I loved the Sanctuary. First time I went was in 1994 to an over 14's rave called Evolution. I was only 13 at the time. Can't imagine the kids of today being given that kind of freedom. All the best DJ's were there. I went many more times in the following years. I would've loved to have been there on the final night but it looks like the people who were there gave it a great send-off.

i was talking to a guy that got kicked out he was offered some pills turns out it was security i got kicked out there were 2 girls walking round about 16 who had got in then got kicked out there wern`t getting picked up for about 5 hours

i think they were just kicking people out to get more people in = more money

I was at this rave, saying goodbye to the sanctuary :( , was a wicked night, some of the best sets ever heard! djs and mcs were just as sad to see it go, was defo a special night to remember.

It went on longer at the end because everyone wanted more!

then a crowd of us went along to an illegal rave on a big feild somewhere, not sure exactly where we were? lol.

The sanctuary was the best venue ever, i went to my first rave there, accelerated culture 13. after it closed things were never the same. Im getting too old now for raves but have great memories of that historic venue.

Energy 97 was just outside milton keynes in a massive field. Loads of tents and proper happy hardcore. That was the last rave i went to apart from westfest on saturday.. The atmosphere has gone. Everyone looked pissed off and unsocialble. Bring back the old days.

Part of the scene died when that place got demolished! Skelter should av done the last ever event there in conjunction wiv Dreamscape they had the most and best events there! Gutted!

Awesome, thanks for posting this. I wasn't actually aware that they had demolished the Sanctuary man, that sux! I'm guessing the Rollers building went too? Went to my first rave there back in 97, Helter Skelter Energy, up there with the best memories of my life.

The Sanctuary and Rollers is now an Asda and Ikea. I live just down the road from there and can't believe that one of the places I spent many a night gurning my face off is now the place I do my weekly shopping.
