it's kind of frustrating to deal with Taiwan politics when all the issues revolve around that tiny little island. I mean, if you are already in US and you probably would remain in North America for career, then it really defeats the point of why care about the politics on that little island. If you gonna care, might as well put more care on China, cuz that's where the market is heading.
It's kind of discouraging being a young Taiwanese American and trying to get involved. All the news is usually in Mandarin and i can't read it and I don't understand most of it. And like Mr. Liaw it's even harder when you're not surrounded by the people who share your views. It's great to see there are resources and people who care. In the end, knowledge really is key. I wish they'd discuss politics more at the camps though.
