Kodak M1033 Review

Hey i just bought this camera second hand last week and it's been treating me great lately.

I already have a Waterproof camera but mine as with most waterproof cameras don't have shutters, so in my pocket the lens screen can be easily scratched. I bought this one from a pawn shop and it suites my needs just great =D

No problems so far with the telescopic lens or any on/off problems. Hope it stays that way :D

I have this camera..Out Door pictures are not less than SLR quality ..But when comes to indoor..these pictures sucks...Not even a single photo inside our home came out good. Is it same for every body?

HELPPPP ME MY M1033 kodak cam is broke well not really i turned it on and it takes pics but i dont see what im shooting the screen is just black i see the pic when i transfer them but wtf why is it just black? i opened it up and moved the screen and it started showing what i was shooting but when i put it back in its just black n0ow WTF HELPPP!!!!!!

Good review. Seems you failed to mention one very high point of this camera: EASE OF USE. I use many different cameras, but this is the one I fall back on to take quick photos. My dad (who still can't work his own camera smoothly after 5 yrs, no joke) snagged my M1033. He came back with it and asked me to find one for him. Just picked on up on eBay 20mins ago.

-Basically, there are very few buttons on this camera, and when turned on, it is on full auto and is the epitome of "point-and-shoot".

The camera should auto focus.... if not switch to video mode then check under the main settings. There should be an option to set auto focus.

if it doesnt focus automaticly, use macro mode. I LOVE THIS CAMERA

how do you find the battery life with this camera?? I have one and the battery life is horrible. I'll charge it use it for maybe 15 min and the low battery light will come on. I don't know if thats normal or because mine is refurbished

A refurbished camera should not even do this. Please contact Kodak and explain your situation. They should send you a replacement.

My Video setting is set to HD. Try increasing the light in your shots. This camera in video mode does not work well in low light conditions. If it is extremely bad then you might want to exchange the camera.

One more question, when you shake the camera slightly, do you hear a little rattling noise coming from the camera?

I hear a slight noise, but nothing unusual. Just the standard high pitched buzz. It goes away for me though. And before you pointed it out I never noticed.

It seems the camera only tells you that you have low battery. There does not seem to be a power meter.

There does not seem to be a difference between the specifications, on the kodak website the m1093 scored 5 stars while the kodak m1033 scored 4. It would seem the kodak m1093 might be better, but I can not say.

Hi sOmegirl, I can't personally say as I have never tried the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S750. The Kodak M1073 does have more mega pixels and a larger screen. I enjoy my camera very much and like I said suggest it for everyone. If you want I can upload more test footage of the camera. Let me know if you would like me to. Hope this helps. -Marcham89

hey, just to reply to that aswell, i did my research and right now the only sony that shoots in HD video is the t500. So your much better off with the kodak if that is important to you. I compared the 1073 and the 1033, and opted to go with the 1033. I didnt really like the touchscreen that is found on the 1073 and the 1273

another question, have you had the chance to do alot of video with this? and can you zoom while shooting??

I do record all the family events including christmas with this camera. You can zoom while shooting, but when zooming the camera it becomes blurry and also the sound of zooming is evident in video playback.
