Obviously , some of the motivation behind much of this anti-immigration sentiment is out of a desired to restore a predominant white society, and not much because of the specific political ideology one ethnic group tends to hold. There are just as many white ethnic groups such as jewish americans and white predominant religious groups such as catholics and evangelicals that tend to support some variant of statist, yet don't see these anti-immigration opponents wanting to restrict them from the US
@Apptendo I guess you might say that. However, on some issues I am not incredibly libertarian anymore. For instance, I'm supportive of significant government involvement in health care and I am supportive of a small welfare state.
@ithinkronpaulissmart If you support the state helping the poor, with regards to healthcare, look up Steven Landsburg, he has some good arguments as to why, if you want the poor to be better off, just give them money. Or did you mean a different type of intervention?
@SaviorOfLogic With regards to health care I was more referring to the need (in my opinion) of certain regulations with regards to insurance. I don't have my mind made up, but I probably support either mandatory saving into health savings accounts or some form of individual mandate. I might make a video about this in the future.
@ithinkronpaulissmart OK, I think Singapore has that type of system. Is it because you think people are too stupid to save for disaster (an arguable point)?
@SaviorOfLogic Most people don't have the stomach (myself included) to allow people who choose not to buy health insurance die. Of course, if people know they will be taken care of if they get sick even if they don't buy insurance, no one will buy insurance. So I think the best answer to that problem would be to force people to get coverage.
You're right that Singapore has a mandatory saving scheme, and they have one of the cheapest and most effective health care systems in the world.
@ithinkronpaulissmart Interesting. I can't say I agree. However, in a statist paradigm, it is mostly free and is likely to succeed (mostly for the benefit of big business mind you), so I give support to this relative to other (non-market) proposals :)
9:25 Ron Paul wants the government out of the issue of marriage all together and want Abortion decided at the states.
