becoming a firefighter, and actually fighting fire has been one of the best things I've ever done in life. It does not stop with the fire though... motor vehicle accidents will get your attention real fast and I've seen some horrific things, but in the end.. it is all worth it to make someone elses day better and help them out of a bad situation..

both backdraft and ladder 49 are good movies. my father, my best friend and my boyfriend are all fireman. i pray for them all to stay safe. so i can make a connection with the movies. its a whole lot different then you think, even as volenteer firefighting. they rissk their only lives to save people who sometimes for give a fuck about what happens to them. i think people should show alittle more respect for them,but im not saying everyone is like that

backdraft sucked. totally unrealistic. only realistic part was the station scenes after the first big fire that brian was on.

To be honest, Backdraft does a good job showing the movement of fire. When it comes to actually being inside a structure during a fire, if you want to get a sense of what it's like.....close your eyes. Would not be a very good movie though if all you saw during firefighting scenes was a big, black, scene.

I'm not really big with Backdraft, I think Ladder 49 is way better only because Ladder 49 is much more realistic. I mean with Backdraft, its still a good movie, I think at least, one of the very few firefighting movies out there, which in my opinion needs to change. With Backdraft, its more of worst case scenario, I mean its not always like that at all. But yea, I would agree with you there, Ladder 49 tops.
