@011722615 Could be because it's a mish-mash of other films: Alien, Terminator, StarTrek (1st movie with 'Vega'), The Thing, etc and doesn't quite deliver with it's own ideas and character.

And all the minorities and odd balls die, noble sacrifices where needed, and the ones to survive are the good old wholesome white Americans. Just like the safe formula.
