  • YOU NEED RIBBONS!!! i know its fun and you want to get right on them but without ribbons you can break your ankle

  • I know it's fun, but a think it's time to stop playing at home! I know it's fun( cause I have done it) but, if you really want to get better, is to pay attention in all classes, not just pointe, and don't play at home until you are more developed! These, shoes look nice, but I think you could get even better! Good luck!

  • sweetie, get some ribbions and elastic and NEVER go up on a bent leg!

  • @jazluva97 hihi maybee you can watch En pointe form the australian ballet they do in the beginning of the video pretty good exercises for pointe.

you can find it when you search en pointe and the video is from TheAustralianBallet

  • @jazluva97 yess i take ballet classes it's a shame you can't maybe you can ask your parents again??? and if you don't have any expirience it's a good idea to hold something when on pointe cause you need to be carefull to develop strong feet!!! and not dance on carpet and maybe even focus first on plie's and tighten your belly muscles!! and when not on pointe but for instance on socks you rol trought demi pointe and push when on the "ball of the foot' i dont know the word so you go over it

    xx kim

  • because your shos are still a little big you should have pointe shoe elastic so that they don't fall off the back of your heel and get some ribbons! I thort you was going to fall hehe anyways your are really good for first time just try not to sickle and go over onto the blcok more hope i helped carry on dancing x

  • your great! please check out my video on my channel, i could really use the support!!

  • WHERE ARE YOUR RIBBONS!!!???

  • Hello ! I found you very talended ! When your pointes will be "broken" it will be easier ! Excuse my english I'm french so... Bye

  • need the ribbons and elastic to make the bigger shoes fit.

  • if your shoes feel a bit big on you can stuff a little toilet paper in the front so they aren't as loose

  • hay are you going to add a new video on how you've progressed ???

  • Your good and have lovely arched feet, however its probably not a really good idea to practice without the ribbons or elastics on, these help keep your foot supported and in the right place, wouldn't want to cause injury through pointe shoes not good :)

  • You are so awesome!!!!!

  • I have the Gamba ones!! :D I love the position when you held your foot upon your other ankle, thats really good for first time :) x

  • make sure that you keep trying to get over the shoe as much as possible! i have been doing pointe for 2 1/2 years now and i love it! But make sure that as you start dancing more on pointe that you tape your toes with toe tape (you can get it at the local drugstore) because it prevents blisters from forming (which are quite painful!!)

  • push forward a little more with your arches n straighten your knees < then you will fully be on point and it will be easier to keep your balance

  • How long were you in regular ballet before you got onto point?

  • Comment removed

  • your pointe shose is beautiful

  • aww. i love the video. i actually watched from start to finish :) you should have put your ribbons on :O naughty. :) could you take a look at my pointe vids. as you have been on pointe for over a year now, i feel your probably better experienced than me, im just looking for a bit of constructive criticism

  • you said how the smaller size was too small and these are too big for you. i think you should try another shoe that fits you better. it will really benefit you. :) also, remember to keep your knees straight :) but great job

  • good!

  • great job for a beginner!!!! just put the ribbons on so you wont roll your foot and twist it

  • also, please don't sickle the feet. but other than those two, pretty good.

  • straighten the knees

  • You have really good turnout, make sure when you come down from pointe you go through your feet, but as it was your first time en pointe your feet probably werent strong enough and you didnt have ribbons, but really good well done!

  • To oYoungMoneyo, it's never to late and your not to old at all. I started up when I was 13 and I danced when I was younger as well. So anyway, it's amazing and you should def. start ASAP!!!!!

  • uh i want them so bad. i could of gotten them this year, but no i had to quit bc of other dances that i wanted to do more,,,stupid me

  • you need ribons on themm!!:O

  • not bad..... but i think you should start w/ the basics

  • Im a 13 year old girl and i really want to start ballet again i was in it from 6 to 10 years old and would i still be able to get in it again or is it to late for me ?

    some one please answer

  • and also whoever fitted these pointe shoes is terrible.. they should have found shoes that fit you properly.. and that depends of the shape and size of your foot… different makes do different shapes..

  • OMFG.. this is a horrible video .. especially when your shoe falls off.. who does this? you havent even broken them in here!! i was actually cringing at this video..

  • Hey Im 13 to but i have been on pointe for about 2 years now so Im just going to give you some advice! For your pointe shoes just break them in a little more, that will make life alot easier and you should buy those fabric circle to put onto the bloch so it doesnt wear as fast. Also try to skim more in your echappes instead of jumping onto the bloch. Just always remember to squeeze your piriformis muscle ( in your bum) and your core so you have maxium stability in all exercises. Good Job though

  • i get the impression you are holding onto something quite tightly

  • I used to do Ballet when I was 8. I stopped. I am 23 now and I know I can't go professional but I plan on being able to do pointe for recreational purposes and you and this video are inspiring to me. Keep it up and best of luck and I LOVE the socks!!!! =o)

  • ALWAYS sew on ur ribbons before doing ashappes (sorry i totally butchered the spelling lol)...or virtually anything for that matter (besides releves). also never put ur foot down and "push up" (plie) onto the top of ur shoes. yes there is an exception to this rule, but for just getting up on ur shoes thats not the method i recommend. still good work!!! :)

  • no ribbons? no support? BIG mistake

  • I am a HUGE fan of Ballet and I am very critical of dancers (men & women) and I watched you and even if this was your tenth or twentieth time on pointe I can see that if you believe, remember just believe you will become a beautiful dancer I would pay to see. Note: Think on pointe that you are a a bird and your arms are wings and they are lifting you with each move and soon you will convince yourself your lighter than air and believe. I know this because my ex was a ballerina and I learned this

  • @ashia4life313 Oh and no I am not a dancer, but I appreciate those whom are like you.

  • This song reminds me of white chicks

  • You still doing pointe work? Please tell me you have ribbons or at least elastics to keep the shoes on your feet properly... Just because you are up on pointe doesn't mean you can relax. Sometimes looks like your feet are working until you are up but then relaxing and just sitting in the shoe. Keep working with your feet to hold yourself up inside the shoe so it supports your foot instead of holding you up. I loved pointe work when I was in ballet school even if I am a guy :) Good job!

  • @tedsler I agree put on your straps, one good srain and it's all over girl.

  • what size are your feet? they seem so small

  • Shoes that fit you are so important.. perhaps think about stitching them in a bit yourself or something?? a good friend of mine has destroyed her feet because her shoes were the wrong size. Be super careful!!!

  • How old r u ? to have those shoes are brill i really want some! I do do ballet and i have just passed my 4th exam! x

  • dude you need a shoe that fits you or else you can seriously injure yourself.

  • you are most welcome XD

  • get ribbons on those asap. you don't want to hurt something right after you started.

  • Plz tell me where u got them cant find a pair anywere and my teacher wont let me barrow a pair so plz tell me thx

  • @WhiteWolfKarin I just got them at a dance store

u need to be fitted- I don't think most dance teachers would lend a pair- pointe shoes are very expensive

  • @jazluva97 Thank you very much

  • a little big and you shouldnt go up on them without ibbons and for first timers i suggest elastics ive been en pointe for 3 years trust me

  • if your shoes were to big then you should have had and elastic strip to hold them up your could of seriously ingured yourself elpecialy ithout wearing ribbons x

  • practices practice practice though i did notice at 0:52 seconds your heal could be much much more forward the foot that is in the front

  • @jellecins Thanks for the advice!

  • Just need to buy some ribbons cause then your ankles aren't supported and it's really easy to fall off. I am 12 and have been on pointe for nearly 3 years. I am from scotland but am at the royal ballet. You are a really good for your first time but just remember to keep your knee's straight and ribbons!:) xxx

  • OMG i now really want to go on Pointe now

P.S how long does it take to go on pointe from grade 3 in ballet?

  • @ShoutParaStackHero3 depends on your dance studio- sorry! My dance studio doesn't let you on pointe until ur done growing and theyre positive that you're ready, but some dance studios put u on at a much younger age. Sorry that I couldnt really answer!

  • @ShoutParaStackHero3 Well depending on your dancing school you'll probably be en pointe in three to four years from now but before pointe you get demi pointe where you don't actually go on your toes but demi pointe like you would probably be doing right now but the difference with normal shoes and demi pointe is that there is a block at the end but you dont actually go onto the block.I finally now have demi and waiting on pointe shoes and i understand your pain of waiting so long. :)

  • Oooh! I am 9 and I am going to be on pointe when I am 10

  • wow.... Congratulations! You must have felt very very very proud of yourself! That's the beautiful product of years or months of hard work... keep on working on your dreams ^-^

  • @PunkGeenie483 Thanks!!

  • just a tip, don't get anything's that too big for you. bigger or smaller shoes can really injure you. if you don't find the great fit, search again! just don't buy anything that doesn't fit well in the future ok :) oh and careful on the eschappes, if you're new to pointe, you shouldn't be doing that. but, well, we are all rebels aren't we ;)

  • amazing...

how long did you dance ballet before you did this?

  • heeee

your dancing pretty well but be sure that you go over the box;p

ooh and your sicling a b it make sure your holding your muscles tight

    XXX

ps im thirteen and i'm from holland sooo my english is not that good..

  • @kimiesoo21 Thanks for the advice! And don't worry, I understood you perfectly!

  • @kimiesoo21 Do you take classes? because I would love to learn how to do pointe, but my parents won't let me take ballet class, so I'll never learn...

  • omg your sooo lucky ur on pointe i cant wait till i get there quick question tho ik it avarages for every dancer but about usaully how long does it take to start doing pointe work??

  • im 12 and have been on pointe for nearly 2 years and you really shouldn't do that without ribbons , you are putting to much pressure on your ankles but good try and keep dancing (get ribbons) :)

  • WOW!! you are really good!!! especially for your first time! I can't wait to go on en pointe but I still have 1 or 2 years more:( But anyways you're REALLY GOOD!!!!

  • Pretty good, but make sure you're staying over your big toe.

Also, I get the feeling that your knees weren't always completely straight from the way you were standing. I've had trouble with that, but it's something too keep an eye on.

  • @Attackchildren Thanks! I'm working on that :)

  • @jazluva97 Why she doesnt have ribbons?

  • I have the same shoes. You are doing good. Keep it up! :D I enjoyed watching this, actually.

    ~Ash

  • @BurntRoses100 THanks!

  • strengthen your ankles first it could cause a major injury o.o

  • Good job but I think think the shoes are are kind of ugly lol ... at least you have pretty feet to make up for it (:

  • @allyweide haha it's okay I agree! theyre not too pretty, but I got new ones that fit me much better and are prettier :) (the pointe shoes in this video r dead now... that sounds strange how I worded that)

    and thanks!

  • @jazluva97 Good! (: I'm glad youre enjoying your time en pointe ;D Update video possibly?

  • you pretty could but you should realyy had the ribbions and the elastc sewd on but good luckk(:

  • The only thing you need to work at is flexibility in your ankles and getting over the boxes better!!! :) But great job!!

  • ur really good ^^

  • umm....well it looks like your kinda curling ur toes..and work those arches;) great job!

  • i love the color!

  • Hey! In regards to others asing about toe pads etc, reversible ones works wonders (i.e. gel on one side, and fabric/material on the other) my second favorite would be just plain material. They are typically thinner and allow you to feel the floor better. Currently I just use lambs wool (just the chunks of wool) when I wear my Mindens, as they have built in shock support. When I wear my Freed's I use my reversible ones, as they have more padding for the high vamp. 14 years dancing, 4 en pointe.

  • u shud rlly use elastic and ribbon because they rlly help support

  • ribbons help. if you dont have any you should always always always use tape, or socks, or a bandage, or SOMETHING because if they slip you could really get hurt. :)

  • Hey im 10 and going on pointe so do They hurt!!

  • those shoes are gorgeus

  • They just look ... weird ....

  • im 13 and I just got my first pointes a couple of weeks ago and i love them! They r freed studios opera. are your pointe shoes gamba 93's??

  • they look really good on your feet i like that shade of pink : )

  • does your fingers hurt a little? i may stai like that for 20 seconds but it may hurt a bit and i am a boy

  • those are so pretty!

  • If you found the larger size of gambas too large, why did you not go with another company? just wondering... and I'm surprised you were able to stay up without ribbons or elastics. Also, I'm not sure if it's just the fact you were missing ribbons, but your right shank looks like it's sickiling Mine do that too, and I require extra lamb's wool in the shoe. Good job though!!

  • would you recommend these shoes? i need a new pair soon my shoes are dying :(

  • Please don't take my comments as rude or deconstructive.

    1. You shouldn't be in your pointe shoes without a teacher, esp. when you're just starting.

    2. You need to make sure you roll through your shoe. You wont get any stronger if you just step onto pointe.

    3. You shouldn't be wearing shoes without ribbons and elastics.

    4. You should by absolutely no means be doing anything other than plie's and releve's, and NO work on one foot. You are not strong enough.

  • Uhmmmmm .. When you go up onto releve ..... You shoould be rolling throough your foot .. Not just pushing it up .... That's how you lose your aaarch .....

  • its funny how all us dancers spend so much time on youtube (thumbs up :])

  • @MsPuntapunta I always spend time here on youtube while i stretch, isn't that what all dancers do? :S

  • You did great and you have very pretty feet!!! I also have those socks.:-)

  • @dnsc9798 Thanks!! and haha that's cool :)

(sorry for not replying for four months)

  • the box looks very thick

  • you might wanna get a heel pad.. but your great!

  • se nota que son nuevas

  • you are great for your first time en pointe! Congratz! Here is a tip well first of all you are getting over your box nicely now here are the tips...

    1. point in your shoe ...helps your balence and other things like that

    2. try not to sickle in coupe etc.

I have to tell you that you are better than me when I first started! Good Luck! and Happy Dancing! <3

  • im sad i was ment to be on pointe shoes 3 yrs ago. i stopped ballet because i had no where to dance and now im doing it again but i am going on to pointe straight away and i ardly remember some basics :((

  • @butterscotch1997 You should have training for a little bit again, because you may have lost all of the strength. Aww, too bad to know you've forgotten D:

  • ITS BETTER IF POINTE SHOES ARE SMALLER THAN BIGGER!!!!! THEY STRECH OUT!!!! IT CAUSES BRUISING ON YOUR TOES!!!

  • @Bgirlforever1 bad netiquette.

  • are you holding onto anything? ur just standing like that all by urself? :O

  • @246810hiie No, for most of it I'm holding onto something :) (It was only one of my first times on pointe!!)

  • am geting pointe shoes soon any tips on padding?

  • @msballet101 Really just the average toe pad that you can get at any ballet store would be fine! Good luck!

  • @msballet101 I use foot ouch pads ( not sure if that's actually what they're called) and then lambs wool if you find it more comfortable to use along with the ouch pads. Good luck with pointe :)

  • @msballet101 Use Ouch pads!!!!! If they still hurt in the shoe then try adding extra cotten! GOOD LUCK :)

  • hey im ten and just started pointe today i luv it already but my toe pads are wack i need differen ones

    and your good

  • your great how long did it take you to get on pointe? :)

  • honey they're a little too long for you.. I hope you get a nicely fitted shoes now :)

  • omg ur sooo good luv ya

    2,232 views!!! wow

    keep dancing 4 like ever

    xoxo

thumbz up if u think she's amazing!!!

  • make sure you work on rolling through demi pointe onto pointe instead of stepping onto pointe. ;D

  • Hi, my advice is that you don't step up on to pointe, you need to roll up, through demi pointe. Also, make sure to push your arches out as far as you can go so that you have a good line and get over your box.

  • Hi, my advice is that you don't step up on to pointe, you need to roll up, through demi pointe. Also, make sure to push your arches out as far as you can go so that you have a good line and get over your box

  • hey im 12 and i got my first pointe shoes on saturday(30.4.11) and im finding a bit hard to stay up fora long time and i was wondering if u cud give me sum tips

  • @princessvampirechick It's always hard 2 to stay up for a while at first, rlly what u have to do is work on you muscles. Try doing 50 releves (on flat) in first position each day. Or you can make up some other variation of releves, as long as it's enough of them. Doing releves on one foot also helps. Don't worry, it will become easier! Good luck! (hope that helped)

  • @princessvampirechick If it is pain you have to deal with it because the pain means your feet are getting stronger.. I didnt have much pain when i started but if you are having trouble balancing try ...

    1. straitening your knees (over exaderate) I felt like I was...but I was not and i over exaderated to get my body used to the feeling of straight knees on pointe.

    2. put more weight in the big toe... look in a mirror... running out of room i will send you the rest after this one...

  • @princessvampirechick dont stay up for a long time its not that good if its your first year

  • ur very good. :)

  • @ihatesiblings Thank you!

  • @jazluva97 thanks heaps for the reply :)

youve inspired me, and my diving coach said that ballet will help with my posture and control whilst diving!

im definately gunna give it a try

    thanks xx

  • @xdiver4lifex I'm so glad that you're going to try it! Ballet DEFINITELY helps with posture. I think you'll do great! Good luck!

  • heey :)

im 13 and i really want to do ballet, and to go en pointe.

i know that its really hard work, and itll take me years to go en pointe

but i was wonderin if im too old to start? im a diver, so i can pointe my toes preety well

.and for your first time, your looking really good :)

  • @xdiver4lifex It's definitely not too late to start! Dance is wonderful and you will hopefully love it! It is A TON of work, but if you work hard you won't regret it. You'll be happy that you did it when you're older (btw I'm 13 too!). If you're a diver I'm sure you're in good shape and everything, and who knows, maybe diving helps with ballet! It's definitely not too late to start and I hope that you give it a shot because I think you'll love it!

  • You should seriously put ribbons on your toe shoes!

Also you shouldn't be able to have socks on at the same time. That means that they are WAY to big.

  • @ODanceFreakO Yeah, I know. Oh well. That was a while ago, and I actually just got new pointe shoes today (Blochs) and they are much better. Thanks for the comment!

  • @jazluva97 ur welcome

  • You should seriously put ribbons on your toe shoes!

  • you're quite good... just get your ribbons sewn on... it'll give you more support

I've only had two hours worth of pointe class... I dont think im bad, but my foot doesnt allow me to go all the way over the box :( so your feet arent that bad.

  • what type are they?

  • @saucynickjonasfan Gambas

  • @jazluva97 oh wow hahah sorry i didnt see that in the description or the beggining of the video

  • just work on ur arches other than that wonderful

  • Just out of curiosity, how exactly do your feet go when you dance like that? I'm not a ballet dancer but it has always interested me :) Like, do you dance like your walking on your toes? Or is it something more painful? lol, because it looks kinda painful but I just dont know how its done.

  • @Leeloominai356 That's a good question :) It's not like your walking on your toes... well sort of. Like the very tips of your toes, not the ball of your foot. Does that make sense? If not, reply and I'll try to explain it differently. And it is painful, not THAT bad, but you get used to it. The shoes are sort of cushioned on the bottom.

  • @jazluva97 Thanks! :) sorry for the late response too, lol

  • I posted a pointe vid! please chack it out and comment :D

  • Great job, but you shouldn't use pointes with no ribbons. Just saying!

  • @myhamsterable Yes I know that now!!! But thank you :)

  • @myhamsterable I agree but you don't just sew on ribbons to try them on in the store haha

  • Good job(:

  • ur great!!!!!!!

  • @kayakayaemma Thank you so much <3

  • i have just started pointe, im buying my first pointe shoes today.... i went on some the other day and my friend noticed i bent my knees, how do i stop doing that? :D well done your really good.... how long did it take to be able to do that? :D x

  • @emmadance161 Congratulations! Almost everyone has bent knees at 1st, but dont worry u'll get the hang of it. Practice making ur legs super straight! When ur leg is rlly straight u will b able 2 feel a stretch in 3 places: top of the ankle, underside of the knee and the front of the top of your leg. Hope that helps! Also this video was taken b4 my 1st pointe class, so w/ in the 1st week of having my shoes. Good luck u'll do gr8!!! Btw, just wondering, what type of pointe shoes do u have?

  • @emmadance161 The reason you're having a hard time straightening your knees is you need to stretch out your ankles. Try putting your feet under a piano or somewhere with about that amount of space(I put my feet under the drawer part of my desk) then straightening your knees as much as you can and holding that. Good luck :) (I'm new on pointe too)

  • Your good, but you should try to really go over your box more and your shoes look a little big, but otherwise...GOOD JOB!!! :D

  • What's it like going up for the first time?? :) I should be going en pointe in a month or so, i've been dancing for 8 years :D im soooooo excited! congrats :) xx

  • @LifeLoveBallet Wow congratulations! Pointe in ways isn't as bad as it sounds, but I think when u first go up its way easier than it rlly is. I found that at first it wasnt so bad and then after I took some classes it was pretty painful. But don't let me scare u... its not THAT bad and u'll do GREAT!!!! And congratz 2 u 2!!!

  • @jazluva97 Thanks, i started en pointe 3 weeks ago now and I looooooooove it!! :D your vid (crazy as it sounds :B ) really helped me just by showing me the basics <3xx

  • @LifeLoveBallet Wow I'm so glad that my video helped you!!! I defiantly did not intend on helping people through this video at first, but now that I know I have that's really awesome!!!! By the way, congratulations! Pointe is such a great achievement, and I'm sure you will do great! Good luck!!

  • You have very good bone structure for high arches .

However u were a bit shakey , But it is ur first time .

    Good job .

My suggestion is 100 releves in first , 100 in second , 50 in third , 50 in fourth , and 75 in fith evrey day . that will help :)

  • @cls849 Thanks so much! I'll defiantly try that! Do you know of any stretches that I can do to work on my arches?

  • @jazluva97 Besides the releves ,

Try a theraband also known as an excersise band . Use it to flex and point your feet . You can buy one online . Also try picking up marbles with each foot and putting them into a cup . ( i know it sounds wierd but it works !) While ur sitting watching

t.v even just point ur feet . Anything will help

    Hope I helped (:

  • @jazluva97 I said this to emmadance161: Try putting your feet under a piano or somewhere with about that amount of space(I put my feet under the drawer part of my desk) then straightening your knees as much as you can and holding that.

  • @MizHappyPerson Thank you so much I will defiantly try that!! And Happy New Year!! :)
