  • Johnathon Cain just RIPPED my heart out

  • No steve perry=no Journey

  • WHO THE FUCK WOULD CHEAT ON STEVE PERRY?!?!?!?!

  • doin the deal...the wild thing.

  • Behind never said Robert Fleischman, the 1st singer replaced by Steve Perry

  • IS STEVE WEARING A DRESS AT 02:03 ??????? LOL

  • @PopCulture20 red dress is her signature clothing. the other guy Gregg said he's out, the could not pay him a million dollar wearing dresses. they were used to be a musicians band but became a Steve Perry own band.

  • I caught the Infinity tour at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Ca. Steve came out on a couple of occasions, but 75% of the concert was just the 4 of them jamming to tunes off of the 1st 3 albums. It would have been amazing to have footage or audio released of that tour.

  • @ 2:16 when steve takes a breath he really lives the music,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • a godlike will return,,,maybe?

  • Neil, Ross and all the guys were cool but Rollie was the problem all along. He resented steve because he wanted to be the singer but couldent cut it on his own.

  • @DreamScape799 First of all, it's "Rolie". Second, if he was the problem, why did he quit ? It's clear he quit for the exact reason he says here. He was sick of travelling. Most people who aren't musicians don't understand how you can get fed up with being on the road. Well, you can. Doesn't mean you're an asshole or a loser. Geezzz...

  • @derhandtrommler You gotta love people who don't know what they're talking about. Rolie couldn't cut it? You and I know better. Rolie is a legend and my favorite Journey songs are the ones he and Perry traded vocals on. "Just The Same Way", "Feeling That Way", and "Anytime", to name a few. As good as anything Journey ever did, in my opinion. Santana must have felt Rolie could "cut it" as well.

  • @derhandtrommler Most of what you say is very true..But Rolie did resent Steve Perry because he had gained more control of the band then Rolie had..But the road is hard on this type of touring

  • Neil Schon and Steve Perry are brothers, and they do love each other, the problem is that like a family that bickers, forgiveness is hard to do among brothers.

  • steve perry's in the band, deal with it

  • Isn't this proof they belong in the Rock Hall. Who cares what line up they come up with to induct. I'm sure they are smart enough to make it happen (whoever makes those decisions). Put Rollie and Cain both in, who the hell cares. They just need to be recognized for the brilliance they were.

  • @MusicfaninMO neil schon doesn't want to

  • @MusicfaninMO i concur 100% they are my favorite band of all time. I just saw them over the weekend (first time). It was good but seeing them with steve perry would have been epic. They need to be in the rock and roll hall of fame. Bring back steve perry, steve smith hell greg rollie too. Make a great record get back on the charts. Have a farewell tour and walk away when it's over with everyone happy and satisfied.

  • @reston81 i agree they should try doing one album with the late 70s Journey just once and we could be satisfied.

  • screw every sound alike.....GET BACK TOGETHER!!!!

  • @metmike100975 I agree...that would be so special...

  • Ego...Ego...always the f.....Ego. Always the same shit between musicians and singers...The front guy has more attention and the problem starts..Steve changed the original style of journey, but took it to where it would maybe NEVER be without him. Proof of that? They searched a guy who tries to sing like Steve. Why don´t thay go back to their old style then, if it was better???

  • watch this whole series- the best -steve the best!

  • the band will never be the same,i feel sorry for the idiots today paying over 100 dollars too see a coverband without steve perry.journey 78-96

  • I was 15 yrs. old. I woke up in the Adams Co Jail west union Ohio. I could barely see a thin blue sliver of sky through the hall window. Someone in the cell next to me had a radio and wheel in the Sky was playing I heard that and somehow knew whatever happened I'd be O.K.

  • "Neal and I looked at each other and said no. No way." Were you on crack? Steve Perry's voice equals AWESOME!

  • @83ishgirl They said that not because of Perry's talent or lack thereof, which was astronomical, but because they knew his style of singing would change the energy of the band, which had been a very jazzy, progressive rock band into something too mainstream for their personal liking.

  • 12:28 that guy is fucking badass!!!

  • BUT HONEY....IT WORKED! KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN STEVIE!

  • Perrytastic!

  • And the award for the biggest crybaby in rock history goes to............

  • To add to what I just posted, I looked it up and Herbie Herbert fired him.

  • I believe it was management because at this point, Perry didn't have that much control of the band.

  • my band will we on VH1 soon

  • i'm completely getting a Leif Garrett vibe from Neal Schon...those guys could be brothers...same voice even

  • Wow it's crazy how similar the stories of journey and Styx are. Both were rockbands that rose to the top with a soft rock ballad. And both guitarists disapproved

  • hottie alert at 12:05!!

  • Greg Rolie was really cute back in his young days... a bit chubby but cute !!

  • Interesting that they totally left out the Fleischmann years and the fact that Robert Fleischmann completed the lyrics to 'Wheel In The Sky'. Nothing about the fact that Aynsley Dunbar left (or was fired) after the 'Departure' album eiother?

  • @dharmaseed

Dunbar was fired because he didn't get along with the management, so that is why Steve Smith appears on Evolution. Also, no one wants to hear about a guy who wrote a few songs when there is Steve Perry to talk about!

    You rock Steve!

  • @TheMuddy68 Management, or Perry?

  • Comment removed

  • Sorrily, Perry's ego caught up with the band. And that is sorrily what was the ultimate problem as evidenced by his remarks throughout this.

  • I bet that Neil has an ego the size of the planet we live on.

  • @LillyPickle3000And his solo album SUCKED! ROFL!

  • Journey's a fantastic band. There will never be another Steve Perry, but listen to their new singer Arnel Pineda. He's never gonna be better than Steve, but he's incredible!

  • geez i can relate to this, 18 years now an Im still trying to be heard..dont think he had to slog it out that long for a break though

  • @swimbythesea I hear ya there; as a musician/songwriter myself, I`m still waitin for that big time myself. Where`s our Behind The Music? LOL

  • When they visit the kid and talk about it. I admit I got teary eyed.

  • thanks for uploading!

  • Steve Perry is the best ever
