I have a stupid smart meter and since it's on the other side of the wall from the computer when it transmits, it comes over the speakers. I've also noticed a rise in computer problems which I attribute to this monster, not to mention a rise in the cost of usage.

Smart meters are causing health problems to many people across the country. I deeply resent that Delmarva Power has forced me to have one. I value my health above all else, and I cannot feel comfortable with having a smart meter on my house.

How awful that I've lost my basic human right to say no to a technolgy on my home that I do not want.

I wish that the puiblic would organize a protest at Delmarva and demand that they be removed. But only I seem to care around here.

@GLucas7797 Have you asked them what you are supposed to do? Stay sick and keep getting worse? Rack up some medical bills (IF you can find an environmental doctor) then take them to small claims court asking for the meter to be removed and the medical bills paid! I lived with it 9 months (FOUR meters on the other side of my LR wall) till I bled out about 50 places shaving my legs. I told them I ordered my own analogs (GE certified) and they came in 2 days and put 4 new analogs on.

Ours was cheap before the Smart Meter..we have even changed to accommodate the peak period..lol what a joke..

@backflow3908 I moved in a 4 plex that had 4 of them and didn't know a thing about them!. I started having all the symptoms. Waking up on the hour, ear ringing, headaches, lack of energy, inability to concentrate, AND my blood got very thin. Someone told me about them and when I looked, there they were. Utility kept saying 'they'd see what they could do'. Joke. Read about what happened in my other post above.

You forgot to mention that wireless "DUMB METERS" catch fire [even when used to monitor gas consumption]. They are electronic & have no dial or moving parts[so what]. How about some transparency explaining the biological effects on intracellular communication, disruption of homeostasis, DNA repair. This is an inconvenient truth = money

RF produced from Smart Meters have deleterious biological effects on the residents when these wireless devices are installed, it is not psychosomatic. I have been researching RF for many years, even the military documents from the worlds governments show deleterious effects from RF dating back to the 50's. If you care about your health start researching with an open mind <3 <3 <3

If someone has a smart idea about how we can use something other than wireless I am interested to know. I don't know everything and if people don't like smart meters that is ok with me too!

@meterdatamanagement IARC 31/05/2011: classifies Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans. Press release is displayed on IARC site, which part of the WHO. Taking this into consideration, & fact that wireless Internet is Radiofrequency, I always use wired modem. Wired modems work well & are a great alternative, rather than exposing children to carcinogenic RF frequencies. You write like you never heard of a wired modem? Re: smart meters, they are a health risk!

@meterdatamanagement To answer your question, that wireless internet is going to be a lot weaker than that wireless smart meter sending out info on your intimate electric usage. Who's going to get this data? If you wash clothes at 11:00 a.m. and then log on at 11:02 a.m. to the net, will you suddenly be hit by many adverts for detergent because the power company sold this info on the market? We don't know. The power companies don't care.

Force people to use less energy at a much higher price at peak periods. Because America is many years behind building new larger power plants to handle the expected increase usage of power. Know any other company that wants to sell less of a product? But increases the price of their items.

With a new smart meter they charge you double during peek times. You bill can easily double!!!!!!!! It's only smart for them.
