@thisismyusername1489 The same way, if you're serious about this stuff though, it helps to use a wacom tablet, and to have a professional program like Abobe illustrator or photoshop or Corel painter or draw.
Hey, I realize you have 141 comments, and the chance of an answer is very slim.
But may i ask where you using the pen-tool while doing the hair ? it was done very beautifully,.
how do you hold your tablet when you draw, and do you ever find your self rotating the tablet, do sometimes but , i don't know if it is good for my art.
Paint Tool Sai ( in vector layer ) has an amazing line art, have been told it's the best, you can use it for 30 days and its only a 10mb download, Thankz 4 vid
this is a tutorial because some ppl are able to learn watching the process. And there is the possibility to comment and ask. I'll certainly awnser or another person who understand the matters.
You're welcome. One thing I really liked that you did was when you flipped the image horizontally for a moment. That's one of the best ways to confirm that your drawing is proportionate. People sometimes have a tendency to "fall in love" with their drawings as they are doing them, and they become unable to see where the drawing is disproportionate or off in some way stylistically. Flipping the image horizontally is the best way to make sure that your drawing is actually correct.
The tapered ends are probably due to the artist using a tablet to draw. Such a tablets react to pressure so that you can assign more or less pressure to get thicker or thinner lines. The resulst look more natural. You can get a beginner's tablet for I think as cheap as 50 bucks but they are of course not recommended for serious work. Wacom is one of companies that produces these tablets. There are others though but I dont know them.
Gimp and OpenCanvas 1.1 are both programs similar to Photoshop, and they're free for download. :) They're not quite like Photoshop, but they get the job done.
How can you be so good at this?!?! I dont understand how your hand can be so steady. Im using the brush tool and my lines all over the place. it looks like some badly drawn crayon art. *crys*
I have a tablet myself and I heard that the fancy wacom tablets straightens your lines for you (so you don't have bumpy lines when drawing pics =D), but I was wondering, do you have a bamboo fun tablet? Thats what I have. Or do you have the wacom tablet you draw on?
why dont you try using the path tool, take a look at my video, it shows you what it looks like... :) i use that for my line art, it makes it harder to colour but it looks quite good
Wacom Tablet is an digital Interface (i couldn't think of a better way to say it :( ) which allows you to take control of your cursor with a pen most line art users use something like what she is using.
they can cost alot but there is good ones are very good prices sometimes you may even find a bargin!
Good work! I just want to ask you something. I do also draw on tablet and stuff, but I want to make video's of how I draw it, like you just did. But how do you do that? How can you get this in a video?
Where can I get a tablet I can't find one I've already tried Office Max and found out they dind'nt sell them there anymore where can I find one? Please reply!
I have very unsteady hands, my drawings have been turning out like the sketchwork and I was wondering if there were any photoshop settings that could help minimize the shake? I'm running CS2.
great video! You have a very steady hand - are you using a mouse?
And about Camtasia - does it slow up your comp when you're using photoshop at the same time? I was using a different program and it did, big time, so it made making the video a very tortuous process!
ok how do u get he picture to trace like that onto another piece of paper? like I know you have to make it invisible to see what ur doing but when I do that I get grey and white squares. please help me I'm so lost.
Could you tell me how you did the lineart from the very beginning? With the layers and everything. PM me if you want. Or tell me here. Thanks in advence.
Quick question: how do you keep your lines so straight? Because when I draw using my tablet, it takes me a bunch of strokes before I've got a straight line that follows my lineart the way I want it. Is it the resolution you're working at? Or just practice? Also, how long have you been working with a tablet?
Well i guess that wasn't so quick... But whatever, I'm curious =P. Anyway, props on the picture. It's very pretty ^^
How The Hell can u guys draw with a mouse i am a great at drawing but not on the computer and its much more funner normally becuase in the computer u just have effects and that means its not really drawing.
hey dude i have cs2 but i dunno how you got that set up lol how do you get the overview of the picture in the top right corner? and how come you have three laers, i thought you only had the black and blue lol? oh and what did you make your canvas size?
I drew the blue lines on a different layer than the black lines. To let only the black ones you just click on the little eye in front of the layer you don't wannna see...(hope you understand ;_; )
You have amazing skill and pen control. Did you get that way through lots of practice? Or are you naturally gifted? Or both? To me it looks like the last one :)
Could I just ask what size and resolution you're using? Your image is very crisp.
I recorded with a trial version of Camtasia. But it's a paid program. Some ppl indicated Camstudio that is a freeware but I didn find it for download. =/
Lol, this is the 3rd time I try to awnser you, but youtube doesnt let me link you a image...
So I'll just try to explain here...
The brush I use is a normal one, that comes with Photoshop, it's the first one I guess. The pointed tips are an option: "Pen pressure" for pen tablet users. :) You can chose it in the brush settings.
I like this! Especially how you kept messing around with the eyes, you know how you moved them? It was really neat =3 And what not x.x..Your using Paint Shop?
is the pen the only manual system in photoshop CS3?????? I mean the straight line.. it does not make much of a line but with a pattern. how do I fix that...
I dont have the same brush that u used to do this lineart :S:S can u tell me how can i have it in my toshop ? my current version is Cs2 so please mp me ^^

ShadowRockstar15 2 years ago

ShadowRockstar15 2 years ago

do you have to get a pen tablet to make this?

not really
but without a pen tablet you may have trouble getting the line straight, so I'd suggest you to use the Pen Tool. :)

C0wb0yc00l 3 years ago
Well, i dunno about settings. You could try drawing on a higher resolution, like 300% of the original size. :)
juliafarias 3 years ago
If it's your hands shaking, cut down on the sugar and maybe try a different brush setting, such as trailing and pressure sensitivity.
BUT, if the cursor is sorta twiddling around in place, it might be the monitor causing interference with your tablet.

ChicagoGirl123 3 years ago
Oh, that's beacause your BG and sketch lines are in the same layer. I worked with three layers:
1st to the white bg
2nd to the blue sketch line
3rd to the black lineart.
So whei I wanted to see how my inked version was going I just hid the sketch layer.
I think in your case you can just create a new layer, paint it white and drag it under your sketch layer...
Then when you hid the middle layer you can see the inked version on a white bg.
Thank you for the comment. Hope I could help you.
