember in the early 70's and having Thomas organ wah's some good, some not . So I would sell one by another searching for the right one. Than I finally look at the pot and adjusted the throw and like magic a bad pedal into a good one. Being a little kid sitting in my room and figuring that out ( as a lot of us did) was sooo cool.
If I were in the marketing dept of any of those companies, I'd create a Wah Custom Shop, we all end up tweaking the hell out of our wah's, so there's a market....
@johnnybeane i would only ever buy vintage vox and thomas organs wahs which are the same thing.
the reason being is that ive tried almost every jim dunlop and newer type wah pedals and they just dont sound as good as what a wah should sound like. but if you dont want to go the vintage route, i would recommend a newer vox wah. where as they dont sound like the real deal vintage, they still sound great right out of the box.

I hope they're selling this on dvd. Kinda like a coffee table book, or National Geographic on tv or something.
