  • That was really nice!

Now, I'm gonna check out your newest video! :)

    BOP

  • impresionante

  • Very nicely played. I think i'll give playing this one a go. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Mooooooon Riiiiiiveeeeer...

This one is on my want-to-play-list as soon as I'm capable, and it's your fault! :)

  • You play that piece very gracefully and effortlessly. It makes me realize I don't practice enough. Personally I think your muted sound works well here.

  • This is nice too ... a tad short though .. LOL Encore!

  • This one is awesome too!

  • Very nice playing. Glad to see you are using a good fingering technique. I'll only comment on the tone quality of the theremin -- try to find a texture that's more vocal; it will give you a much more pleasing and interesting result. What you're using now sounds somewhat like a muted brass instrument - Seek that "Singing Lady" quality and you'll be much happier, I think. The Etherwave is capable of producing that sound; you just have to find it.

  • Thanks for the suggestion! I've noticed that the amp I use makes a big difference in tons, as well. This was played on my dinky little guitar amp, which seems to give everything a more brassy tone. I have a bigger amp that is more rich and string-like with the same settings. Also, the higher register seems to do "Singing Lady" better than the mid and low registers, I've found.

How do you feel about manipulating recordings to get the tone you want? I think it could be nice as a separate track, but not much help for live gigs.

  • Awesome job. Verry nicely done.

  • Excellent, as always. Thanks!

Interestingly, I've always made a habit of recording all practice sessions and listening back to them afterwards to try and be objective about the playing. A pitch-preview is certainly on my "wish list" ... but getting a solid grounding without it for a few months is perhaps no bad thing.

Sending you best wishes for your forthcoming live performance; tomorrow, isn't it? Try to enjoy it, although if it was me I'd be terrified!!! I'm sure you'll be fantastic!

  • Dang! I wanna play that piece. Man, you're progress with intonation and muscle memory on the Etherwave Standard just blows me away!

Everybody, Dan has the goods! The Etherwave is not an easy instrument to play!

  • How on EARTH did you view this vid so quickly! I JUST posted it! :)
