"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God....." Exodus 20.
Christ's sacrifice on the cross was a one time deal. Claiming to sacrifice a graven image of Christ called the eucharist over and over again millions upon millions of times is to deny the very heart of the gospels, pulling Christ down from the cross and refusing to accept His power to save us from sin His way.
Roman Catholics use scripture, the books of the apocrypha and tradition as sources of truth. Actually, scripture is probably used the least of the three. Christians only use scripture.
The early Christians had three sources of truth. This was a continuation from our Jewish roots. The Jews had (1) the teaching authority of Moses--the magisterium, (2) oral tradition, and (3) the Law or the Torah, which is scripture. The early Christians (and Catholics of today) have (1) the magisterium, except the chair of Moses was replaced by the chair of Peter, (2) sacred tradition, and (3) the OT scriptures which were later supplemented by the NT.
You are correct in saying that "scripture is probably used the least of the three" in determining early Christian or Catholic doctrine, but it is not for the reason you might be implying. The Catholic Church is older than the Bible, and our beliefs are older than the Bible. Certainly the doctrine could not have been based on a Book that the Catholic Church had not yet given to the world. However, there is no conflict between Catholic doctrine and the Bible.
If by "Christians" you are speaking only of the fallen away, non-Catholic Christians, this is true. When Luther rejected sacred tradition and the magisterium, the only thing left was the Bible. He then built his religion around misinterpretations of a Catholic Book. He also replaced the Septuagint OT that Jesus and the NT writers used with the OT used by later Jews who had rejected Christ and persecuted Christianity.
By accepting only the written word of God and ignoring the Church Christ established as an authority, and by ignoring the traditions that Paul says are so important, Protestants are left with just a slice of God's truth. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that they then have no authority to interpret Scripture and are free to make their own interpretations. This has led to thousands of differing opinions or denominations. This was certainly not Christ's plan.
Members of the fallen away Christian churches have adopted beliefs made up by men in the past 500 years. If you'd like proof of this, try to find any Christian prior to Luther who was not taught the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Or try to find any Christian prior to Luther who thought that "born again" meant anything other than baptism. You can't, because they don't exist. These are examples of "new" beliefs made up by men.
Most Protestants also accept the "new", made up, and non-biblical concepts of Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura. Again, you will not find even one Christian teaching either of this notions prior to Luther. He made them up. Sola Scriptura is self-contradictory, because if you listen only to what the Bible says, you wouldn't listen to what the Bible says since the Bible itself stresses the importance of the Church and sacred tradition.
@WorkingCatholic I commend you for your arguments. A Protestant should be protestant for the right reason; if there exists any. If he understands that the Catholic Church is true but believes that the grace of Christianity still spreads out to other denominations, who are we to say that God does not grant them that grace? But if he/she is Protestant because he thinks the Catholic Church is wrong, then he is truly separating himself from truth.
Another problem with Sola Scriptura is that there can only be one truth, yet it allows for individual interpretation--hence thousands of denominations each with their own "truth."
Also, if you reject the authority of the Catholic Church that established the canon of the Bible, how do you know that the books included are inspired? You can't get infallible Protestant Bible juice out of a fallible Catholic orange. The effect cannot be greater than the cause.
Many Protestants will speak of the importance of having a "personal relationship with Jesus." They have no idea what they are missing. To receive Christ into your body through the Eucharist is a miracle, and it just doesn't get any more personal than that.
As former-Protestant-minister-turned-Catholic Scott Hahn says, "They've got the menu, but we've got the meal."
Please come home to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Bride of Christ.
@WorkingCatholic Hello friend. The eucharist is a graven image. "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God......Exodus 20.
The eucharist is nothing more than a graven image of Christ.....Leviticus 26:1 “Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.”
When Christ said to eat His body and drink His blood He was speaking figuratively, not literally. The Book of John also says "unless a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Does this mean we need to be pushed out of our mother's womb again? Of course not. That would be impossible. Christ offered His body and blood on the cross for us. He wants us to accept His body and blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins.
@farsight 001 Before you tell me that my prayers are pointless, please take a moment to see what the Bible declares. It alone can say what prayer is of none effect.
Proverbs 28:9
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
The Eucharist is not Biblical. The Bible is the whole law. Read your Bible to learn how to follow the Law through the power of Christ in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24). Not in a Eucharist.
If I pray that you create a youtube account by the name of adrian212, that would be pointless prayer because you ALREADY have an account by that name. Likewise, if I pray that you, for example, stop beating your wife if you don't beat your wife and in fact don't even have a wife, that prayer would definitely be pointless.
Whether or not the Eucharist is biblical is beside the point. Your prayer was that we stop thinking of the Eucharist as our salvation, but we already don't, hence, pointless
Heb.7:27 Who needeth NOT daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did ONCE, when he offered up himself.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
"Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? [Y]e made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites."
Christ is not present in the eucharist. He died once and for all 2000 years ago. Christ said "it is finished." Hebrews....."So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. . . ."
Once offered yes. How, exactly, does that mean he can't be present in the Eucharist? Did he die for all people over all time? Then doesn't that make the sacrifice eternal?
The Eucharist is a participation in that one eternal sacrifice.
The Eucharist is not salvation. I pray fervently that all of my Catholic friends repent of this. It can not save you. This is adolotry at its highest level. Catholics live for Sunday Eucharist, Christians for the Biblical Sabbath. Please read your Bibles and learn the Truth about Jesus Christ. The WORD OF THE LORD IS ABOVE EVERY IDOL AND TRADITION. Please visit my channel for Bible Truth being preached by Pastor David Asscherick. The Sabbath is true communion with God.
@wjm7259 I am not sda. I belong to no church, or any organized religious system here on Earth. Catholicism is the largest cult religion in existence. I will state very CLEARLY for you and everyone else on this video page. The Eucharist IS NOT Jesus Christ's, literal body and blood. Jesus was ONCE offered for SIN. PLUS! Heat this LOUD and CLEAR! Even if the Eucharist was the literal body of Christ, Jesus Himself said that the FLESH PROFITS NOTHING!! Seems you all have forgotten that. Sadly.
Beware of this counterfeit that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught the Christians to commit adultery and fornicate with idols. BEWARE OF THIS MOTHER OF ALL HARLOTS. This will suffer heavy losses.
Hebrews 3 & 4 explains why people do not observe the Shabbat...
it's because of disobedience to Yeshua's Father...
but I have noticed, through the Holy Spirit and Scripture, that Babylon is responsible for the deception of changing this Holy Rest of ADONAI.. so the people who think they are being obedient to 'god' is actually being obedient to Rome and the authority it holds upon thie earth and not ADONAI and His Torah.. therefor, they also will not enter HIS REST...
BTW... Comparing the pope to Godly men of the Old Testament is laughable to say the least. The men of old were Bible believers. the pope is not. He believes in evolution, homosexuality, gambling, murder, lies, drunkeness, wars, torture, etc etc etc.
Friday sunset to Saturday sunset is the Shabbat of ADONAI...
The reason why 'Christians' or (Gentile Christians) observe Sunday is because of Rome and the Seat of the Papacy (King of Modern Babylon).
If you want to know truth, if you want to know what the Original Disciples (who were Messianic Jews) practiced, teached, preached and their ways of worship... then look into the ways of the modern Messianic Jews... notice what they do and how they do it...
And when did the apostles themselves, as depicted in the bible, hold their day of worship? Sunday.
Isis was not a sun god. And their "worship wafers" were not just round, but also square, triangle, leaf, and animal shaped. The manna in the desert was also round, just like that of communion.
Game, can i play ? this is an interesting mix of history and debate. but i have found the plain things are the main things in the Bible. Jesus died for us, in a very difficult fashion. at some point, people believe or they dont. and discussions on youtube are poor forums for any spiritual discovery. get out in the desert, or similar.
So tell me, in regards to the Sabbath. The bible tells us to keep it holy. The bible tells us to rest on it. Where does it tell us that the Sabbath is our day of worship? Or that the Sabbath is Saturday?
I read John 6. I wonder if you read or understand it. "unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you" And yet you, just like those who could not believe what they heard and left, cannot take it to mean what it really means.
You can worship Almighty God on any day. The Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) was made for man by God, and His Children are told to Remember to Keep it Holy. The 7th Day Sabbath is written throughout Scripture.
You are wrong about John 6, the Lord is talking about Worship, not literal eating.
You did not answer my question. Where does it tell us that the Sabbath is our day of worship or that the Sabbath is Saturday? Telling me that the Sabbath is the 7th day does not answer my question because we do not know what day of the week was the first day thousands of years ago when the commandments were made.
As for John 6 - you say it is talking about worship, not literal eating. That is a false dichotomy. It speaks of both.
John 6, the Lord is not talking about 'literal' eating of His body and 'literal' drinking of His blood. He was metaphorically speaking when He said, "I AM THE BREAD"
Here I am, put your TRUST into me. Worship me. I am the Bread of Life says the Lord! :)
I don't know what those verses were intended to refer to.
As for John 6, you are thinking exactly as the followers did who could not take Jesus' message and left. Don't just read John 6. Immerse yourself in it. Put yourself in the sandals of the people there. Why would people ever walk away unable to accept Jesus telling them to eat bread and wine, an already daily event? They would not. The only reason anyone would have a problem with it is if Jesus was being literal
You do know that to call someone farsighted is a compliment, right?
I'm sorry you can't come up with an argument to refute mine. That's no reason to get snide though. Maybe you should think seriously about why you can't provide an argument of substance in contrast to mine.
Farsightedness, or hyperopia, occurs when an eyeball is too short for the focusing power of the lens and cornea. This causes light rays to focus behind the retina. As a result, the eye sees distant objects more clearly while near objects appear blurred. It is a condition in which your eye is underpowered. Correction requires a "plus" lens containing additional optical power to permit sharp vision of near objects.
Ask God to give you the Holy Spirit 'LENS' of understanding close up Scripture.
Yes, that's one meaning of the word, but we we're not at the eye doctor. Farsightedness, when discussing information such as philosophy or religion is akin to having great wisdom. Kind of shot yourself in the foot, hunh?
Why should I ask the holy spirit to give me the lens of understanding when I already have it? That seems kind of greedy.
Catholics believe that it is actually the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Baptists beleive it to be a symbol or a memorial of his sacrifice. Read John 6 where Jesus says I am the bread of life.
How do you explain that the Apocrypha contains fabulous statements which not only contradict the "canonical" scriptures but themselves. For example, in the two Books of Maccabees, Antiochus Epiphanes is made to die three different deaths in three different places?
"On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight." Acts 20:7 The early Christians were Jewish and went to temple on the 7th day for the Jews and to the Gentiles on the first day of the week. "On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made." 1C 16;2
What a great video. Don't worry about the bashers. If they did a little research on the Calendar, they;d know that the days of the week have been changed so many times through history, it would be hard to tell what day was what. In any event, we live in the New Day of the Lord. Happy Easter... perpetually!
really, you know, in both hebrew and arabic, the days are named after the numbers. For example, Sabbath or Sabbat (both hebrew and arabic) mean 7th or 7th day.
Why do you believe that the wafer, is the litteral body of Christ? Why do you not drink infermented wine, as a sign of the sinless body of Christ? Why do you keep sunday sacred and not the shabbat, as the Bible tells us? The 7th day, is Holy, not the first day. Im just concerned, that catholics do not follow the Bible, but also adds in the traditions of the papacy. So, if we could debate it, with the Bible as our authority?
The Bible never claims to be the only authority, and Sts. John and Paul make it clear that there is much more than can or was written. It was given in oral testimony to the heirs of the Apostles thru succession.
So, I am happy to debate the theology of the One True Church, and its history and Traditons. Where shall we begin...? The video is about the Eucharist.
Well, whenever the traditions goes against the Bible, the Word of God will always have the authority over the word of man. Show me the passages where the teachings is different from this?
We can begin to talk about the Law, as I do not know much about the eucharist, or what you are teaching it is. Why do you keep sunday holy, when the Bible say Saturday?
From the earliest days of the Church, Sunday has been a day of worship and service. The concept of OT 'sabbath' plays only a small part. Christ was raised on Sunday, so it shouldn't be remarkable that Sunday is held in the New Covenant as a sacred day. The day of Christ's Passover, the 'fulfillment of the Sababth'[CCC 2175]. Sunday is a day of 'celebration and worship' [CCC 2176].
So, relax all you like on Saturday. Most of us have the day off and rest. But Sunday is for Church.
Show me a scripture in the Bible that states that the Sabbath was transfered to Sunday, or that God made sunday in honor of Christ? The truth is, that Baptism is the symbol of Christ`s birth. The CCC is not an acceptable authority for a protestant. Sola Scriptura.
If you want to take Satuday and rest, go ahead. But, if you are going to tie it into the OT,then read[Ex 31:14]. Either the Resurrection had singificance or it didn't. That significance includes a day of obligation to confirm our belifs and participate in corporate worship [CCC 2180,81]. From the first days of the real Church, that included the Sunday Eucharist.
If Christ is Lord of the Sabbath [Mk 2:28; Lk 6:5] then the day he rose from the dead may indeed possess great relvance. In the Ancient Church, that meant a day of worship.
SHow me in the Bible where the Christians worshipped on sunday. You cant, there is no one scripture that support your claim. So how can you defend your position from the Bible?
Using only the Bible, point out where Friday-Saturday night has been identified as the sixth day? You must use a calendar citing only Scripture. Point out where Yom Rishon means 'Monday'.
The Bible, identifies it as the seventh day, the last day of the week, to be saturday. Exo 20: 8-11. The jews did not have the names we do on the days. The first day, was called that because it was the "First day AFTER the sabbath" Monday, was the "Second day AFTER the sabbath" and so on.
What makes Fri-Sat the 'last day of the week'? Find in the OT where the last day of the week is SPECIFICALLY tied to what we now call Friday-Saturday. Why couldn't it be Wednesday-Thursday? Exodus only identifies that there IS a holy day, it does NOT tell us which day of the week it is.
Well, it tells us that it is the seventh day of the week. As we have no problem, finding out what the seventh day of the week is, by asking any jew, or look in any encyclopedia that has some form of credibility, we learn that Saturday, is the Last day of the week and sunday is the first. Even your pope agrees with that.
You asked a question outside the Bible friend. The fact is, we Know that the last day of the week is Saturday, as it has not been changed since creation. That was the day that Jesus Christ went into the Synagogue. The weekly cycle has not been changed since then.
So, its not in the Bible, right? You are relying on a tradition establiahed by men in order the find the day of the week that the Holy Day actually falls on? Unless you can prove from the Scriptures that its NOT a Wednesday or Saturday, I'll continue to celebrate on Sunday.
So the Sabbath is outside the Bible? Sorry friend, but you have been soundly and solidly whooped here.
Im afraid you are mistaken. I do not follow traditions of men, I follow the tradition of Christ. It is historical evident, that He kept the 7th day, and history tells us, that it has not been changed. What you are doing, is looking for an excuse to keep sinning against God. That is your choise, I cant persuade you in any way, that is between God and you.
I am asking for a Biblical answer, using the doctrine of only sola scriptura. Sinning against God? By worshipping? I think not. You can persuade me by fininding the answer using only the Bible as a source. You can't do that, can you? Let me know when you are ready to discuss the other topics you brought up. The answers are all in the Catechism.
Then perhaps you should check your catecism and see what day is the 7th day. Every jew knew what the seventh day was, so your question is not something that would be in the Bible. It does not say "Saturday is the seventh day" Since they did not have "Saturday" but Sabbath. The question you ask is not a question at all.
Sure its a question, and since you can't answer it from the Bible, we have to use Tradition and history. You still can't tell me at all that the Sabbath must fall on our Saturday.
That brings us to the Apostolic Fathers and the Vicar of Christ in Rome. Using both the Bible and the Catechism as primary sources, what would you like to discuss next? We'll have to use both since it is evident that sola scriptura is untenable.
Yes, but tradition is not authority. Do you believe we must follow the Commandment of God, to obey the 7th day, wich is saturday. According to Historical evidence, and calendars. Or do you accept the Popes decree, of celebrating the first day? It is a fairly simple question. The Word of God, or the Word of Man.
I do not understand why you argue against the seventh day being the sabbath. Or why you at all took this position. If it is to have a point that a christian also have traditions, then yes we do. But we do not let tradition dictate God. That is the difference between a catholic and a protestant. Are your traditions really that valuable?
The seventh day is the Sabbath, and that much we can see from Scripture. It is you who are relying on traditions to support your beliefs, which is agaisnt your doctrine of sola scriptura, which itself not in the Bible!
You make my point for me. You say 'every jew knew' that Saturday is the 7th day. That is a cultural traditon. Every Catholic knows that not every question can be answered in the Bible, so we rely on the teachigs of the heirs of the Apsotles. Those teachings can be found in preserved in the Catechism.
According to Karl Keating ("Catholicism and Fundamentalism", 1988 Ignatius Press) the Catholic Church moved the Christian Sabbath to Sunday to honour the Resurrection. Keating goes on to say that there is no mention of readings, hymns or preaching in the New Testament, but these things occur in a fundmentalist Protestant service. Sola Scriptura is a double-edged sword -- We Catholics have nothing to prove. It is the fundamentalists that have strayed, not Rome. Thanks for posting this. Tip top.
Our task, as followers and subjects of God, is to obey His Law. There is not anything in the Bible that support your argument. The CCC does not count as an authority in this matter, as it is written by man and not inspired by God.
You misunderstand, we are no longer under the penalty of the law, that means as I have said already. Wee are freed from the penalty of the Law, not the Law. There is a difference friend.
The first christians followed the example of Jesus Christ. He used only the Bible as a referance to what He said and taught. You have to prove to me, that the Christians used other sources, that superseded the authority of the word of God.
Jesus used the old testament friend. The story of when He talked in the synagogue in Nazareth, where He read from the book of Isayah. The first Christians used the Old testament, they were known as a jewish sect and kept the 7th day sabbath.
If Jesus only used the OT, then so should you. Therefore, you are under both the Law and the penalty of the Law. Also, since you are bound to the Law and the penalty, you must deny the very existence of Jesus, and be stoned at once for breaking the Sabbath.
Why must I deny the existance of Jesus? He tells me to follow Him, to obey His commands? You do know that He is the one that gave us the Law? James 4:12, acts 4:12. Perhaps you remember the words, "If you love me, keep my commands" I have already told you, that we are not bound by the penalty, because Christ died for us. We are however still asked to keep the Law of God, as rev 12:17 tells us, the remnant church are those that keep the commandments of God, that is the decalog.
By the way, today is the Sababth. Why are you on the computer tying messages to me? You are not only working, but you using utilities that make other work as well. Under the law, you should be stoned to death at once for violating the Sabbath.
Not at all friend. It is lawful to do good on the sabbath. The sabbath, is also from evening to evening. Wich means, the sabbath ends at sundown. We are however, not under the penalty of the Law, because Christ died for our sins.
It is UNLAWFUL to make servants work on the Sababth [Lev 25:6] and yet by using a computer and internet access until nightfall you are making the utilities work on the Sabbath. How can you be so keen on observing the Law, criticize me for not, then claim that we are not under the penalty of the Law which you are observing? Very strange.
Also, what 'good' are you doing on the Sababth? Healing the blind? Raising the dead? Which on of Jesus' miracles have you performed today?
Im not sure if your logic is according to what the Bible is teaching. Nor have I claimed that I have done any miracles. I have spread the word of God, that is all. Aswell, I have told you, that the Sabbath, where I live, is over. Lastly, the "utilities" in my computer, is not alive, and does not suffer.
By using the plumbing in your home, a cell phone, electricity or the internet, you have violated the Sabbath If you go to the grocery store or get gas in your car, you are violating the Sabbath by making OTHERS work on the Sabbath [Lev 25:6]. Becasue YOU use these services, OTHERS are forced to work on the Sababth.
To continue to demand that the NC Church take Saturday as a day of rest is a blitering denial of Christ's lordship over EVERY day.
I have no idea what you mean, I am allowed to go to the toilet on the sabbath, and flush! True, If I go to the store and buy things on the sabbath it is a violation, as I make others work by doing that. I do not make others work, however, by typing on the computer, or by calling anyone, this day and age does not use telephone operators.
By using the plumbing, you are using public utilities that become the cause of utility workers having to work on the Sabbath. Same with using electricity or the internet. Someone is having the monitor and manage those utilities today. And because of YOU, they cannot observe the Sabbath. You should be stoned to death [Lev 31:15].
Im afraid that is your opinion and not based on logical reasoning. God does not demand His followers, to take a break from the basic nececssities. What you are doing now, is creating a problem out of a commandment, that was made to be a delight for man, to be assisting man in their existance.
The temple in Jerusalem was destryoed to make it abundantly clear that Christ was the Tabernacle that dwelt among us. Kaaba was never, and still is not, a temple of God.
no way was the kaaba build before the Temple in Jerusalem and adam never build anything and Adam spoke Hebrew as is were the first language spoken so why would he build an arabic temple to worship an arabic moon god,
han, you made absolutly no sense. Tell me, why are Jews and Arabs consider "Sametic"? It is becuase we come from the child of Noah, Sam. So hebrew and arabic, cousin languages, came from the same language that Sam son of Noah spoke, not Adam. We dont know what language spoke, but if hebrew is the oldest language, why does hindu text disagree?
wow, who cares how you spell it if you understand me, i'll admit it, i suck at spelling, but that isnt the point. Yes, Adam is our father, but as the bible states that the whole earth was flooded for 40 days&nights. I am pretty sure no one would survive from that (unless on the ark of course). So tell me, who would our parents be then? When all but a few of children of Adam died?
Sorry for the remarks abt the Semitic se even I spelled it wrong, noway is Adam our father, GOD IS MY FATHER HE CREATED ME NOT ADAM, Adam was created so how can he create anything and especially humans
okay......God created Adam and us, true, but God put Adam on earth, in which Adam had children and his children had dhildren, and so on. We are the creations of God, not children, why, becuase if we were al children, what would make Jesus so special? Becuase he too can be created into a womb of a women, CANT GOD DO THAT?
If God really did choose Abraham and Ishmael to build the Ka'aba Stone, why would God want them to leave a meteorite as the cornerstone of the Temple? That is a clear vestiage of moon worship and pagan. It seems like a 'god' who is 'Most Wise' would have known that would be confusing to his true believers.
Show me the preislamic evidence that supports your claim. I want Arab documents from the Late Stone Age showing Abraham in Meca. If you don't have it, you don't have a religion any different than Mormonism.
God has nothing to do with the temple in Mecca. He had one Temple, and that was in ZION. With the advent of Christ, the Tabernacle dwelt aong us, and now God is to be worshipped in spirit.
why would GOD bother with a fake temple like the kaaba, and the Temple in Jerusalem was the true and only Temple of GOd the kaaba was used for worshipped idols and still is today but instead of many idols there is only one namely allah

Christ's sacrifice on the cross was a one time deal. Roman Catholics use scripture, the books of the apocrypha and tradition as sources of truth. Actually, scripture is probably used the least of the three. Christians only use scripture.
johnthreesixteen316 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 Part 1

@johnthreesixteen316 Part 2
WorkingCatholic 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 Part 3 "Christians only use scripture."

@johnthreesixteen316 Part 4
WorkingCatholic 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 Part 5
WorkingCatholic 1 year ago
@johnthreesixteen316 Part 6
WorkingCatholic 1 year ago
@WorkingCatholic I commend you for your arguments. A Protestant should be protestant for the right reason; if there exists any. If he understands that the Catholic Church is true but believes that the grace of Christianity still spreads out to other denominations, who are we to say that God does not grant them that grace? But if he/she is Protestant because he thinks the Catholic Church is wrong, then he is truly separating himself from truth.
a2j93 6 months ago
@johnthreesixteen316 Part 7

@johnthreesixteen316 Part 8
Amen.

@WorkingCatholic Hello friend. The eucharist is a graven image. "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God......Exodus 20.
johnthreesixteen316 1 year ago

Not in a Eucharist.
adrian212 1 year ago
If I pray that you create a youtube account by the name of adrian212, that would be pointless prayer because you ALREADY have an account by that name. Likewise, if I pray that you, for example, stop beating your wife if you don't beat your wife and in fact don't even have a wife, that prayer would definitely be pointless.
Whether or not the Eucharist is biblical is beside the point. Your prayer was that we stop thinking of the Eucharist as our salvation, but we already don't, hence, pointless

Christ is not present in the eucharist. He died once and for all 2000 years ago. Christ said "it is finished." Hebrews....."So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. . . ."
johnthreesixteen316 1 year ago
Once offered yes. How, exactly, does that mean he can't be present in the Eucharist? Did he die for all people over all time? Then doesn't that make the sacrifice eternal?
The Eucharist is a participation in that one eternal sacrifice.

@farsight001 The eucharist is a bread wafer. It isn't Christ.

The Eucharist is not salvation. I pray fervently that all of my Catholic friends repent of this. It can not save you. This is adolotry at its highest level.

I agree...
I wouldn't say bible believers but Torah and Hebrew Scripture believers....
The seat of the papacy is the seat of the king of Babylon :)

Christian3269 2 years ago
When do the Jews and Messianic Jews observe ADONAI's Shabbat?
Friday Sunset to Saturday Sunday with Saturday mornings usually holding the Shabbat services.
The seat of the papacy has admittingly changed ADONAI's times (Holy Days) and Torah (Law).
that little idol wafer you so love to eat is from Ancient Babylon Sun Worship of Isis.
and after you eat it, you make the sign of the cross which is from the diety Tammuz.
I can just imagine what kind of message you are spreading here on!
Christian3269 2 years ago
Friday sunset to Saturday sunset is the Shabbat of ADONAI...
The reason why 'Christians' or (Gentile Christians) observe Sunday is because of Rome and the Seat of the Papacy (King of Modern Babylon).
If you want to know truth, if you want to know what the Original Disciples (who were Messianic Jews) practiced, teached, preached and their ways of worship... then look into the ways of the modern Messianic Jews... notice what they do and how they do it...
Christian3269 2 years ago
And when did the apostles themselves, as depicted in the bible, hold their day of worship? Sunday.
Isis was not a sun god. And their "worship wafers" were not just round, but also square, triangle, leaf, and animal shaped. The manna in the desert was also round, just like that of communion.
Game. Set. Match.
farsight001 2 years ago
Game, can i play ? this is an interesting mix of history and debate. but i have found the plain things are the main things in the Bible. There is nothing wrong with meeting on the first day of the week as long as you hold the Sabbath. Hebrews 3&4 explains the Sabbath Observance.
Read John 6 and see what the Lord says about the manna..
You have been lied to, actually brainwashed. You are not the only one!
Surely, I don't think Salvation is a game...

Christian3269 2 years ago
So tell me, in regards to the Sabbath. The bible tells us to keep it holy. The bible tells us to rest on it. Where does it tell us that the Sabbath is our day of worship? Or that the Sabbath is Saturday?
I read John 6. I wonder if you read or understand it. "unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you" And yet you, just like those who could not believe what they heard and left, cannot take it to mean what it really means.
farsight001 2 years ago
You can worship Almighty God on any day. The Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) was made for man by God, and His Children are told to Remember to Keep it Holy. The 7th Day Sabbath is written throughout Scripture.
You are wrong about John 6, the Lord is talking about Worship, not literal eating.
Read it again
Christian3269 2 years ago
You did not answer my question. Where does it tell us that the Sabbath is our day of worship or that the Sabbath is Saturday? Telling me that the Sabbath is the 7th day does not answer my question because we do not know what day of the week was the first day thousands of years ago when the commandments were made.
As for John 6 - you say it is talking about worship, not literal eating. That is a false dichotomy. It speaks of both.
farsight001 2 years ago
it's in the 10 Commandments
Hebrews 3 and chapter 4
I don't have my bible, but there are more.
John 6, the Lord is not talking about 'literal' eating of His body and 'literal' drinking of His blood. He was metaphorically speaking when He said, "I AM THE BREAD"
Here I am, put your TRUST into me. Worship me. I am the Bread of Life says the Lord! :)
Christian3269 2 years ago
@Christian3269
The only reason anyone would have a problem with it is if Jesus was being literal
farsight001 2 years ago
you really are farsighted.
The Bread of Life discourse has absolutely nothing to do with the 'Breaking of Bread' Remembrance.
Too bad you can't see this. Go to God and ask Him to give you the Holy Spirit 'LENS' of understanding so you can 'spiritually' see.
Christian3269 2 years ago
You do know that to call someone farsighted is a compliment, right?
I'm sorry you can't come up with an argument to refute mine. That's no reason to get snide though. Maybe you should think seriously about why you can't provide an argument of substance in contrast to mine.
farsight001 2 years ago
Farsightedness, or hyperopia, occurs when an eyeball is too short for the focusing power of the lens and cornea. This causes light rays to focus behind the retina. As a result, the eye sees distant objects more clearly while near objects appear blurred. It is a condition in which your eye is underpowered. Correction requires a "plus" lens containing additional optical power to permit sharp vision of near objects.
Ask God to give you the Holy Spirit 'LENS' of understanding close up Scripture.
Christian3269 2 years ago
Yes, that's one meaning of the word, but we we're not at the eye doctor. Farsightedness, when discussing information such as philosophy or religion is akin to having great wisdom. Kind of shot yourself in the foot, hunh?
Why should I ask the holy spirit to give me the lens of understanding when I already have it? That seems kind of greedy.
farsight001 2 years ago
Catholics believe that it is actually the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Baptists beleive it to be a symbol or a memorial of his sacrifice. Read John 6 where Jesus says I am the bread of life.

Why does god forbid human sacrifice in one place,
then turn around and demand human sacrifice to appease his rage?
Simlarly, God forbids drinking blood,
then Jesus demands the drinking of his blood,
which, along with ritualized cannibalism,
xians still practice today?
Why did god forbid punishing people for the actions of their fathers,
then condemn us for the actions of Adam?
I think God is a hypocrite.

Sir, got a question, are you a Roman Catholic?
Mekelsior 4 years ago
Yes. Do yoou have questions about the Comunnion?
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Why do you believe that the wafer, is the litteral body of Christ? Why do you not drink infermented wine, as a sign of the sinless body of Christ? Why do you keep sunday sacred and not the shabbat, as the Bible tells us? The 7th day, is Holy, not the first day. Im just concerned, that catholics do not follow the Bible, but also adds in the traditions of the papacy. So, if we could debate it, with the Bible as our authority?
God Bless.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
The Bible never claims to be the only authority, and Sts. John and Paul make it clear that there is much more than can or was written. It was given in oral testimony to the heirs of the Apostles thru succession.
So, I am happy to debate the theology of the One True Church, and its history and Traditons. Where shall we begin...? The video is about the Eucharist.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Well, whenever the traditions goes against the Bible, the Word of God will always have the authority over the word of man. Show me the passages where the teachings is different from this?
We can begin to talk about the Law, as I do not know much about the eucharist, or what you are teaching it is. Why do you keep sunday holy, when the Bible say Saturday?
Mekelsior 4 years ago
From the earliest days of the Church, Sunday has been a day of worship and service. The concept of OT 'sabbath' plays only a small part. Christ was raised on Sunday, so it shouldn't be remarkable that Sunday is held in the New Covenant as a sacred day. The day of Christ's Passover, the 'fulfillment of the Sababth'[CCC 2175]. Sunday is a day of 'celebration and worship' [CCC 2176].
So, relax all you like on Saturday. Most of us have the day off and rest. But Sunday is for Church.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Show me a scripture in the Bible that states that the Sabbath was transfered to Sunday, or that God made sunday in honor of Christ? The truth is, that Baptism is the symbol of Christ`s birth. The CCC is not an acceptable authority for a protestant. Sola Scriptura.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
If you want to take Satuday and rest, go ahead. But, if you are going to tie it into the OT,then read[Ex 31:14]. Either the Resurrection had singificance or it didn't. That significance includes a day of obligation to confirm our belifs and participate in corporate worship [CCC 2180,81]. From the first days of the real Church, that included the Sunday Eucharist.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
If Christ is Lord of the Sabbath [Mk 2:28; Lk 6:5] then the day he rose from the dead may indeed possess great relvance. In the Ancient Church, that meant a day of worship.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
SHow me in the Bible where the Christians worshipped on sunday. You cant, there is no one scripture that support your claim. So how can you defend your position from the Bible?
Mekelsior 4 years ago
Using only the Bible, point out where Friday-Saturday night has been identified as the sixth day? You must use a calendar citing only Scripture. Point out where Yom Rishon means 'Monday'.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
The Bible, identifies it as the seventh day, the last day of the week, to be saturday. Exo 20: 8-11. The jews did not have the names we do on the days. The first day, was called that because it was the "First day AFTER the sabbath" Monday, was the "Second day AFTER the sabbath" and so on.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
What makes Fri-Sat the 'last day of the week'? Find in the OT where the last day of the week is SPECIFICALLY tied to what we now call Friday-Saturday. Why couldn't it be Wednesday-Thursday? Exodus only identifies that there IS a holy day, it does NOT tell us which day of the week it is.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Well, it tells us that it is the seventh day of the week. As we have no problem, finding out what the seventh day of the week is, by asking any jew, or look in any encyclopedia that has some form of credibility, we learn that Saturday, is the Last day of the week and sunday is the first. Even your pope agrees with that.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
Ask a Jew? Encyclopedias? Ask the Pope? What happened to SOLA SCRIPTURA?
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
You asked a question outside the Bible friend. The fact is, we Know that the last day of the week is Saturday, as it has not been changed since creation. That was the day that Jesus Christ went into the Synagogue. The weekly cycle has not been changed since then.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
So, its not in the Bible, right? You are relying on a tradition establiahed by men in order the find the day of the week that the Holy Day actually falls on? Unless you can prove from the Scriptures that its NOT a Wednesday or Saturday, I'll continue to celebrate on Sunday.
So the Sabbath is outside the Bible? Sorry friend, but you have been soundly and solidly whooped here.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Im afraid you are mistaken. I do not follow traditions of men, I follow the tradition of Christ. It is historical evident, that He kept the 7th day, and history tells us, that it has not been changed. What you are doing, is looking for an excuse to keep sinning against God. That is your choise, I cant persuade you in any way, that is between God and you.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
I am asking for a Biblical answer, using the doctrine of only sola scriptura. Sinning against God? By worshipping? I think not. You can persuade me by fininding the answer using only the Bible as a source. You can't do that, can you? Let me know when you are ready to discuss the other topics you brought up. The answers are all in the Catechism.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Then perhaps you should check your catecism and see what day is the 7th day. Every jew knew what the seventh day was, so your question is not something that would be in the Bible. It does not say "Saturday is the seventh day" Since they did not have "Saturday" but Sabbath. The question you ask is not a question at all.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
Sure its a question, and since you can't answer it from the Bible, we have to use Tradition and history. You still can't tell me at all that the Sabbath must fall on our Saturday.
That brings us to the Apostolic Fathers and the Vicar of Christ in Rome. Using both the Bible and the Catechism as primary sources, what would you like to discuss next? We'll have to use both since it is evident that sola scriptura is untenable.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Yes, but tradition is not authority. Do you believe we must follow the Commandment of God, to obey the 7th day, wich is saturday. According to Historical evidence, and calendars. Or do you accept the Popes decree, of celebrating the first day? It is a fairly simple question. The Word of God, or the Word of Man.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
Historical evidence and calendars? So, we are no longer going with sola scriptura? Just show me where, in the Bible, Saturay is the 7th day.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Show me in the Bible then, where we are to keep the first day, and that the first day is sunday?
Mekelsior 4 years ago
I don't have to rely only on the Bible. You do. Sola scriptura, remember?
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
I do not understand why you argue against the seventh day being the sabbath. Or why you at all took this position. If it is to have a point that a christian also have traditions, then yes we do. But we do not let tradition dictate God. That is the difference between a catholic and a protestant. Are your traditions really that valuable?
Mekelsior 4 years ago
The seventh day is the Sabbath, and that much we can see from Scripture. It is you who are relying on traditions to support your beliefs, which is agaisnt your doctrine of sola scriptura, which itself not in the Bible!
I'm done with you. God bless.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
You make my point for me. You say 'every jew knew' that Saturday is the 7th day. That is a cultural traditon. Every Catholic knows that not every question can be answered in the Bible, so we rely on the teachigs of the heirs of the Apsotles. Those teachings can be found in preserved in the Catechism.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
According to Karl Keating ("Catholicism and Fundamentalism", 1988 Ignatius Press) the Catholic Church moved the Christian Sabbath to Sunday to honour the Resurrection. Keating goes on to say that there is no mention of readings, hymns or preaching in the New Testament, but these things occur in a fundmentalist Protestant service. Sola Scriptura is a double-edged sword -- We Catholics have nothing to prove. It is the fundamentalists that have strayed, not Rome. Thanks for posting this. Tip top.
ibindermann 3 years ago 5
I have a copy of that very book, and it helped me return to the Church.
LothairOfLorraine 3 years ago
Our task, as followers and subjects of God, is to obey His Law. There is not anything in the Bible that support your argument. The CCC does not count as an authority in this matter, as it is written by man and not inspired by God.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
Then obey the Law, and demand that you are stoned to death at once for breaking the Sabbath.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
You misunderstand, we are no longer under the penalty of the law, that means as I have said already. Wee are freed from the penalty of the Law, not the Law. There is a difference friend.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
Can you show me where the Ancient Church, in the days of the Apostles supported 'sola sriptura'? It looks like Latin to me...?
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
The first christians followed the example of Jesus Christ. He used only the Bible as a referance to what He said and taught. You have to prove to me, that the Christians used other sources, that superseded the authority of the word of God.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
hahahah....! WHAT! JESUS USED THE BIBLE!!!!??? THERE WAS NO BIBLE IN PALESTINE IN THE 1st CENTURY!
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Jesus used the old testament friend. The story of when He talked in the synagogue in Nazareth, where He read from the book of Isayah. The first Christians used the Old testament, they were known as a jewish sect and kept the 7th day sabbath.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
If Jesus only used the OT, then so should you. Therefore, you are under both the Law and the penalty of the Law. Also, since you are bound to the Law and the penalty, you must deny the very existence of Jesus, and be stoned at once for breaking the Sabbath.
Also, Jesus never used a cell phone. Do you?
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Why must I deny the existance of Jesus? He tells me to follow Him, to obey His commands? You do know that He is the one that gave us the Law? James 4:12, acts 4:12. Perhaps you remember the words, "If you love me, keep my commands" I have already told you, that we are not bound by the penalty, because Christ died for us. We are however still asked to keep the Law of God, as rev 12:17 tells us, the remnant church are those that keep the commandments of God, that is the decalog.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
By the way, today is the Sababth. Why are you on the computer tying messages to me? You are not only working, but you using utilities that make other work as well. Under the law, you should be stoned to death at once for violating the Sabbath.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Not at all friend. It is lawful to do good on the sabbath. The sabbath, is also from evening to evening. Wich means, the sabbath ends at sundown. We are however, not under the penalty of the Law, because Christ died for our sins.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
It is UNLAWFUL to make servants work on the Sababth [Lev 25:6] and yet by using a computer and internet access until nightfall you are making the utilities work on the Sabbath. How can you be so keen on observing the Law, criticize me for not, then claim that we are not under the penalty of the Law which you are observing? Very strange.
Also, what 'good' are you doing on the Sababth? Healing the blind? Raising the dead? Which on of Jesus' miracles have you performed today?
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Im not sure if your logic is according to what the Bible is teaching. Nor have I claimed that I have done any miracles. I have spread the word of God, that is all. Aswell, I have told you, that the Sabbath, where I live, is over. Lastly, the "utilities" in my computer, is not alive, and does not suffer.
Mekelsior 4 years ago
By using the plumbing in your home, a cell phone, electricity or the internet, you have violated the Sabbath If you go to the grocery store or get gas in your car, you are violating the Sabbath by making OTHERS work on the Sabbath [Lev 25:6]. Becasue YOU use these services, OTHERS are forced to work on the Sababth.
To continue to demand that the NC Church take Saturday as a day of rest is a blitering denial of Christ's lordship over EVERY day.
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
I have no idea what you mean, I am allowed to go to the toilet on the sabbath, and flush! True, If I go to the store and buy things on the sabbath it is a violation, as I make others work by doing that. I do not make others work, however, by typing on the computer, or by calling anyone, this day and age does not use telephone operators.
What is this NC Church that you speak of?
Mekelsior 4 years ago
NC [New Covenant]
By using the plumbing, you are using public utilities that become the cause of utility workers having to work on the Sabbath. Same with using electricity or the internet. Someone is having the monitor and manage those utilities today. And because of YOU, they cannot observe the Sabbath. You should be stoned to death [Lev 31:15].
LothairLorraine 4 years ago
Im afraid that is your opinion and not based on logical reasoning. God does not demand His followers, to take a break from the basic nececssities. What you are doing now, is creating a problem out of a commandment, that was made to be a delight for man, to be assisting man in their existance.

haha. atleast he did not let pagans to break his temple of mecca like he did with temple of jerusalem.
kaaba was first one. built before jerusalem one. both temple were built by Adam and later rebuilt by other prophets.
But kaaba is more precious. God never allowed any pagan to ruin it.burn in hell .

The temple in Jerusalem was destryoed to make it abundantly clear that Christ was the Tabernacle that dwelt among us. Kaaba was never, and still is not, a temple of God.
No, you burn in hell.

no way was the kaaba build before the Temple in Jerusalem and adam never build anything and Adam spoke Hebrew as is were the first language spoken so why would he build an arabic temple to worship an arabic moon god,
hannahr77 4 years ago
han, you made absolutly no sense. Tell me, why are Jews and Arabs consider "Sametic"? It is becuase we come from the child of Noah, Sam. So hebrew and arabic, cousin languages, came from the same language that Sam son of Noah spoke, not Adam. We dont know what language spoke, but if hebrew is the oldest language, why does hindu text disagree?

it's semetic not sametic and we do not come from Noah we come from Adam, and read the blessings of Abraham.
hannahr77 4 years ago
wow, who cares how you spell it if you understand me, i'll admit it, i suck at spelling, but that isnt the point. Yes, Adam is our father, but as the bible states that the whole earth was flooded for 40 days&nights. I am pretty sure no one would survive from that (unless on the ark of course). So tell me, who would our parents be then? When all but a few of children of Adam died?

Sorry for the remarks abt the Semitic se even I spelled it wrong, noway is Adam our father, GOD IS MY FATHER HE CREATED ME NOT ADAM, Adam was created so how can he create anything and especially humans
hannahr77 4 years ago
okay......God created Adam and us, true, but God put Adam on earth, in which Adam had children and his children had dhildren, and so on.

Facing Mecca only blinds you from the Truth.
