  • im a 53 year young blackman and remember when this first hit the stores. i was also too high to get the lyrics. thanks 4 posting

  • yes opens for no one

  • I like this song, the music for sure, but did they use a random word generator for the lyrics?

  • @spmauzy its obvious your not a Yes fan. The singer jon is known for his interesting lyrics.

  • OMG...the visions and flashbacks from my youth appear at the beginning of this song. I so miss the 80's. Life was simple, stress free and.....fine.

  • Great tune

  • The truth of sport plays rings around you - and ain't that a bitch! Thxs for the post.

  • What the heck ever happened to music like this?!?

  • Bought this album in Japan in "80". Listened to it up until my divorce, and I guess my ex's "whatever" is listening to it now....Still love this song regardless

  • @IRA1916Dublin You should go get it back.

  • how did you get ads to work for this :(

  • Whats that slide instrument Howe is playing called? Afriend of mine just took an elk at 8000 ft in NM

  • LETS GO SKIING IN TAOS.

  • I love this song.

  • this whole album wasnt strange at all , its all about skiing , mountain life being in switzerland etc ,

  • Thanks to Joe E. for helping me find another good one!!!

Many thanks to you, Andrea for posting!!!

  • This song so abstract and strange it's fucking awesome.

  • this song is so fucking awesome.

  • taking lead singer dismay lasts perfectly laugh inide the next 24 hours pain

    like an obama ratio

    thus less ounch

  • ありがとう、イエス。

  • tengo este lp en vinilo,es maravilloso.saludos.

  • wowwww thanks ann6079

  • amazing song, how can anyone write something like this, brilliant

  • this is one of my favourite yes tracks, difficuilt to admit it at the time though, as punk was really taking of and what had been really cool for a 14 year old bristolian schoolboy to like, just 18 months earlier became a joke. however, this still sounds great so who had the last laugh!

  • YES at their peak ! Their harmonies, melody lines and energy showed through on this album like no other. Made me pull out my Ricky 4001 and play along. I think I'll take a look out of the window.

  • great song

  • The guitar playing both sound and style in this reminds me quite alot of George Harrison's "Wah-Wah" from 'All Things Must Pass' album.

  • Classic YES

  • Six incredibly wonderful albums:

    1. The Yes Album

    2. Close to the Edge

    3. Relayer

    4. Fragile

    5. Tales from Topographic Oceans

    6. Going for the One

  • The Rick-comes-back-at-last album, probably their third best, after Relayer and Fragile. Jon Anderson's gently self-mocking lyrics are just a great bonus!

  • my favorite album next to fragile. thanks for the lyrics. very strange. Now the verses I've sang Don't add much weight to the story in my head So I'm thinking I should go and write a punch line But they're so hard to find In my cosmic mind So I think I'll take a look out of the window When I think about you I don't feel low N'should I really chase so hard The truth of sport plays rings around you
  • Pretty crazy, this is when Yes really rocks.Inventive.

  • still my favorite tune of all time.

  • I love this tune.I remember in 1979 when i heard this. The bass line just hovers all the scale .Its so solid and goes right thru it!!!!

  • Hey Andrea,

By posting this song, you gave me back something I lost so long ago...my youth...Thank you so much. Life Is Just Fabulous.

  • You're welcome...so glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • @pamphish it is amazing how great music was back then. turning 50 this year i am starting to appreciate more and more the simpler and less hectic times.

  • Andrea thanks for putting this up...It defines my teenage years and i still hang on to it (basically because it's stunning!). Thanks again. Paul

  • This must be one of the best rock songs ever. There's a guitarist called tom colquhoun who has some songs on youtube and he says that he's going to do a version of this song on 2 guitars at the same time!Should be worth a look.

  • this is simply Brilliant!

  • seen them 3 times at the new haven colisium. they did this tour in the round, one of my favorites yes songs.

  • I can honesty say the record gives me a boner !!!!

It's music at it's very best....

  • It's the only yes song I've ever liked.

  • thats too bad :[

  • Me too brother...killer tune tho!

  • Does anyone know what Chris sings when Jon's singing the first few lines?

  • I used to know but have forgotten- will get back to you if I remember

  • Lmao, I was just talking about this with my friend a few days ago.

We used to think it was "coke and cheetos"

    It's really "Open Windows" :-p

  • Most of the time when I listen to this song I am fucking fucked up. Thank you Yes, When I think about you, I don't feel low.

  • brings me back 30+ years, first saw yes with david sancious opening i think in 1976

  • thank you,i am on my GT250 again, i have no beer belly, tax was something my dad paid, super, again thank you!

  • You're welcome and thanks! :)

  • I am off my RD 250......and like you without a beer belly, hoping for something better than what was then........but those were the best days and we didn't even know it man

  • oh you who know - we agree

  • Wouldn't it be nice if the bands out there that are currently actually making MUSIC of this quality were actually looked and publicized by the record lables as opposed to most of the crap that they sign on and then and then practically force-feed us?!!

  • one of the most ingenious basslines ever

  • nice

  • Great great great forever fresh!

  • Those guys hardly move while playing, brilliant!

  • This song is just too brilliant!

  • Nothing like them. You never hear anyone say; hey, they sound like Yes. True Original.

  • Totally agree with you there...they have sooo many great classics that no one can touch!

  • Hey thank you so much for posting this great yes song , I remember when this album came out cause I had it. I especially liked this song but I never quite knew the words! Thanks also for putting the words here, I always wondered what they were. Have been a YES fan since the 70"s and 2 years ago I met Jon Anderson while he was doing a solo tour in Seattle, it was such a joy to finally meet and speak with him now that I am 50 years old and still love their music. Thanks! :)

  • Hey, that's so awesome that you got to meet Jon Anderson! He's got such a wonderful voice! I love Yes, too! :)

  • Thank you ann6079 i love good ole yes,

  • love this tune!!

  • The only song I know of that Chris plays his 8string 4008 rickenbacker........

  • Great tune...thanks for posting! :)

  • God, this song isn't even played on my local Classic Rock station anymore. I've always heard this without knowing the words so this is a rare occasion for me to read the lyrics in the Description area ;-]

Y'know it's funny as I have most CDs these guys put together when not in Yes, but not one Yes album itself, which isn't like me. Thank you for bringing this song back and the AOR music memories!

  • jammin' tune!!! nice choice and great job on the vid!!! :)
