  • @Troy110891 you idiot

he was talking about how the label of the song in the video say "Mary had a Little Lamp"

  • yes i wiil

  • That guitar was made as a gift for SRV by Billy Gibbons. Not a bad piece, but it was always a bear to keep in tune.

  • i'm watching the full concert.. stevie was sooo stoned there.. you can tell only by the way he sings, 'cause he keeps playing like a fucking god

  • 2:08 - 2:18 .... best guitar move EVER!!! :D

  • do any of you know where i can find some blow?

  • Totally Deadly !!! Awesome !!!

  • Luv the footage: thanks. This is my personal favorite, although SRV had SO many great tracks...

  • I love his hamiltone guitar, I really want one.

  • I kinda like the guitar he's got there.

    It sounds epic!

  • does anyone know what guitar that is?

  • @yojoe71 hamiltone

  • ya when hes bending notes we want to watch the drummer...

  • No she didn't. I asked her myself

  • i cant say i really like the sound of hamilton. this song sounds awesome with lenny

  • hehehhe a little lamp!

  • this proves he can make a simply song sound 1000x better then its original version.

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • @bnbfalcon its a famous SRV strat guitar called Hamilton (not made by Fender), it is also known as the "couldnt stand weather" because he uses it in that video's song. If im not wrong, Billy Gibbons gave it to him as a present, but I repeat, im not sure.

  • this i like

  • Why did the camera not explode after getting too close?

PS. What make is this guitar? Thats is not a Strat

  • @GSJacket it's a hamiltone custom, billy gibbons had it made for tevie in 1984

  • who ever unliked this must be pretty damn stupid!!

  • Mary had a little lamp? ROTF LOL. How about Mary had a little AMP? :-D

  • @9ihsanp9 YOUR NOT WORTH MY TIME,AND YOUR WRONG,DO YOUR HOMMEWORK,NO IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @winchester4444 You big penis

  • xDDDDDD

  • You guys should learn your blues history if you want to call yourselves SRV fans... Mary had a little lamb is one of the oldest recorded blues songs... and it was recorded by most of the great bluesmen...now you know...lol.

  • Seriously, that bend at 1:38 could possibly be the best bend of all time.

  • @MikeLamb24 are you saying SRV is ripping off john Mayer? or am i just confused. Cuz there are so many things wrong with that if you are. First this song is an old blues song that has been played for decades. second if you look at the info this show was in 1984, way before john mayer. third, and probably most importantly even if SRV was still alive why the fuck would he rip off john mayer!! He could play mayer under the table using his toes!!

  • @Jessespade1 Hahha the guy was obviously trying to be funny, sarcastic or whatever...

  • @Jessespade1 Amen to that! Sacrilege. You don't ever speak evil of Stevie Ray.

  • @MikeLamb24 are you kidding me?

  • Mary avait un petit agneau

  • Damn, that guitar is really thick.

  • Eric Clapton, eat your heart out!!!

  • Everywhere Mary went the lamp was sure to go. That's because it was dark.

  • the thick strat is awesome!

  • now THERE was a man that was comfortable with a guitar.

  • ha yeah he looks drunk haha.....but that dudes a ledgend ,still the shit didnt fuk up once! just simple stevie!!!

  • Man, I loved this jam in dusk til dawn...

  • my 4 year old niece and nephew are obsessed with him haha i love it.

  • Stevie is drunk

  • Stevie is drunk?

  • Check out maaa band :)

  • see there at the start its says "mary had a little lamp" LOL

  • lol I love the little arm spin he does during the solo at 2:10

  • Ill probably play this tonight

  • THIS is amazing ...first time I seen this. Thx for sharing this.

  • its fucking crazy !!

  • What happened to Scuttle Buttin from this show??? its not on the internet anymore :(

  • That guitar was given to Stevie Ray as a gift from Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.

  • @rocknrails thats just awesome! They're both beasts of Texas blues, but they have such different takes on guitar its hard to tell they both play it, haha

  • @rocknrails no it wasn't.

  • What a shitty guitar, he never really liked that one..

  • good jive to this one! swing away stevie tell it like it is. show us how to play that thing!

  • the studio lyrics were the fleece was white as snow, live the fleece was black as coal and smoked kool's. gotta love it!!

  • WTF... Mary Had A Little LAMP??? xD what a noob! xD HAHA

  • NO SH*T!!! LOL!!

  • @amtotot aka jackass, recognize a legend and bow down boy!!

  • @mrsmercer2u What do you mean? I was calling the jerk who wrote "Mary had a little Lamp" as the song title. You can see it at 0:50. I think you missunderstood, I love Stevie Ray Vaughan!

    Damn right he's a ledgend!!!! He's AMAZING!

  • @amtotot clearly..you're an idiot

  • @johnny2366 aahh my bad..you were pointing out that the person who posted the vid spelled the title wrong...all apologies

  • @amtotot wtf you know punk! hes a legend dumb fuck

  • @ritakouri I'm adressing the guy who got the title of the song wrong! just look at 0:50 when the title comes up!!!!! It says "MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMP"! The guy who wrote this is totally not a ledgend, so I'm guessing you thought i meant Stevie. But i did not!!!! Not at all!!

    I know he's a ledgend! He's my fucking idol!!!!

  • @amtotot he's brilliant .

and the song is very cool

YOU ARE a NOOB not he !!!!!

  • @Joshiguitar22 I'm adressing the guy who got the title of the song wrong! just look at 0:50 when the title comes up!!!!! It says "MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMP"!... so I'm guessing you thought i meant Stevie. But i did not!!!! Not at all!! You missunderstood

    He's a ledgend!

  • Your a freakin' Idiot.

  • @amtotot Wow! you're right! FAILIURE

  • yes, wrong guitar

  • he sounds better with a strat......

  • @voodoochild119 it pretty much is a strat

  • @voodoochild119 i thnk those emgs killed his sound

  • @voodoochild119 It pretty much is a strat.

  • @voodoochild119 euh that's a strat, not by fender but still a strat...

  • @kevenbelangerharbour if it's not made by Fender it's not a Strat

  • @bobomcfuckfuck420 What about G&L? That was Leo Fender's second company where he handmade guitars again after selling Fender to CBS.

  • @milodaman2 yeah I know about G&L but what's your point? A Fender Stratocaster is a Fender Stratocaster...that's it that's all. Anything else, including a G&L is a copy of a Strat shape but it's still not a Strat.

  • @bobomcfuckfuck420

G&L is a Fender that's better than a Fender. Leo was able to introduce new designs (New bridge, s-500 pups) that CBS refused, and a G&L Strat is an evolution of the Fender Stratocaster. Go out and try one. G&L makes a lot nicer instruments than Fender, and they're more true to Leo's design.

  • @kevenbelangerharbour Do you consider Slash original Les Paul a Les Paul???

  • Whaaaaa a little lamp, LOLL!!!

  • Mary had a little LAMP ??!?!?!

  • Too awsome!!

  • @njrun

I'm a huge fan of both and its impossible to compare the two. they had very unique and different styles but RG and SRV are in my top 5!!

  • YEAHHHH

  • Where is the concert?

  • @sharapov87

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Mary Had A Little Lamb - Live in Munich 1984

  • King of electric blues, man.

    R.I.P.

  • Comment removed

  • That Hamilton is a real monster!! What a sound it has!! Its Stevies sound.....just love it as always!! R.I.P my friend!!

  • GOD

  • GOD

  • Lol real hard!

It must have been really dark for lil' Mary that she had to get a Lamp. Hahahahahaha

  • LOL. Mary had a Little Lamp.

  • Its not a strat, i believe it is a Hamilton guitar that was built for him

  • Yes its the HAMILTONE guitar

  • I've never noticed or seen a Strat with that body before.

  • yeahh it was specially made for him.. strat body but totally different neck. still gorgeous no matter what

  • not a strap body atall just the same shape.

  • ahah its still a gorgeous guitar no matter what

  • 2:09-2:17 is just ridiculous! Look at how much passion he is putting into the guitar!

  • lol at 0.54 it says mary had a little lamp

  • That's OK. Stevie was coked out. He didn't care!

  • rien à dire, c'est génial

  • that strat is worth 16 g's now!

  • That Hamiltone special is one mean ass guitar! Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top had it made specially for Stevie too. Man I wish I had the dough to buy one of the replicas that Jim Hamiltone is making right now!

  • oh, its worth much, much more than that

  • yah the replica, the one he's playing there is probaly in the millions

  • he has an awesome guitar

  • And you know this because ? and who fucking cares?

  • have you ever played on stage?`you always sweat. it's exhausting and the lights normally are very hot.

  • The drugs make it worse. F.Y.I.

  • coke dissolved in crown not heroin (not the soda either)

  • I am a bassist......... I always bring my own fan!

  • yeah mary had a little lamP and she took it at school...

  • Stevie was so high that day

  • stevie is lookin classy

  • Mary had a little lamP????

  • It was a complete typo. ESL situation. I have to admit it did make me laugh.

  • Why is in subtitle written "little lamP"?

  • lol, as i watched the crowd, i mimicked them,. they're clapping out of time haha

  • maybe the video stream doesn't match the audio one perfectly..

  • oh haha, possibly, but i doubt it because stevies part of the video fits perfectly to what im hearing

  • marry had a little lamp hahahahahahahaha

  • without a chorus, isn't this just scuttle buttin slowed down?

  • dude its blues. what did you expect? syncopated phrasing on 7/4? I just love hearing the man play...

  • Please listen with your ears not with your heart.

  • Always S.R.V. He always plays in different way the same song, but you know it's ... that song.

  • That is one coked out SRV

  • Wabes432, what the fuck is your problem?

Get a life and go suck dick somewhere else you retard. It is clear that you know nothing about music. Tommy Shannon is one of the best bass players of all time, Chris Layton is one of the best blues drummers ever, and Reese Wynans is one of the best rock keyboard/organ players ever. If it weren't for this guys, SRV's music would be a lot different and they all together were amazing and unique.

They were an amazing band and they played very tight!

  • Roflmao.

They're good guys, but. Come on.

They're playing very straight and simple stuff. Even you have to admit that.

  • That isn't simple. Nothing Stevie does is simple. But he was really high that day. Haha :P

  • i think we are all forgeting the obvious thing that in all the opinions i have read these guys jived the best togther. im sure if stevie was alived and you asked him if he could have made it without double trouble he would have said no all three of them togther made some fantastic music

  • why do the best people have to die, fuking hell!man

  • Wabes432 is 21 years old. He never lived when good music was played. Please excuse his ignorant comments.

  • ha ha at 0:51 it said mary had a little lamp

  • Wabes432, please shut the fuck up you dickhed and get a life. You seriously know nothing about music adn guitar playing if you don't like Double Trouble and their magic that was going all together. SRV's music would be a lot different if it werent for this super talented guys that were in the band. They were the real deal.

Tommy is one of world's best bass players of all time, Chris is one of the best drummers ever, and Reese (that came in 1985) is one of the best organ/keyboard players ever!

  • Granted as good a SVR was, his rhythm section NEVER failed him. The best.

  • Still though they don't really add anything to the sound. I love SRV, but I mean look at the hendrix experience, fantastic drummer and very good bassist which made a lot of the music, not just the guitar, memorable. Double Trouble have skill set of no-name session artists and I'd like to see one video that proves me wrong.

  • I understand and agree with your comment. But: the backbone to the guitar melody carries the tune, chris is on top of it, bass player a little behind the beat, srv is the band, of course..Put 2nd rate rhythm section with srv and you have...crap. Most drummers cant shuffle and bass players can walk, my point I guess is GFB (great Fuck*n band). I'm no srv but that rhythm section would even make me sound good.

    Peace.

  • My two amateur musician friends could play exactly what Double Trouble is playing probably adding on good breaks as well. Nearly all of SRV's songs are simple rhythms with easy to follow beats. This is the foundation of learning to play any instrument. Being able to follow a beat and keep a rhythm is the EASIEST part. It's being creative and daring that is difficult.

  • Ok your right, now stick yourself up your ass.

  • i hope you know that all the solo in this video is being improvised as hes playing

  • I'm not doubting Stevie. It's the rhythm section that, while solid, doesn't really add anything. I mean look at the great power trios, Cream, Primus, The Who, Zeppelin, Pantera, for instance. Each player was incredible, adding layers to the sound. While you could say Double Trouble did their job as the rhythm section for Stevie, they aren't nearly the virtuosos grga888 seems to think they are. Stevie is fantastic to listen to, but I don't buy Double Trouble as this amazing rhythm section.

  • Good lord Wabes, at least know your subject matter when you spout off such stupidity.

I grew up in Austin and spent many nights watching Stevie with Double Trouble in person. Stevie was very thankful to all of them for their contributions and in fact chose each member carefully himself.

You miss the point that Stevie was the showman. The point of the show was Stevie's playing and Double Trouble did everything to showcase his talent.

Pull your head out of your ass Wabes.

  • I hear what you are saying man, Tommy is a good pocket bass player but he is no Pino Palladino, Noel Redding or Nathan East. I have heard numerous bass players who are friends of mine and are accomplished professional bass players and they will tell ya the same thing. Tommy is a good player but there are guys out there who would smoke him. They played well together but stevie could play as a one piece and still get off.

  • the hendrix experience sukcs balls let me see jimi hendrix play this

  • Let me see SRV make a song like 1983.

  • sooooooo! gooooood toooooo

  • Hey Who's the Bozo that wrote Mary had a little lamp DUUUUUUH a true SRV fan no dout.

    LOL

  • and it sounds like he says fleece as black as coal in this version

  • I believe he does...I play this song with a buddy of mine who is a huge SRV fan. Tattoos, guitars, all the posters, tapes, albums, and what not, and he sings this song black as coal.

  • could someone tell what difference it makes with higher gauge strings?

  • with high gauge strings, it's a bit harder to do bends, but you get a nice deep, fat tone like SRV's

  • nice, ill have to try those sometime. Thanks for the quick response too. lol

  • just dont slap them on ur guitar bro. your neck might not be able to take it.... i have a c shaped neck on my strat and i put 13's on them and my neck warps all the time now. stevie a 12" radius. most guitars are from 7 to 9

  • oh, thanks, ill be sure to ask someone first.

  • hey man, do you think the new standards ( 9,5 Fretboard radius ) will be able to take 11s or 12s?

  • well i have been playing fender stailess flats 13-54s (throw the wound g string out lol) and the tone is phenomenal, when you play texas flood switch to the bridge pick up to do the bends and hit em hard, that is the closest thing you can get to a monster tone like the late greatest guitarist of all time SRV

  • Grab a set of Texas Hot Rails pickups. My father uses a self-made Stratocaster (built from Strat parts) with 'em. It's the only guitar he uses for SRV songs. Believe me when I say they make all the difference.

  • i use stock pickups lol texas hot rails? dont really think ive heard of them. who makes em?

  • They're more commonly called "Texas Specials." They're made by Fender.

  • No, they're ONLY called Texas Special Strat Pickups. I'm not sure where you get the hot rails part from.

  • Stevie played in Eb!

And don't be a fool. Stevie turend to Eb cause of easier voice not that much primarily for the guitar, cause 13's are 13's, and 18's are 18's, no matter on what, and they are really huge and heavy strings, Stevie was the king of the heavy strings!

  • ha ha at 54 seconds mary had a little lamp

  • Hahaha, ya I saw that. Could you imagine being followed by a lamp?

  • yeah it would be strange for a while but i adapt to things quickley and i reckon i could live with it ha ha.well untill i try to go asleep i reckon i could live with it

  • I've been using 13's on a LP for years. When you de-tune (I play mostly in C)it make the strings act like 11's in A440. From what I've read, SRV de-tuned alot. At least to D if not C.
