I like how they want Sakai to take on Passard, but I don't like how they played up Sakai vs Chen as the FINAL BATTLE and Sakai sounded like he was mentally done at the end of his battle with Chen. He looked surprised when Chairman Kaga announced he would in fact be going against Passard. Imo, they should have just saved Passard for the 21st Century Battles Special, and had him go against Komei Nakamura to settle the tie from the World Cup.

Congrats to Chef Sakai..great battle by both men. The 2 chefs cooking skills are dwarfed by their humility and respect they have for one another..that is GREAT to see. Bobby Flay is a great chef, but he is a small boy when it comes to being a great person as these two have just demonstrated. Seems like the results were pretty much scripted. It seems strange that Alain Passard was at the location to unveal the next episode. Also the results seems almost expected, its like as if the producers are making results that appealed to the general public. It seems that the results of Iron Chef are more a popularity contest than anything else, which really brings me to question the results of a great many episodes in this show.
