I bought a Venus flytrap and there was two small pieces of sphagnum moss with some green coloring in it still and I was wondering if it is enough to grow new moss
@DooinMyWeena Sure, that should grow and produce more moss but will it get you alot any time soon, I'd say no. If your cool with taking great care of what you have, letting it do it's thing t'ill you have a reasonable amount to propagate then ya buy all means :).
I don't get it. It said that in growing sphagnum moss part 1, you said that you used distilled water to grow it, and it worked. But here, you said that if you pour distilled water and soaks in the moss, you kill it. So what are you trying to say? Please answer.
Beautiful, lush, green. Gotta love that stuff. I had some sprout up in my drosera scropiodes pot so Im gonna take some of that and start propigating it.... I think that cobraplants, heliamphora and cephalotus like it as a substrate... I guess cephalotus likes it some what dryer though....
Ya it's beautiful! I love it sooo much! Lol I just want more and more and more of it... haha
Your right, especially heliamphora ssp. Cobra plants will do well with sphagnum aswell because both plants like to stay cool, yet bright. Your right about cephalotus liking a drier environment, but younger plants and cuttings grow amazingly well in the moss.
Hmmm, not too sure if that;s a good idea. It honistly can be a risky hazard to your frogs... I find sphagnum to be safer then most other species considering some of my previous pacmans had it as a substrate and passed it through them with ease, but there is still a risk... Just so you know.
why is there green annoying words on the screen?

@AgustinTime My apologies, if you use TAP water it will kill the moss.

Fungi are more closely related to humans than they are to plants.
Anyway, good videos but where do you get the live moss in the first place?
missanna208 1 year ago
@missanna208 you can purchase it online or grown it from dried moss.

hmm ok thanks for the info so i should use sphagnum?

I think you'd be best using coco fiber. It's the best and safest substrate for most terrestrial amphibians.

Ok, I'll do that
