3rd gen eclipses are the worst/slowest eclipses ever made. They were built for the chicks unlike 1g, or 2g's. And don't be a ricer and use your o2 sensors as an excuse. The car is in closed loop when you floor it and the o2 sensors don't do shit.

And tell the guy with the bmw that he's losing power with his "Custom Intake". There's only like 2 intake kits out there that have actually been proven to give any increase in power at all over stock. It's NOT a honda.

@dadavemyster its open loop on 100% throttle... cause i use Torque Apps with Bluetooth OBD2 to read data. Bad o2 sensors hurts engine performance...

@eclipse3248 I said it backwards, the car is in "Open Loop" when it hits WOT which means it IGNORES the o2 sensors. Mitsubishis dont come factory wideband o2 sensors they aren't even capable of giving an accurate reading at WOT yet alone make adjustments.. Bad o2 sensors hurt engine performance at Idle and below 35% TPS while in closed loop. That is all.

@dadavemyster why do ppl hate on 3g and 4g eclipses? love my 3g gt. my 1995 gs eclipse blow smoke at 109k miles got me beat by civic!!! EX civics not even si civics. my 91 gst blow up on me at 90k miles.but now my 3g tags say "8 UR Si" cause it does. bone stock besides intake. 146k miles runs like it did at 54k miles! could probably tow a 1g or 2g none turbo with my gt 1/4 mile faster than it will under its own power. sure it only runs a 15.6 but i prefer my yamaha R1 on track day.10.9 all day

@tammo2011 I dont know about that. I took out a 328 with a dinan tune and intake with a 2000 eclipse gt 5 spd with just an air filter and a clutch that was slipping slightly. Oh and I did it on 89 octane not the recommended 91 octane. But then again all 3 are really slow cars lol

I own a 2001 eclipse and its not a slouch, i out ran a Cobalt SS turbo with no problems, he caught be, but I took off faster. I don't know where it gets all its power from, as far as i know its not modded. I've been on the interstate and got up to 115 mph while going 65 or so, just in a matter of seconds. I live in WV though not a good idea with curvy roads:D

2000-05 (6g72) have distributors... the bmw is more advanced in technology. wonder how it would do against a 6g75. i think mitsu shouldve had some sort of VVT in this generation eclipse, it wouldve made a bigger difference... well i believe

@BassnEclipse No way in hell your girlfriend knows how to drive. An E46 M3 is fathoms faster than an Eclipse GSX, much less a FWD, naturally-aspirated Eclipse GT. You'd have to drop a good 80 additional horses at the wheels, or get a real Mitsubishi (Evo), to be able to keep up with a competent 2005 M3 driver.

Obviously there's no mods on this gt. 03 BMW 330i is faster then eclipses 01-03. Stock Eclipse and a 330i is not much of a contest. Its a 16 second cars vs a 14 second car.
